THE RYNO
Bio
You may call the Ryno the most hardcore man on the planet and he'd probably agree with you.
But it wasn't always that way. Coming from one of the most boring places in the United States,
the state of Ohio, Ryno was pretty much an outcast. He was somewhat a weakling that was
ignored throughout school. This would bring about some anger and the way he discovered to
deal with his pent up frustration was to break things and hit himself. His irratic behavior would
confuse and sometimes scare people. He was a huge wrestling fan ever since the day he was
born so one day he decided to become a professional wrestler at all costs. After graduating high
school at 17, he took the next year and a half to train and get hired by federations. At about 19
1/2 he was hired by the HWA and before his 20th birthday he was hired by the MMP. The
rest, you can say, is history.
MMP Career History
After participating in Chaos on the Coast as a member of the Hardcore Wrestling Alliance,
Ryno eventually signed an MMP contract in early June. His first match as an MMP wrestler
was a win over Psychotic Sam that ignited one of the hottest feuds the MMP has ever seen.
Before the rematch could take place at BattleGround (Ryno would lose the rematch), Ryno was
double-crossed by fellow Disposable Heroes member Jeremy Grieve who turned on Ryno
during a tag match to join Mr. Marvellous and High Society, Ryno's arch-rivals from the HWA.
After BattleGround, Ryno took a month off from active competition to prepare for a Desert
Death match with Grieve at Apocalypse in Arizona. Ryno went on to defeat Grieve for the
universal championship and held the title from mid August until late November, defending it
against such top challegners as Virus Richards, Mr. Marvellous, and Wolverine. Ryno was the
last man to be eliminated from the giant MMP/GWF battle royal at the Best of the Best PPV
and challenged the winner, Patrick O'Conner, to a return match, putting the universal title on the
line. O'Conner tossed Ryno over the top rope again to win the title. Ryno met Masochrist at
Season's Slayings for the world title, but was pinned by Masochrist after getting dropped into a
dumpster filled with broken glass. Attempts to win the vacant midwestern and extreme titles in
early 1999 failed, and Ryno began teaming with O'Conner when a tournament was held to fill
the vacant tag team championships in early '99. After advancing to the second round of the tag
team tournament, Ryno achieved the ultimate goal, capturing the world title in a ten man tag team
match at Main Event Madness that featured the top ten wrestlers in the MMP at the time. Ryno
and O'Conner would advance to the finals of the tournament before losing to Harbinger and The
Destroyer in the final round after interference from Aries. In the weeks following Ryno's title
win, a mysterious man calling himself "Son of Slam" and "Sarah's Secret Admirer" began taunting
Ryno, challenging him for the world title. That man revealed himself to be Masochrist at March
Mayhem as the two battled to a no contest. The two met again at Homicidal Tendencies in a
Last Blood Match that Masochrist won to take the title. After apparently quitting the MMP,
Ryno made his return at The Parade of Champions, facing O'Conner for the world title in the
final match of the three-day event. O'Conner won the match, but that didn't stop Ryno from
joining O'Conner's "Untouchables" stable at the end of the night. Ryno quickly took up the Untouchables cause, launching a series of attacks on members of The Syndicate that saw him knock Inferno out with a parking meter and send Virus Richards through a glass door. He finally managed to get a match signed with universal champion The Bootlegger, but outside interference helped Bootlegger retain the title at Chaos on the Coast. Believing that Bootlegger couldn't beat him without help, Ryno campaigned to get another title shot. He lost key matches against Steve Simon and The Regulator, but eventually earned another title shot against Bootlegger and Psychotic Sam at BattleGround 2. Little did Ryno know, the match was a setup with his two opponent double teaming him before escaping the match together. His quest for one more shot at Bootlegger continued into August. He managed to get a Jailhouse Match against Bootlegger, only to have the match end in a forfeit when Bootlegger no-showed for the match. Ryno did score a measure of revenge, teaming with Captain Patrick O'Conner to defeat Bootlegger and Virus Richards in the main event of MMP Apocalypse. After the break-up of The Syndicate, Ryno pulled out of The Untouchables to go it on his own, but fell into a losing streak around this time, dropping matches to Onyx Cooper, The Destroyer, and The Bootlegger. He joined The Congregation in October, but the losing eventually became too much for Ryno to deal with, and the former world champion attempted to commit suicide by hanging just prior to a scheduled match against Virus Richards. He was then committed to a mental institution that forced him to not only miss his scheduled tag title shot at the Moonlight PPV event, but almost all of the remainder of 1999. His only contact with the MMP came in the form of tapes of therapy sessions sent to the MMP by Ryno's psychiatrist, Dr. Patton. Dr. Patton, feeling that it would help Ryno's progress, did grant Ryno the chance to return to the ring at Season's Slayings. Ryno, who did not know he had a match until the day of the event, was signed to face The Joker's Child, a man who had tormented not only Ryno, but also Ryno's former ally Mack, for the better part of the year. He broke his losing streak with a win over Joker at the PPV, but the full time return didn't come until March 2000, when Ryno defeated Mr. Beumont. His return to action brought with it an unlikely ally, as Ryno soon became the full time tag team partner of his hated rival Masochrist, forming the latest incarnation of The Congregation. The team failed in several attempts to capture the tag team championship, and after Super Cupid returned to the MMP Masochrist turned against Ryno at WrestleFest 2000 during a tag title match, leaving the former world champion to stand alone once again. He feuded with Twisted Steel and Adam Kogler throughout the summer, but had little success. After capturing the extreme title Ryno found himself back in the world title hunt, receiving two chances at the belt on pay per view, however he was unable to unseat The Cult Master as champion. A feud with Andrew Peters, the referee who had cost Ryno his first title shot, proved unsuccessful, as Peters defeated Ryno in their only one-on-one encounter. At the final MMP event, Final Judgment, Ryno lost the extremt title to Psychotic Sam, who captured his sixth extreme championship in that match.

They Said It...
"I first 'met' this man in the MMP/GWF Battle Royal. Although I was victorious in that battle I
instantly respected his skill and tenacity. A truely hardcore competitor, the Ryno has always
fought for what he thought was right. He has held the top three Championship belts in our
federation, the World, Universal and the Extreme. A warrior with heart." -- Captain Patrick
O'Conner
"The Ryno has a fair amount of talent. He's massive and powerful but agile and very quick for a
man his size. He's a skilled brawler but he'll occassionally suprise you with a masterful technical
display. While his skills are simply not on my level, he has compiled an impressive record here in
the MMP and gained the respect of his peers." -- "Corrupt" John Korso
"Despite his false claims of being the greatest extreme wrestler
in the MMP, The Ryno stands as one of the greater competitors in the MMP. He always presents a challenge and is never to be taken lightly........." -- The Destroyer
