NEW TEAM DRAFT RESULTS

Sean Casey was plucked off of the Ladykillers roster with the first pick of the New Team Draft by the Hurricanes. The new teams may protect from zero to nine of their picks for their Protected Rosters, which are due Tuesday, April 10. If any LTC or FAAB players were chosen, they must be kept (Sean Casey and Rick Reed). All Long-Term Contracts, if any, must also be disclosed at this time, including the term and price of the contract.

NEW TEAM DRAFT--Took place via chat room (from our "League Business" link, go to the CJRL Meeting Room) on Friday, April 6, at 7:00 p.m. ***CURRENT CJRL TEAMS WILL PROTECT 8 PLAYERS FROM THE NEW TEAM DRAFT. THESE 8 NAMES MUST BE SUBMITTED TO ME VIA EMAIL OR PHONE BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4. I will email the protected names to the three new teams on Thursday, April 5.***

If I do not receive your protected list, the new teams will be able to choose from your entire team! Please be prompt with this list.

PROTECTED ROSTERS--All teams will submit their protected "freeze lists" to me by Tuesday, April 10. Each team may keep from zero to 15 players. Long-term contract players and FAAB long-term contract players must be kept at this point. Any new long-term contracts must also be noted (including term and new salary) or the player assumes the next year of the same contract.

If I do not receive your "freeze list", it is assumed that you are not protecting any players except for those under long-term or FAAB contracts. I'm not trying to get anyone, but this is difficult to organize, so I would appreciate everyone's help with being on time.

AUCTION DRAFT DAY--Friday, April 13. It will be at Joe's house (thanks Joe, and thanks to Don for being a backup), beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Again, make sure your information is in to me on time, and good luck.

LEAGUE OPENINGS

The Central Jersey Rotisserie League still has one opening, but it may only be around for a few hours. We have three teams interested in the one spot, and we are just waiting for confirmation. Still, you never know what can happen, so if you are interested in joining the CJRL, email me from the Terminators roster page as soon as possible.

Who are we interested in?
We are looking for an owner with the following traits:

  • Loves baseball
  • Loves rotisserie baseball
  • Loves Auction Draft Day
  • Is in the game for the fun and also the competition
  • Someone who plays fair but wants to win
  • Someone who is ethical in all dealings

    We are not interested in:
  • Someone who is unethical and will do shady things to win
  • Someone who sees Auction Draft Day as a bother
  • Someone who won't have fun playing the game

For us, fun and enjoyment are the number one priorities in playing the game. Winning is important, but it is secondary to fun.

If you are interested in joining our league, email Larry (Terminators) or Bob (Ladykillers) from our team pages under the Rosters link.

    NEW TEAMS ENTER THE CJRL

So far two new teams have joined the Central Jersey Rotisserie League for the 2001 season. Erik Yedwab and his Yankee Haters club will be going for the championship this year. Also, as a result of dissension in the Razmataz spring training camp, co-owner Dave Searle has sold his interest in the club to his former partner Don Gasparro, and has purchased an expansion team. When asked about this surprising development, Searle stated: "The shackles are finally lifted! Every year we have to keep Randy Johnson. I'm going with the young guns this season. Gasparro is going to have to look long and hard for a person to handle his pitching staff the way I did." Gasparro could not be reached for comment.

ALL ROSTER PAGES HAVE BEEN UPDATED AS OF MARCH 14, 2001

Cassville Crew Dominates the CJRL in 2000

Joe Schott, owner of the Cassville Crew, destroyed the competition during the 2000 season. His squad earned an unprecedented 90 points in winning the 11th season of the Central Jersey Rotisserie League. When asked how he did it, Schott stated: "We have scouts in Latin America. We work on the fundamentals of the game. And we also use 1-900-PSYCHIC".

It will be hard to beat the Crew in 2001. Many starters are back, and spring training has been outstanding so far. Scott and his team have their work cut out for them this season. The only question is whether or not there will be any competition.
