August 31, 1992. Re Mr. Wilson, As a child I was mentally and physically abused, starting from the age of 8 to 13 years old. Due to the abuse I became a very insecure, angry and hurtful person. I was an uncontrollable child to the point I started abusing my mother. I was then forced out of the home due to my behaviour and I then lived with my sister and her husband for a year. After 3 months of not living with my mother we then proceeded to go to counselling and received psychiatric help. This has been a slow and on-going process, as far as my sleeping habits were concerned . I experienced many nightmares, nervous reactions for instance rolling my head , in order to go to sleep at night. This went on for a few years until my mother was introduced to the Tickle family. She then came home with a Tickle Beast and because of my age at 16 years old, I was embarassed to use it as a security to go to sleep. I didn't think that the Tickle Beast could be so helpful to a girl that has gone through what I have. I sleep with it every night and I would just like to thank you for introducing us to the Tickle Beast, so that I now can have peaceful nights. Because of the rest I am getting , my whole attitude has changed. As one abused individual, I highly recommend the Tickle Family to anyone of any age.

April 28,1992. Dear Mr. Wilson, thank you so much for introducing us to The Loveable Hairy Tickle Family. I have to admit that when I first heard about this family, I was a little sceptical in believing that this could really work for my child. Due to being abused as a child from the age of 8 to 13 years old she had many sleepless nights and alot of emotional problems. Through the fear and anger that this problem caused, she was left in such an emotional turmoil, seemingly causing her to roll her head uncontrollably, in order to go to sleep. Nightmares, twitching, and waking up crying, were just some other effects that she went through, not to mention she was a very hard child to handle. When she entered her teenage years she started to be a parent abuser. This went on for two years, until it got to the point of her having to leave home. We then went the route of doctors, psychiatrists, counsellors, and home care workers. These resources have helped the both of us, and we still continue to use them. In December of 1991, we were introduced to the Tickle Family. After thinking of this family for a couple of months, I though what could it hurt. I was ready to try anything, so my daughter could have some sense of security in order to have a peaceful night sleep. As of February 1992 the Tickle Beast has been in her life, and I am very thankful, and happy to say that her once sleepless nights are now much more peaceful. She is now 16 years old, working in B.C. and no matter where she goes, or where she is at, her buddy the Tickle Beast goes with her. I, as a woman of 40 years and a parent, I highly recommend to try the Tickle Family. I do believe now the Tickle Family can create a sense of security within children and to comfort anyone!

September 4, 1992. Dear Mr. Wilson, my wife and I have had the opportunity to observe first hand the effect that the Tickle Family has had on our granddaughter who has been a very mixed up child from a very young age. This child has had to have counselling and psychiatric treatment. She would wake up crying, afraid, and rolling her head back and forth in order to try and get back to sleep. Since her mother was introduced to the Tickle Family and giving this a try, we have found this has helped her immensely. Seeing how this has helped our granddaughter with her fears, and insecurities we highly recommend the Loveable Hairy Tickle Family to any child.

June 20, 1992. Dear Mr. Wilson, I want to thank You for the Tickle Monster you gave my son Jody. He was often plagued with terrible nightmares. I tryed everything to console him when one occurred, from sleeping with him to talking and praying with him about the nightmare. Sometimes this helped but more often than not he would fall asleep only to wake up time after time with the same nightmare. He was only 5 years old when you gave him the Ticklette named after your own child Jamie. The results were amazing! No more nightmares! His faith in this little Monster's ability to ward off bad things, such as nightmares, is still strong today, at nine years old. When I asked him for any comments he might make regarding the Tickle Family he simply stated, It really works Mom!

September 1, 1992. Dear Mr. Wilson, Many compliments on your great idea of your creation of the Tickle Family, and what it signifies. I was first introduced to the Tickle Monster through my grandson Jody, who is very impressed with how it seems to help him, besides being a cuddly, soft toy, it seems to give him the extra security at bedtime and during the night. I am also very impressed with its purpose to ward off nightmares and know it has helped Jody and has offered a calming effect on him. Also am confident it will help many childrem with night time imagination and fears - having the Tickle Monster with them. Also feel this could be very valuable with other problems in other areas - such as helping in giving more confidence - which at present they may lack - in doing better in reading and writing problems. Feel confident, it would be very helpful in giving many kids the little extra security to help them through some rough times. Others, we have spoken to about the Tickle Monster, are interested in hearing and seeing more of them. Keep up the good work, you are making many children feel secure and comfortable. Good Luck!

January 7, 1992. Dear Mr. Wilson, Just a short note to thank you for the wonderful gift of your "Tickle Beasts" for our sons, Stephen and Christian. Our children have never been the type to ask for the location of a toy, nor have they ever been the kind of children to sleep with stuffed toys; but if their Tickle Beasts are not in their rooms with them at bed time, they will ask for them. I have never seen my children derive so much enjoyment from one single toy before. The "Tickle Beast" seems to afford some form of magical comfort. When Christian goes to bed at night he holds his Beast closely and listens to the soothing music in his palm. It is both refreshing and reassuring to see a toy in todays world exceeding comfort and peace, rather than senseless violence and death. Thank you for a ray of hope in a senselessly violent world.

Cranbrook Women's Resource Society January 21, 1992. Dear Mr. Wilson, I would like to thank you for the use of the Loveable Hairy Tickle Family. Our Centre has found this to be an asset to our toy room. The children have responded very positively to these cuddly creatures and have taken to them quite kindly. The children who come to the Centre have enjoyed many hours of enjoyment while playing with the Tickle Family and we have had only a good response to this. Our daycare staff have found them to be a positive step in childminding and we would strongly recommend the "Tickle Family" to be used in all aspects of childcare. January 23, 1992. Dear Hartley, Just a note to thank you for the "Tickle Monster". My son loves it. I have wakened many nights to the crying coming from my son's bedroom. He suffers from nightmares quite frequently. I've tried everything from sitting with him to talking gently to him but nothing seemed to work. Finally, after bringing the Tickle Monster home and telling him the story behind it and how it keeps bad things away he is now able to sleep peacefully. Once again, thank you for this gift. September 2, 1992. To whom it may concern, In my previous job, children and families sometimes spent time in a waiting/meeting area for brief periods of time. Mr. Wilson asked me to see how the children responded to his Tickle Family. I was not able to observe this personally, but two of my co-workers were able to observe some young children with them, and told me that the children were quite fascinated with the Tickle Family, that they couldn't seem to figure out where the music was coming from. I brought the Tickle Family home for two days. I have two children, then aged four and seven. They were both interested in the new toys. They enjoyed pressing the creatures to make music. The youngest one took the larger Tickle creature to bed, to protect him one night, as outlined in Mr. Wilson's book. It worked!
