The Peruvian national captain has become a real favourite with the fans at St. James' park with his silky skills and agility on the ball. Solano was signed by Kenny Dalgliesh in the Summer of '98 for £4 million from Argentinian giants Boca Juniors.
Nobby is regarded as world class player and can play on either the left or the right, in midfield or sometimes defence.
One of his most memorable moments as a Newcastle United player was his free kick against Man United at St James Park in the 98/99 campaign.
Nicknamed "The Iittle Maestro" in his homeland after Diego Maradona saw him taking free kicks and gave him the nickname.
