Activities

Our 4-H Club always has some kind of activity going on. We have won many craft and cooking awards. We participate in the Sugar and Seafood Competition in November(both are important industries in our area). On Poultry Day we participate by preparing egg and/or chicken recipes. Some of us also raise chickens. In January, we we prepare ground beef dishes for the Ground Beef Cookery Competition. In October we participate in the Ag Fair.The Better Breakfast Poster Competition is an activity we really enjoy. In February , we make dairy posters

Our Club also sponsors many activities to help our community,our school and the students and teachers. We help clean up the community by setting aside days to pick up trash on the roadside. We send cards to people in the hospital and collect food to be distributed at Thanksgiving and collect money for the March of Dimes and other charitable organizations. We also collect eyeglasses for the Lions Club to be given to people who can't afford to buy eyeglasses. For the teachers, we make gifts for them for Teacher Appreciation Week. At least once a year we provide "goodies" for them in the lounge. Our UPC label collections have made it possible for us to buy incentives for children displaying positive behavior at school.
