a) You need a new water purification system. Based on your raw water analysis, your product water specifications and your other specific needs, I can choose the required treatment steps, write the specifications, check offers received that they match the technical requirements, do an economical comparison of the investment and operating costs for different designs, check for expensive conditions in warranties...
b) You already have a water purification system, and are not satisfied with its operating cost or performance. I can check for saving potentials and/or possible quality improvements.
c) Do you need operator training for your water purification system? I teach seminars on Water Purification for the Swiss Foundation for Microtechnological Research. http://www.fsrm.ch. If you need training tailored specifically to your needs, at your facilities, I can also do that. (within a reasonable distance for travel...)
d) You have a separation problem and you wonder if a crossflow membrane process could be the solution. I can do an assessment of technical and economical feasibility, and if that is positive, coach you through the different stages of process development. (prescreening of membranes, pilot testing, full-scale implementation)
For projects as consulting engineer I usually collaborate with Enrico Riboni from ozone.ch.

During this time, I did internships at:
Großkraftwerk Franken AG, in the
analytical laboratory of the Power Plant in Frauenaurach, close to Nuremberg
(monitoring the quality of water and gypsum)
"Japan Spectroscopic Company", a
manufacturer of analytical instruments in Hachiojishi, Tokyo (demonstration
laboratory, various IR Spectroscopy and Chromatography projects)
"EKATO
Misch-und Rührtechnik", a manufacturer of industrial stirrers in
Schopfheim, close to
Basel. (design improvements for an industrial stirrer, this was my graduation
thesis)
After graduation, I worked for Osmonics Europa, which was the European sales office of Osmonics Inc., a Minneapolis-based manufacturer of industrial filtration and water purification equipment. I worked as application engineer. This work included designing non-standard water purification and filtration equipment, writing specifications, startup of equipment sold, and phone/fax assistance in case of problems. I also translated some specifications, brochures and instruction manuals, or verified such translations done by translation agencies (click here if you want to laugh...some were done by someone not very technical...)
Osmonics transferred their European operations to Paris in march 1997. Since that time, I work as an independent consulting engineer and technical translator. Osmonics is one of my major customers.
I am married and have four children ( born in February 1997, April 99, January 2001, and February 2003). My husband, Joseph, teaches industrial control at the engineering school of the canton Wallis. http://www.eiv.ch . My children keep me kind of busy, but leave me 2-3 hours in the afternoon to work while they're asleep, playing or going to kindergarten.
When I don't work, I like to go hiking or skiing (the Wallis is a very good place to do that), swimming or biking, or enjoy some music (I play violin, guitar and piano).
I also participate in church activities, and am interested in anything that has to do with environment, development or 3rd world.
I like traveling, and when I go someplace, I make it a point of honor to learn at least a little bit of the language- besides helping in communication I think the structure of the language also shows something very important about the culture of the country.
This way, I learnt some words of Polish, Dutch, Thai, Czech and Hebrew.
I get a long quite ok in Italian and Japanese for everyday use, and I have forgotten most of the Spanish I learnt, because it is quite similar to Italian, so I can't keep the two apart.
With little children, it is difficult to go on long trips, so at the moment, exotic food serves as a substitute.
