Razmataz Wrest Top Spot from Cassville Crew
July 14 was a very important date in the history of the young Razmataz franchise. It marked their first appearance in first place of the CJRL. It is also a monumental occasion in that it is the first time this season that the Cassville Crew are not in first place. After holding first place from day one through the first two months of the season, the Razmataz has held the top spot for four straight days. As of June 18, the Cassville Crew and the Razmataz are tied for the top spot with 78 points each.
Joe Schott, owner of the Cassville Crew, stated "We are not afraid of Gasparro, or Searl, or their Razmataz. In fact, I'll bet my string of car dealerships against their livestock feed factory that we'll finish ahead of them at the end of the season. And you can take that to the bank!" When asked for a response to Schott's remarks, Don Gasparro, co-owner of the Razmataz, replied "Schott's days are numbered as the premier CJRL team this season. We're putting on the pressure, and now the only question is: How long can the Crew take the heat?"
Taylor Out!--Terminator Owner Taking CJRL Transactions
In what can only be described as the latest coup in the CJRL, Larry Johnson has taken over as League Secretary, ousting former League Secretary Bob Taylor. "We've all had enough of Taylor and his pork-barrell spending. Taking trips all around the country at the CJRL's expense was the last straw" stated Larry Johnson, owner of the Terminators.
The change will occur as of Monday, June 19. Larry's phone number was emailed to all team owners on Saturday, June 17. In a last ditch effort to thwart the change in regimes, Taylor sent an incorrect phone number for Johnson to the team owners. Fortunately, League Security caught the error-filled email and sent a correction immediately.
A few reminders for making moves: If the machine answers, press 2 and hopefully you will go to Larry's second mailbox, which is for CJRL moves. If it doesn't, no big deal, just leave the message on the regular tape. Larry's wife's name is Kathy, and she will be happy to write down your moves. Remember, when leaving a move on the tape, state date calling, time calling, first and last name of players involved, and when dropping, state WAIVE, DL, or RESERVE. If you want, leave second choices just in case the player you want is not available, or if you lose in a FAAB bid. Both Kathy and Larry utilize the Internet, so the line may be busy from time to time. In an emergency such as that, you may email your move to Larry with a copy to Bob Taylor. Be sure to put "MOVE--OPEN AFTER 12" as the Subject line; and (VERY IMPORTANT): include the exact date and time you sent the email.
Transaction List
With Larry Johnson taking transactions, moves will be verified and teams will be notified of moves via this web site. Larry will not email the moves. The moves will be updated on this web site. Check the transactions daily to find out what moves have been made. It is found in our "League Business" section under "2000 Transactions". You may want to bookmark directly to the page for ease of use.
FAAB Totals and Sealed Bid Results are Updated
Both the FAAB Totals and the Sealed Bid Results pages have been updated. Both pages can be found in our "League Business" section.

Spiders Saddle Sore Over "Riders" Mix-up
Tim and Bill O'Reilly, co-owners of the Spiders, are complaining of gross negligence by their marketing department. During spring training, a standard inventory was made of all Spider promotional mmerchandise and it was discovered that all team logos read the "Riders" instead of the "Spiders". The error will cost Spiders ownership over $30 million, not to mention all of the time and aggravation the O'Reilly brothers will have erasing and re-writing each game program.
Bill O'Reilly reportedly called the company which made the errors, LOCO-FER-LOGOS, and spoke with company spokesperson Verna Lump. When asked what her company was going to do to rectify the situation, Lump stated: "Are you sure you didn't say 'Riders'?"
On a related note, Spiders merchandise is selling big out west. In Colorado, Spider caps, vests, and big-spongy-pointy-fingers are flying off of the shelves. New Spider fan Shane Biggs stated "I never liked those Spiders none. But them Riders, now there's a team you can sink yer teeth into."
Crew Trying For "Worst to First"
Joe Schott and his Cassville Crew are trying to make CJRL history by going from last place to first place in one season, and they are doing it in a big way. At times, the Crew has totalled 93 points, with their lead growing as large as 33 points. They are strong from top to bottom. This season, Schott has invested in a closer, going away from his "Dump Saves" strategy. He is also aided by a bargain pick-up of Andres Galarraga at $1.75 last year while Galarraga was recovering from cancer. Greg Maddux adds a potent starter to the mix. It would be hard to predict anyone catching the Crew this year.
Transaction List
This year we are keeping an updated list of transactions in a text file. Check it as often as you need to. It is found in our "League Business" section under "2000 Transactions".
