The Actress

As I wander with a smile, my heart is in despair.
But every brilliant smile will hide my eyes.

Me, no one will ever know, save one - who doesn't care.
Love is all I know More false than I.

Love For Me

I ask for you to love for me,
With both our hearts combined.
I've found that love is useless
so I have no need for mine.

For God Himself could not give back
our love which, still, should be -
and though my prayers would be in vain,
I pray, you love for me.

Limited

No love exists, it can be said,
That destiny won't mock.

And time can make your heart lovesick,
Or hardened like a rock.

But destiny's more cruel than time,
-more unforgiving, too.

With time, it's said of love that leaves,
"If it returns, it's true."

For when the hands of time have ticked,
A last obeisant tock,

Time steps aside and bows his head,
To love's immortal clock.

But destiny will show you seeds,
of every dream come true.

Then plant them where you'll never find,
Forever, out of view.

The Smell of Thunder

Thunder, yelling at me, telling me to wise up.

Rolling over the hills before me. Tall, unsurmountable barriers from happiness.
Green, love infested ideas all amounting to nothing as your scent rolls in...

Would I call it a scent?
More like what happens when all scents fade.

A dusky, musty, leftover smell. Smells to me like hope. Or love...
Or some bit of each which lies beyond my grasp now.

I once believed that thunder would cure me of wanting.
But its deep tone reaches my heart so that it, too, speaks in vibrations of sympathetic lonliness.

Now the smell that came when yours left.

Pity

Two hearts still beat, though one has ceased and reached the distant shore.
Two people live, with all to give, to who would live no more.

Tragic Heros

We are fools, you and I.
Lost angels in a Heaven still strange to us.
Bound by our hearts, to never forget.
Cherishing the pain that keeps us alive.

What more do we want from life
but to go out having sacrificed our happiness
to a cause that seems worthy only to us.

Two Tragic Heros.

Dying alone.

Having loved only one
who we could never love.
