STEVENSVILLE — After a brave eight-year battle with cancer, Lisa Marie Heritz, 39, peacefully went to live with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, while surrounded by family and friends at the Center for Hospice in South Bend, Ind. A celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kerly Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to The Mayo Clinic, the Steven Briegel Cancer Research Fund, Northwestern University Hospital E.N.H. Brain Tumor Research Fund, or First Church of God. Lisa graced the world with her presence when she was born on April 29, 1967, in St. Joseph, to Sandie Judd of Dowagiac and Henry Heritz of Little Rock, Ark. No one could ask for two more dedicated and supportive parents. In addition, Lisa was blessed to have her stepfather, Dick Judd, and stepmother, Jeanette Heritz, by her side. Lisa also had two loving and protective big sisters — Laurie Reyner of Daphne, Ala., and Nan Roach (Clint) of Dowagiac.

In addition to her family, Lisa’s greatest joy in life was being a devoted mother to her beautiful daughter, Megan Elizabeth Rhoa.

Driver dies in collision during practice laps
A man who was driving practice laps at a Michigan speedway
Saturday afternoon was killed when his car crashed into a truck
parked at the pit entrance,the Kalamazoo (Mich.) Gazette reported.
Dion Kevin Parish, 35, was killed instantly when his car sped up
coming off Turn 1 at Kalamazoo Speedway in Alamo Township, Mich.,
and charged head on into the side of the safety truck.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
