Brown Owl: She is in her 13th year of
Guiding. She started off as a Girl Guide Leader when her
oldest daughter was in Girl Guides. The leader was
looking for help so she volunteered and before she knew
it she was "hooked on Guiding"! Later she
decided to give working with Brownies a try and found
that she loved this age group. She also worked for one
year with Sparks, helping to get the 72nd Sparks started.
Although her daughters are no longer in Guiding, she
wouldn't dream of quitting! It's just too much fun. She
has a busy schedule working full-time, helping to
organize the unit and wearing her District Commissioner
hat. She is very lucky to have some wonderful friends and
family who support her. Brown Owl is married to someone a
Brownie once referred to as "Mr. Brown Owl" and
has two daughters, all of whom she loves very much.
Spotty Owl: Spotty
Owl has been in Guiding for two full years. She has two
daughters, Victoria who is a Guide and Leah who is a
second year Brownie. She is our Treasurer for the Unit
and also does the record keeping. She also has two dogs,
Barney the Beagle and Slinky the Dauchund. Too bad she
isn't a Brownie now, she'd be sure to earn her Pet's
Outlook! She keeps herself busy, sewing, cooking, doing
crafts, volunteering at Brownies and her daughter's
School as well as taking care of her family and pets. On
top of all this she also runs a housecleaning business.

Sleepy
Owl: Don't
let the name fool you. Sleepy Owl does a lot more then
sleep at our meetings. She works with the Grade Two
Brownies, preparing them to become Brownies and working
on opening their windows throughout the year. She enjoys
crafts and just spending time getting to know the girls.
She has completed one full year in Guiding andis looking
forward to another one. She has two daughters in Guiding,
Chantal who is in Guides and Kendra who is a second year
Brownie. She just returned from her very first week at
Camp Kiawa, our local Girl Guide Camp where she
volunteered for a week! Good for you Sleepy Owl!
Froggy (Lisa) is our Junior Leader
with the early group. She used to be one of Brown
Owls Brownies! Brown Owl is so lucky that she
decided to come back to help. Not only does she come to
Brownies each week but she also goes to Rangers. The
girls love to play with Lisa and talk about one her
favourite groups, The Back Street Boys! Lisa loves to
camp and has spent many a summer at Camp Kiawa, our local
Guide Camp. Brown Owl not only relies on her to teach at
meetings but at camp where she teaches the Senior
Brownies camping skills. She amazed Brown Owl with her
waterproofing skills this past camp. She is always
willing to help no matter how small or difficult the job
and is well on her way to running her own group some day!
