At times a male will accompany a female for a while after mating, but most often females are alone with their cubs. Cubs are born in litters of two or four, hidden in a secluded place.Their eyes don't open for a week or two, and they are helpless. When the mother is hunting, she leaves them hidden, but when they're six weeks old, they are able to follow her along. Cubs become independent from about 18 months and are mature by two years old. |
