Babynat's Progress Report

August 29, 1998
I'm 13 months now and I just love this moment!
I have 7 and "a half" teeth now - four top incisors,
two and "a half" lower incisors and one lower molar.
I'm getting really good at running around and climbing
about and Daddy says that I walk with a "stylish" gait
whenever I swing my arms when I walk. I'm giving Mommy
a really fun time too by standing on tip-toe and
swiping down things from the table top! Yesterday,
I reached up for a piece of watermelon but broke the
bowl when the bowl jumped out of my hand! It wasn't my
fault, was it?

I'm 14 months old now and I have 8 and "two halves" teeth now - one new "half" lower incisor and one new "half" upper molar. Besides clapping my hands, I've added tapping my right foot to music in my repertoire.
I've still got to work on my left foot though.
It's the Chinese Mooncake Festival on Oct. 5th this
year and I've got a lantern shaped like a rabbit.
The candle in the lantern is lit at night and children
will take lanterns of various designs and walk round
the neighbourhood displaying their colorful lanterns.

I'm 15 months and I love every moment! I have 13 teeth now
and that enables me to eat almost everything Mommy and Daddy eats.
My repertoire now consists of feet tapping, body swaying, hands clapping,
head nodding and making a "cluck-cluck" sound to the beat of the music!
I've also started playing on the organ in my Grandma's house.
It's really fun to turn all those levers and knobs and getting different
tones and sounds and rhythm in return!
It drives my Grandpa crazy though 'cos he has to make sure I don't fall off
the bench as I tend to get excited and stand on top of it instead of just sitting down.

I'm 16 months old now, and I have a lot of favorite stuff that I like to do.
One of them is, I like to take my "Big Book of Nursery Rhymes and Fairytales"
and go to Daddy or Mommy and say, "Sit, sit, sit...." and then, I'd back up
and sit on their laps and read them the book. I'd teach them how to read by
pointing to the pictures and telling them what the objects are called.
(in my language, of course) My Mommy also lets me draw with some huge
crayons and actually, I'm quite an artist, you know. My favorite drawing
canvas is the floor but Mommy always wipes my artwork away! So, I have
none to show you now.

It's been sometime since Mommy last update this page, as you can
very well see. And you wouldn't believe the many changes that have
taken place ever since. For instance, I've given up babytalk, and that's why
it's no longer a feature here. I'm a big girl now and I can speak in
sentences already!
I'm going to be TWO in four days time, and Mommy says "terrible twos"
is a very mild way of describing the stage I'm in.
I wonder why......
I'm attending a playgroup and children's library once a week and I'm
really enjoying it. You would too if you can scatter rice all over and
have a sand shower and get all wet and be splattered with paint all over!
(These are normally "no-no"s at home, you know...)
Now, I love to sing a tune or two! Click below to hear my version
of Baa Baa Black Sheep and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!
