"Hy - Line Cruises"
Ocean st. docks, Hyannis MA
The weather was with us! We took an hour long cruise of Hyannis harbor, past the residences of the wealthy and infamous. The main points of interest for the harbor would be..Hyannis Port breakwater, Saint Andrews -by-the-sea church, The residences of Sam Barber (artist), Sen. Edward Kennedy, late president John F. Kennedy, Late sen. Robert F Kennedy, Shriver, Thun, Joan Kennedy, and Morton Downey. |
We stopped in at "Baxter's by the bay" for their famous fish 'n chips and ate them on the pier with a sea gull watching us.
"Provincetown"
Provincetown is a quaint little town with art galleries, fun boutiques, sidewalk restaurants, gift shops, and very narrow streets. The mon- ument being the tallest of all granite structures in the United States, commemorates the first landing of the pilgrims. The museum features exhibits about the lower cape, the pilgrims and maritime history. |
Whenever I go to the Cape, I visit Provincetown. I make it a point to stop at "Mo jo's" for fried clams, and the "Penny Patch" for some salt water taffy. The "Penny patch" was opened in 1956. It's a small , quaint, old- fashioned candy store making home made fudge in copper kettles, 30 vari- eties of salt water taffy and a huge selection of old time "penny" candy. |
"Just relaxing."
We took a day to go off the cape to visit a friend of Debi's that lived in MA too. Cathy was a gracious host and I felt at home with them. Her boyfriend, Brian, cooked out on the grill and served us while we talked. We had a lovely time. |
"Cook-out!"
The guys are cooking!! We got the mess, though, the next morning:-)
Camera shy?
I had to sneak through the bushes around the house to get a picture.
A good time was had by all!
Thanks for coming!
Love 'n lollipops Gram-ma and Debi.
