Kanga and Roo are
the inseparable
Mother and Child.
Even their names
can't really be
separated. Kanga is
the classic mother.
Often doing things
without any real
explanation, very
attentive to Roo,
and very hard to
trick. Roo is the
classic child. Never
really sure why he
has to do
everything, but
generally just takes
it in stride.
Understands what
he needs to do, but
isn't beyond doing
something wrong a
few times if he's
already in trouble
for the first time.
My favorite Kanga-Roo
story is Winnie-the-Pooh,
Chapter VII, In Which
Kanga and Baby Roo
Come to the Forest and
Piglet Has A Bath. Feeling
that Kanga and Roo
shouldn't be in the forest,
Rabbit comes up with a
plan to steal Baby Roo
from Kanga's pouch, and
put in Piglet instead. Like
most of Rabbit's plans,
this one backfires
completely. Rabbit and
Roo become good
friends, and Piglet ends up
getting Roo's bath.
