The Wanderer - 28 December 1998
Mainline Steam Trust’s Ab 663, bound from Masterton to Napier, is shown here pulling into Ormondville for morning refreshments on 28 December 1998.
Background scenery includes, from left, the early days of ORPG’s favorite flower garden, the toilet that features in many station stories, the former Putorino water tank awaiting its legs, the newly restored ‘Kopua’ wagon hut and assorted wagons.
Some of the large trees in the background were felling by a gale that also badly damaged the good shed’s main doors in about August 1998.
