How great to sail the sea.
But, Ah, to climb the rainbow,
How marvelous indeed.
When the stars in the sky shall gently glow,
When mittens and stockings are found,
When cold and white is the ground,
When the bird leaves its nest,
These are the times I love best.
The beautiful times,
The wonderful times,
The sweet times of winter.
with his bag of sand.
He’ll take you to a wonderful
and magical new land.
He’ll whisper to you softly,
while in his arms you’ll fly,
to a land beneath the rainbow
where wishes never die.
But leaves no trace
Do not be in despair.
For you will know when it comes
Because the trees are bare.
When children play every day
In the golden leaves
When trees look gnarled, old, and dead
But beautiful to see.
When leaves fall in the yard,
And raking time is nigh,
I wonder what we have in common,
The bare trees and I.
a cloud fallen from the vast heavens above.
A cloud nestled in the warmth of the earth.
Like a baby bird fallen from its nest.
Then it soars into the deep blue sky.
She has the same eyes, she has the same nose.
She's the same as me from her head to her toes.
She speaks with my voice and uses my laugh.
Could this girl be a twin that I have?
Or in the mirror do I spy
Only me, myself, and I?
