Only Three Set New Season or Personal Best Time at Brookville
Krissy Kohorst, Katie McLin, and Nichole Simon!
While the Varsity was running up north at Malone, Wayne's team depth allowed us to race all the others runners at Brookville. This is always a great chance for some runners to take on the leadership role in a major race; to be the top seven! The Warriors found Brookville unkind to setting new season best (SB) times or personal best (PB) times. Only three of the 31 runners representing Wayne improved their times. That doesn't mean all 31 weren't trying, but special recognition should go to Chrissy Kohorst, Katie McLin, and Nicole Simon for running new SB's and/or PB's for the day! Congratulations girls. On another note, Michael Murphy and sister, Carla Murphy were the team leaders for the day. Michael was the top male runner in the varsity race and Carla was our top girl. Another positive in the boys results goes to two other freshmen who were in our top "7" best times for the day. They were Bryan Schenck (5th best)and Dennis Martin (6th best). First year sophomores Steve Bargo and John Hoffman were our 4th and 7th best times respectively. Kyle Trent was only 3 seconds off his best time ever. In the ladies competition, special recognition goes to the following runners too. There were three freshman girls turning in top "7" times. They were Robyne Hawley, Melanie Overton, and Nichole Simon. Sophomores Lizzy Benson-Landau, Sally Maki, and Stefanie Helton were all there too. If you do you math here, you'll clearly see that all top 7 will be returning next year! Wayne's future looks bright! Keep up the great work reserve runners!
