Ah, love spells. I think I've had people ask me to cast them a love spell more often than anything else. While I don't market myself as a Witch for Hire, first of all, let me share a little something with you all.

I've never done a love spell for myself. I am happily attached with my soulmate ... we found each other with no real spell intervention. We were meant to be together, and it happened. I didn't do it by brewing something in my cauldron.

People are so often so desperate for love and affection, especially the attention of someone specific. Let me share a little witchy secret with you - love spells, especially those cast on a specific person - can be dangerous. As a teacher, I share love spells with my students, but I warn them about the karmic reprocussions they can reap.

I believe in soul mates. I feel that we each have another person that are the other half of our souls. We jouney from life to life, and at some point we meet. Sometimes, we may be separated in a lifetime because there is something to be learned. I always consider this quote by H. Fielding Hall:

"Love does not die with the body. It lives forever and ever, through incarnation after incarnation. Love is stronger than death. Not any dogmas of religion, not any philosophy, nothing in this world, nothing in the next, shall prevent they who love from the certainty of rejoining some time the soul they love."

So you want to bring love to your doorstep? It can be done, safely. All I can say is be careful what you wish for. I've only done two love spells in my life, neither one for myself as I said before. If you want to hear the story e-mail me , but for now, here's some simple things you can do that won't interfere with your karma and the balance of the destiny of this lifetime, but will certainly do a little prompting.

1. To bring love to your door, have a pot of lavendar by your doorstep if you want to attract the love of a man, mint of you want to attract the love of a woman. A rose bush if you're not picky either way.

2. Please, for the love of the Goddess, don't place a love spell on a specific person. If it's not meant to be, it can backfire in your face. Love spells can bring love to you. Not dictate the detsiny of someone else. In doing that, you mess up your own karma.

3. For a simple love spell, gather a pink stone. Put it in a red pouch and tie a red string around the top of the pouch, chanting "love be mine" nine times with each of the nine knots you must place around it. Put it under your pillow and sleep with it underneath until love has found you.

4. You can reverse love, too. If you have unwanted affections, write the person's name on a piece of paper and stuff it in an apple core, along with a bit of dragon's blood. Toss it into a body of MOVING water, or bury it at a crossroad.
