Rating: * 3/4 Match observations: We are just one day removed from Slam Masters: Crunch Time, and we're now on the Road to Super Cade I! Super Cade is the big one here in Great Lakes Wrestling and with the matches we already have signed for that big event, there's no doubt that we're going to deliver! We had a big night of action on our hands tonight though, so let's get right to it! Colorado Kid came literally within a second of winning the Television Title last night from Pierre Oulette in that Four Corners Match, and we learned earlier in the day that he's going to get a rematch one-on-one with Oulette for the TV Title at Super Cade I in an Iron Man Match! C-Kid was happy to hear that announcement, and it showed in his in-ring performance tonight as he had no problem disposing of "Iron" Mike Sharpe courtesy of the Rocky Mountain Flattop. Next up we had a GLW debut from Flash Flanagan who took on K.C. McCulloch, who hasn't been able to find hise groove yet here in Great Lakes Wrestling. He didn't find that groove tonight, as Flanagan was on fire looking to impress GLW brass with his performance. He was nearly overzealous though as he hit McCulloch with a dragon suplex and had his own shoulders on the ground, but he got his up in the nick of time and picked up the win. Impressive debut fro Flash Flanagan. We saw the official unveiling of the new attitude team of Skank and "Superstar" Steve Boz, who fooled everyone (especially Gutterboy), and the Chicago, Illinois crowd was not very receptive. That seemed to bother the Superstars of Grunge who are used to having the crowd behind them, and it showed as they took on Suicidal Tendencies, Rob Carlin & Air Paris. This was a very even keel matchup between these two teams that almost went 20 minutes, and the Chicago crowd loved every minute of it. Eventually this match came to an end after Carlin went for a top-rope Frankensteiner but Skank was able to reverse it into a power bomb and picked up the win for his team. You may not like the new attitude, but they did look impressive. Just like on every show, the Television Title was on the line here tonight as champion Pierre Oulette defended the title against Erik Watts. Not only is Oulette the Television champion, but he is also undefeated thus far in the GLW, and he looked to keep that streak in tact tonight as well. Watts looked pretty good in this one, and even was able to hit Oulette with his Urange finisher, but Oulette was too close to the ropes and got his foot on the bottom one. Watts was positive he got the victory and celebrated prematurely, which gave Oulette time to recover, hit a flurry of offense, hit the Cannonball, and get the win. Watts could have won the title tonight if he stayed focus. Back to the drawing board though as Oulette continues to roll. Up next was an interesting interview with "Greatness Himself" The Perfect Creation along with Mike White and Big Titan, the #1 contender for Masato Tanaka's World Title at Super Cade I. This was awkward as it was obvious that TPC and Big Titan don't really like each other, which they made abundently clear, but they do have a common goal, and that's the demise of Gran Hamada and World champion Masato Tanaka, both of which they challenged to a tag team match as our main event tonight! It'll be interesting to see how well these two coexist against two superstars who are not only good wrestlers, but good friends as well. "The Juice" Juventud Guerrera just won't leave Indiana Kidd Jr. alone, and that trend continued here as Indiana Kidd Jr. locked up one on one with Sebastian P. Sterling, The Perfect Creation's running buddy. This was a very back and forth matchup until Guerrera showed up down at ringside. It was obvious what his intentions were too as he went straight for the timekeeper's table, grabbed his chair, went into the ring, and just belted Indiana Kidd Jr. with it right in front of the referee, causing the blatant disqualification. The beating wasn't over though as Juvy cracked Indiana Kidd Jr. with the chair another 3 times before letting up. As a result of this, GLW President Ryan Niemiller has booked these two to face each other at Super Cade I, but with the special stipulation of this being a Ladder Match! At the top of the ladder you ask? A contract for a Television Title match the next night on Explosion, regardless of who the champion is! What a match this will be! Our next match was a definite shocker by all accounts. Scott & Steve Armstrong had a huge opportunity by getting a World Tag Team Title against the Headhunters. The match went on and it was a good one, but apparantly Ace Darling & Devon Storm took offense