East Bergholt has the heaviest ring of five in the world (26cwt). The bells are are hung in a frame at ground level and are rung by a handle carved into the headstock of each bell.
Unfortunately, following an accident, it is quite possible that these unique bells will never be rung again.
The Suffolk Guild wishes to assemble as many records as possible so that in future it will be possible to see how they were rung. We therefore would like copies of any photographs, videos or sound recordings. If you have any of this material, please send me an email now.
