  Alan Shearer. The name speaks for itself. If you don't know who he is (shame on you), here's some info on the great man. Alan started his career at Southampton. He shot to fame on debut when he scored a hat trick against Arsenal as an apprentice at The Dell. He stayed at Southampton until 1992 when Kenny Dalgliesh forked out a then British record £3.6 million pounds for the still emerging Shearer. 
  Dalgliesh was then delighted to pick up the finished product at Newcastle when he payed another record amount of cash, this time a world record, £15 million pounds for the England striker.
