Perth ensured Melbourne of an 0-2 weekend by spanking the Tigers in their own house by 23 points. Melbourne managed to get within six points in the third, but Perth used a 35-18 final quarter to ice the win. Todd Lichti led the Wildcats with 23 points on 11-for-18 scoring, while Anthony Stewart's solid form continued with a 21-point night. "Our defence won the game," Perth coach Adrian Hurley said.
