  Another exciting youngster at St. James park, Paul really impressed Ruud Guliit in the pre season friendlies of the 99/2000 season, and was given his first start against Wimbledon when Alan Shearer was suspended and Duncan Ferguson was injured.
  Paul has lightning pace and was signed from Darlington on transfer deadline day 1998. Paul made his debut for the Quakers as a 16 year old in an FA Cup tie against local rivals Hartlepool. He was on a one year proffesional contract at Darlington before he joined Newcastle on a three year deal for an initial fee of £250,000.
  Paul was born in Sunderland and played a vital role in the reserves successful promotion campaign last year.
