Belt Test

What Will They Learn?

I do not focus on gaining belt rank. My focus is on gaining ability. However, once a youth student has attained the necessary requirements they will be permitted to test for youth belt rank. Youth rank is differentiated from adult rank in Black Dragon karate Schools and most legitimate karate schools.

In the Black Dragon Schools all youth rank belts have a white stripe which runs the length of the belt. Youth may earn adult ranking once they are able to compete against an adult.

Belt test requirements are included in the Student Handout given the first night of class.

Color Belt test are $10 which includes the belt and certificate.

This is just a sample of what our students learn.

Discipline: The students are required to follow the school rules.
The rules are explained in the Student Handout and explained the first night of class.
Dojo Etiquette: Students will address each other and the Sensei (Instructor) with respect at all times. They will be required to remove their shoes and neatly place off to the side prior to entering the practice area.
Self-Confidence: In time, the karate student learns the control they have within themselves. This will translate into all aspects of their life.
Self-Defense: We will talk about stranger danger, what to do if approached by someone they don't know and other safety knowledge.

The student will also learn self-defense techniques appropriate for their age group. These techniques will be the type that have been found to be the most affective in situations against other youth, as well as, adults.

Traditional Karate: History, kata, sparring and philosophy of Isshinryu karate. Some of our traditional karate will be taught with non-traditional drills.
