Strokes Erg-A-Thon Committee Launches Fund Raiaing Effort The 1998 premier fund raising event: the Strokes Erg-A-Thon, is set for Sunday, December 6, 1998. An extremeley ambitious goal of $75,000 has been established by the committee and reaching the goal will require maximum effort by all. The Erg-A-Thon is like a walkathon, except the participants use a rowing machine (a.k.a. concept II ergometer) rather than walk. Requests for donations based upon each Stroke's participation in the Erg-A-Thon are sent prior to the event, to family and friends of the Strokes. The committee is attempting to refine and enlarge upon last year's superb program. We hope to reach an even larger group of possible donors by asking each Stroke family to spend more time compiling their mailing list and by writing the names and addresses of potential donors on mailing labels (which will be supplied to all rowers) thereafter bringing the preaddressed labels to practice on November 7. You will receive a packet with blamk mailing instructions early in November. All rowers should have their mailing labels completed before friday, November 5, 1998.