to the Armstrongs receiving a title shot since they beat the Armstrongs last night, albeit very underhandedly. Ace Darling grabbed the ref's attention while Storm jumped in the ring and went to superkick Scott Armstrong but missed and hit one of the Headhunters instead! Scott clotheslined Devon Storm out of the ring and then hit Headhunter B with a savate kick and got the upset win and became the new GLW World Tag Team champions to a huge ovation from the Chicago crowd! Ace Darling & Devon Storm were beside themselves, but the anger soon came to fear when the Headhunters started chasing after them! Ace & Devon pissed off two guys that you really don't want to piss off. Mark "The Shark" Schrader is about to the breaking point with Midwestern champion Doc Dean and Brian Adias, who once again got involved in his business. Schrader went one-on-one with Juventud Guerrera here on Explosion, and was once again screwed by Adias; last night it was out of the Midwestern Title, tonight it was out of a big match. After a very competitive match, Schrader finally looked to have Guerrera down when he hit the Schrader-plex, but Doc Dean pulled the ref out of the ring. Schrader tried to get after the Midwestern champ, but Brian Adias came from behind and planted him with a Tombstone piledriver! Juventud Guerrera added a Juvy Driver for good measure, and after Doc Dean kindly let the ref back into the ring, Juvy picked up the win and Schrader once again got screwed. The Extremists keep sinking lower and lower. All day the red hot Rhino had been begging and pleading for a match with Ken Shamrock, the only man that's been able to beat him thus far in the GLW. GLW President Ryan Niemiller granted him his wish, but he may regret the decision now as it turned out to just be a huge setup. Rhino was introduced first, but when Shamrock was introduced, The World's Most Dangerous Man was nowhere to be found. Nobody knew what was going on, and Rhino was getting anxious for some action. He got on the mic and began to berate Shamrock when "The Roaddog" Jesse James Armstrong, Shamrock's good friend, came down and took Shamrock's place. This was a fast and furious matchup. Rhino may not have gotten Shamrock like he wanted, but he got all he could handle and then some. The Roaddog was able to get Rhino down and looked to be moving in for the kill when the video wall came on to show all of the Extremists - Lance Storm, Jonny Storm, Devon Storm, Ace Darling, and even Dawn Marie - beating the living crap out of Ken Shamrock! Roaddog started to leave the ring to go help his friend, but Rhino grabbed him from behind and split him in half with the Rhino Gore! Needless to say, Rhino picked up the victory. The Extremists were shown laughing in the back at what just happened. Sickening... simply sickening. On a happier note, it was main event time, and what a charged matchup this one was! "Greatness Himself" The Perfect Creation & Big Titan had challenged Gran Hamada and World champion Masato Tanak earlier in the night, but it was obviously then that they weren't on the same page and it was even more painfully obvious that they weren't on the same page in this match. They had their string of runs, but neither one wanted to tag out and they just all together didn't get along. The final straw came near the end of the match after the referee had been knocked out. TPC saw this opporunity and grabbed the ring bell and told Titan to hold Hamada. TPC cocked back and swung, but Hamada slipped out and the ring bell slammed Big Titan instead! Tanaka came in and tossed TPC out of the ring while Hamada hit the Swinging DDT on Titan and the revived ref counted the 1-2-3! After the match, TPC and Titan got into a huge argument. TPC made the mistake of pushing Titan which just got the big man upset, who grabbed TPC by the throat and then set him up for the Power Bomb when Sebastian P. Sterling ran from the back, grabbed the ring bell, and cracked Titan in the skull with it! Titan was stunned, but his pain soon turned to anger as he went after Team Perfection, who wisely exited the ring, post haste. So much for that alliance. After the show, the first matches for Super Cade I, live on March 23rd from the home of the GLW, Chicago, Illinois, were announced, and they are big ones! Without further adieu, here they are: World Title - Masato Tanaka (c) vs. Big Titan The Perfect Creation vs. Gran Hamada Television Title Iron Man Match - Pierre Oulette (c) vs. Colorado Kid Ladder Match (TV Title contract) - Indiana Kidd Jr. vs. Juventud Guerrera Falls-Count-Anywhere Match - Mark Schrader vs. Brian Adias More matches will be announced as we get them.
