A versatile player who can play in either a full back, centre back, wing back or midfield role, Newcastle have used him as a central defender and a wing back.   Laurent is a strong, fast and skillful player, he was named the clubs player of the month for December.    He caught the attention of United while on a five month loan spell at Chelsea.
