Edson Arantes do Nascimento
(Pele), born in octubre 23, 1940, in Minas Gerais (Brazil). When
he was very young, he went to live to San Pablo with his family, where
he started playing soccer.Cuando él era chico se mudo junto a su
familia a San Pablo, where he started playing soccer.
Pele started playing in
small teams. When he was only 11 years, he was discover by a famous soccer
players called Waldemar de Brito. He recomended Pele to the Santos club,
when he was 15 years.
In September 7, 1956 played
for first "vez" in the team of Santos. He had replaced to one of the attackers
called Vecchio. At this match he do 1 gol. Santos won (7-1).
In the next year he is in
the first team of Santos. He was the best striker, with 32 goals in the
Paulist tounament.
This years Pele was called
to the brazilian team. It was in July 7, 1957, when he was only 16 years.
In his first match with the brazilian team, brazil lost 2-1 against Argentina.

Pele played 4 World Cups:
Sweden 1958, Chile 1962, England 1966 and Mexico 1970. He do 12 goals in
14 matches of the next fases.
In the World Cup Sweden
1958, Pele started out of the first brazilian team. He started playing
in the first team, in 3rd match against Sovietic Union.
He started to be the star
of his team. He do a lot of goals. Brazil win the World Cup. The final
was agains Sweden (5-2). Pele do 2 goals.
In the World Cup Chile 1962,
Brazil started winning against all the teams.
Pele, its star, injured
and he had to abandone the World Cup, but Brazil hadn´t got problems
to win the Cup (In the brazilian team played a lot of stars. For example
Garrincha).
In the World Cup Mexico
1970, the brazilian team won it, with Pele. He was the world star.
After the World Cup, Pele
changed the team. His new team was the Cosmos oh the United States. He
played in USA for three years.
Pele won 3 World Cups (1958,
1962 and 1970). He do 1281 goals in 1363 matches.
In 1959 Pele make a record:
he do 126 goals in the Paulist tournament in 1 year.
In November 21, 1964, Pele
do 8 goals in a match (Agains Botafogo).
In November 19, 1969, do
his goal number 1000 against the Vasco Da Gama.
