Although you were ever-present
In my Heart...
Distance, time and space
not *here*...
Yet you are in my Heart...
Scared and trepid was I when
you returned to show me life...
I smiled, youth returned for us
Absent was our strife..
Remembering beauty, I "saw" the lake,
it seemed to hold my secrets, and I gazed...
September trails we strolled along,
the laughter, silent speaking ruled the days...
We stopped and to my delight, surprise,
we lay there, spoke, and watched the skies...
The ground beneath me felt like the clouds,
we viewed, inhaled, and saw their shapes...
Like prince and princess...for the hour(s)
We basked majestic, lost our capes...
Flowers picked, and candles bought...
T'was more the joy of what we sought...
Or what we found, I know will stay...
Though you are not with me this day...
The hopes, the dreams, remain - I know ...*someday*
