Let me introduce myself... I'm Chad Guge, Owner of this webpage! I'm from Rowley, Iowa, "Iowa's Best Kept Secret!" (Oops, not anymore!)
Read on to learn more about me and my life...
This is me, Chad Gerald Guge. I graduated in May of 1999 from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree in Geography-Secondary Education and a minor in Sociology. From there, I went on to interview at several high schools in Iowa, before landing a job at North Scott High School in Eldridge, Iowa (just north of Davenport).
I love sports, hangin' with friends, and getting involved in all sorts of organizations. My nickname in college was "Acronymn Boy" because I was involved in RIB (Recognition and Involvement Board), KDP (Kappa Delta Pi), ACES (All Campus Escort Service), GAI (Geographic Alliance of Iowa) and NRHH (National Residence Hall Honorary). This has continued on at NSHS. I am the advisor for National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serve as Building Rep for the high school in our local Teacher Association, and volunteer as an assistant freshman boy's basketball coach
Ladies and Gentlemen...There used to be a special part to my webpage here. However, Lissa and I have split up. It hurts, but so do all the lies she told me. S once again, I'm on the single life. I wish nothing bad upon Lissa...I hope she gets her life straightened out and finds the happiness I tried to show her.
These here are my parents. My dad works for the Iowa State Department of Transportation. And before I start getting hate mail, NO he does not work the construction that slows you down! He is a crew chief for a surveying crew. Mom stays at home, but is the city treasurer of Rowley!
They have had a HUGE influence on who I am today. They have been married for almost 30 years. I love them both to death, and without them, I would not be here today! Let's give them a big round of applause! (Clap now)
This here is my sister, Rachelle, and her husband Brian. They reside in Southeastern Iowa. Rachelle is a junior high school math teacher, and Brian works at a hotel. I don't think Rachelle realizes just how much of an impact she has had on my life. She is the best, and is one of the reasons why I went into teaching.
One member of her family I'm neglecting to mention until now is PIB, their cat. I'm allergic to her, and she knows that and runs in fear every time I show up. That cat does some crazy things, but she, all-in-all, is a good cat (as much as it pains me to say that!)

As you already know, I am a teacher. Teaching is probably the most underappreciated, underpaid, overworked profession in the world, and I am glad to be a part of it.
Well, I always told myself I didn't want to teach in a metropolitan area...but here I am at North Scott, only a few miles away from one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the State of Iowa! But I love it here, and often think about staying at NSHS for the rest of my career. But you never know what lies ahead... that is what makes life so fun!
"I want to coach, but my teaching comes first. I know so many coaches who are given the responsibility of teaching, and very few teachers who are coaches. I also want to be an advisor for National Honor Society, SADD, Peer Helper or a Social Studies Club. I have a plan in the making for a new type of club, and if I get a job, we'll see if it can get off the ground." I wrote this in college, and have realized most of it today. Teaching is more than bookwork, and that's what makes it great!
I would really feel guilty if I didn't give out a big HOWDY to all of my friends and students in Fairfield, Iowa, Home of the Fairfield Trojans! This is one of my 9th and 10th grade Global Environment classes (Sorry guys, but I only had room for one picture, and this one is the only one where you could see the students very well!)
I did my student teaching at Fairfield High School, and it was the best time of my life. Everyone from the teachers, administrators, parents, and students were the best, and I hope to visit them again soon! Check out their webpage at the address below. GO TROJANS!!!
