Perth completed its 10-day eastern swing by cruising by Newcastle. "I was disappointed again last night against Sydney but winning three out of four on this trip, where we decided to stay over, is a good result," Perth coach Adrian Hurley said. "It was a bit of a battle tonight and I was a bit worried about fatigue but it's a real relief to beat Newcastle because we lost twice to them last year." Said Newcastle coach Shawn Dennis: "We became sluggish and didn't go in for enough rebounds, we gave them too many second, third and fourth opportunities."
