ILLAWARRA 121 - Melbourne 103

Import Clayton Ritter provided 28 points and Glen Saville charted 25 points, 10 boards and four steals as Illawarra cruised by Melbourne to snap its three-game losing streak. For the Tigers, Jarvis Lang, Mark Bradtke, Andrew Gaze and Lanard Copeland accounted for all but four of the team's points. "Diving on loose balls is how I get into a game, and from there the rest falls into place," Saville said. "I had more confidence tonight than I've had in the last few games. Our defence and rebounding was up tonight, and we were able to run the ball pretty well." Six Illawarra players scored 13 points or better.

Illawarra: Ritter 28, Saville 25, Edwards 16, Zauner 14, Johnson 14, Cooks 13, MacDonald 7, Armfield 2, Campbell 2.

Melbourne: Copeland 29, Gaze 28, Bradtke 23, Lang 19, Smith 2, Gordon 2.
