Behind Tonny Jensen, who posted a game-high 28 points, Newcastle prevailed for the first time at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre this season. The Falcons trailed for most of the game, but rallied in the fourth, with Butch Hays nailing two three-pointers before fouling out with two minutes left in the game. "Our contribution off the bench tonight was tremendous," Newcastle coach Shawn Dennis said. "The guys on the bench stood up to be counted and they grew in confidence." Said Townsville coach Mark Bragg: "Turnovers and I think we probably ran out of gas were telling factors."
