As it says on the main page, I was born on Tuesday March 23rd on the stroke of, er ... 2:30pm in Birch Hill Hospital, Rochdale.

I forget what the weather was like, but it must have been a great day? ;o)

As far as academic achievement goes, I was a solid underachiever. That's not to say I didn't get reasonable grades in examinations ...

My schooling started off at Oakenrod Primary School, continued at Redbrook Middle School - since demolished and the site of Rochdale's Cricket and Lacrosse clubs, and finished at Oulder Hill Upper School.

Completing my state schooling led to a job and the attendant professional qualifications of an engineering technician - taken at Rochdale Technical College (not equivalent to degree/university level if you're reading this from outside the UK) - BTEC Engineering HNC if you're interested.

I used to work, as a Draughtsman, for an engineering company near the centre of Rochdale - Carter Bros. (Rochdale) Ltd - a supplier of processing machinery to the world's rubber and plastics industries.

However, after being made redundant in October 2002, I was lucky enough to gain employment at Farrel Ltd., a (bigger) competitor to my previous employer, and as a Product Engineer ... which was nice.  :o)

And no, I don't work in rubber.

... I save that for the weekends.

Ok, not really. :o)

Still reading?

Why?

[thinks]

I bet you wondered where 'Why' had got to on the main page, didn't you?

No?

Oh, ok then. :o)
