Summer's Spring

At the Beach there came a moment
I "felt" you love me;
I leaned into your chest
under the stars,
you wrapped your arms around my
tiny shoulders and engulfed me,
kept me warm, as time stood still
We'd come a ways to reach this one true moment
Different backgrounds,...common ground
we'd worked so hard and come so far...
It seemed all worth it, and just below us
On the sands we watched young lovers,
Yet as I placed my head upon your heart
our love so silent, yet so vivid,
all at once...
We sat there for what seemed forever,
and we realized our love had bonded true
We were one, and we were strong,
We fit, we smiled, and to each other
we belonged...
I know the ocean played somewhere
in the background,
but all I heard was you, my senses
seemed to drift, to blend we never uttered
a single sound...
You seemed to 'hear' me, and you
lifted my lips gently to meet yours
We sat for hours, looking out into
the ocean, drank the beauty of the cool
salt air, no words were spoken
It was me, and it was you, it was majestic
and I wanted it to last forever, t'was the
first time I'd seen the sea, and t'was the
first time we knew we'd really become "we"
And now time's passed, I often ponder
the glory of what was meant to be that day
Like all things that are majestic,
some have had to come to halt
Although that time too beautiful to fault,
Some things linger on, and I know someday
time will let me share in love that special
Once again...
