Tkachuk's Hockey Bio
I know, he isn't a Penguin, but he is still my favorite player.
(Don't worry, the Pens are still my favorite team!)
I got NHL96 last year for Christmas and I started playing for the
Western All-Stars, and I really didn't understand much hockey,
but the name Tkachuk-(ka chuck) really stood out. That name has always
fascinated me, and that is why I got his home jersey this year for
Christmas. It set me back a few presents, but I didn't really care.
Keith Tkachuk was voted to the All-Star game this year,
but still hardly anybody knows about him. He placed seventh on the season scoring list last year, and
he lead the NHL
in goals last year with 52, and he is only the 24th player
in NHL history that has scored 50+ goals in consecutive years.
At this All-Star Game in Vancouver, Tkachuk scored two goals
and assisted on one goal, but that wasn't enough for him to get
the MVP award, which he should have gotten. I can see why Selanne
got it but, his team lost and Tkachuk's won. Also, last year
The Hockey News Magazine voted him the NHL's player with the highest
IQ(Intimidation Quotient) for the third time in four years, with Lindros
winning the strike-shortened year. The IQ is based on by multiplying
his goal total by three and adding amended PIM - misconducts. Tkachuk
won by a large margin, beating Brendan Shanahan, 314-242.
On reason Tkachuk does so good is because he hardly ever misses a game.
He played in all but 3 of the Coyotes games last year.
This
is why Mr. Tkachuk is my favorite player.
