Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) and costar with Regis, is the third member of Eva's best friend group. Kelly, Eva, and Sarah are all best friends and have remained there for each other throughout their careers all taking different turns. Eva is Kelly and Mark Consuelos's children's godmother. Mark Consuelos, Kelly Ripa's husband, was also her husband on AMC first and they too fell in love in real life. Mark's character on AMC is Maria Santos's younger brother. Susan Lucci is also a very close friend of Eva's who drove two and a half hours in a blizzard to reach Eva's baby shower in 2001. Michael E. Knight (AMC, Tad Martin) is also a good friend of Eva's. Eva claims that if she had a say she would have a romance with him if not her own real life husband because he is gorgeous and makes her laugh non-stop. On an interview behind the scenes of AMC, Michael was talking to the interviewer when Eva in a bathroom came in surprising him by kissing him passionately, wrapping her arms around him climbing into his lap. (I needed a fan.) Not knowing she was going to kiss him he cupped her face and said, "Hey sweetie," and then she LAID one on him! Go girl! Michael was befuddled as he wrapped his arms around her.
