Prune late flowering trees and shrubs. Thin out the canes for better air circulation on roses. Cut out dead and diseased branches on shrubs and roses. Order seeds from catalogs: flowers and vegetables. Fix paths, garden walls, garden fences. Sharpen and repair tools; keep them free of dirt; always clean them after you've given them a good workout. Keep small sharp tools in a bucket of sand with a little motor oil in it. Clean and disinfect all your plastic and terracotta pots. Wash them in warm soapy water, and then rinse them in a tub of water with a little bleach in it. Clean up all the winter debris: dead leaves, branches, windblown papers and trashes…. Organize your woodpile; winter is almost over; you wont be doing much burning. Get those logs in order for next winter. Clean and repair garden furniture. Don't forget to keep feeding the birds, and keep the water clean in the birdbath. Sweep all paths, driveways and sidewalks.
