OWNERS: Art and Kathy Johnson
Super Kings Current Roster
SUPER KINGS TEAM MOTTO
CLAIMS TO FAME
- Only CJRL team named after a sandwich
- Pays the least attention at CJRL Annual Rules Meeting
- Hardest team to trade with
- Team most likely to acquire Chico Walker
- Team most likely to acquire Chico Walker again
- Unexplained penchant for Los Angeles Dodger players
- One of the "original 8" CJRL teams
BEST FINISH
- First place in 1996
- Tied for first in 1991, but lost on tie-breaker*
*Art Johnson still claims that a conspiracy between DNT owners Debbie Streckenbein and Larry Johnson (now of the Terminators) kept him out of first place. He charged that the tie-breaker rule was changed before he lost on the tie-breaker. The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Art Johnson must read the rules of the CJRL before bringing frivolous charges.
FIRST SEASON
Interesting draft for the life-long American League fans. The Super Kings drafted such powerhouses as Ken Oberkfell, Alfredo Griffin, and Scott Garrelts. Although their first draft didn't go so well, the Kings made up for it through waivers and acquisitions. They finished the season in fifth place out of eight.
FAVORITE HOBBIES
- harness horse racing
- rotisserie baseball
- complaining to team owners about their unfair trades, then complaining why teams don't trade with them
- laughing at trade offers from other team owners
