MMP Saturday Night Slams is on the air! The MMP Coliseum is sold out with more than 15, 000 fans stirring in anticipation of tonight’s event. Commentators Jerry Wood and Ray Brewer are at ringside.
Wood: Welcome, everyone, to MMP Saturday Night Slams! I’m Jerry Wood alongside Ray Brewer where tonight, only a week away from the biggest Saturday Night Slams card the world has ever seen, we have two huge title defenses scheduled to take place. We’ve got a little taste of hardcore action for you here tonight in our main event with the long anticipated return match between Psychotic Sam and The Destroyer. The ring ropes will be surrounded in barbed wire when Destroyer tries to avenge his loss to Sam a few months ago at The Parade of Champions when Sam captured his third of what has since become four extreme championships.
Brewer: Keep in mind, Wood, when Sam won that title, Destroyer had already participated in five other high profile matches in the previous forty eight hours. Sam had done battle only once. Tonight they’ll be on an even playing field, and with Sam sending out a challenge to Captain Patrick O’Conner for our October PPV event, this will be a big match that he will need to win in order to prove himself as one of the top guys in the MMP. The Destroyer is focused, and it’s hard to go against a man that size when he’s on his game.
Wood: Another big rematch we have tonight has Dr. No Limit doing battle with his former ally in The Untouchables, Wolverine. These two men have met a couple of times in the past, with Wolverine coming out on top on both occasions. DNL was awarded the midwestern title when Wolverine was unable to defend it due to injury a few weeks back, and tonight the man from New Orleans will attempt to solidify his hold on the title with a win over the man who benefited from his misfortune. Our opening contest pits two MMP newcomers going one on one here this evening. Both Hassan Abu Saada and Leonard “Cup” Cooper pulled off victories at last week’s Hardcore Saturday Night event and will look to continue their run of good fortune against one another here this evening. Let’s go to the ring.
HASSAN ABU SAADA vs. LEONARD “CUP” COOPER
Cup was preparing to make his entrance backstage with his “manager” Rusty the Dog when, out of nowhere, George Achica came charging in on him, nailing him with an avalanche against the concrete wall of the arena. MMP officials arrived on the scene to hold George back, but the damage had already been done. Cup was hurried to the paramedics station and, in the meantime, his opponent was introduced. Hassan Abu Saada made his way to the ring first accompanied by four Egyptian slaves. The slaves took ringside and Hassan Abu Saada stood in the center of the ring, facing the entrance ramp. Leonard's music blared over the loud speakers and he was chasing Rusty to the ring. The dog had one of his boots in his mouth and Cup was hobbling his way after him, evidently still feeling the effects of the attack by Achica. The dog got into the ring and dropped the boot within a meter of Hassan. Cup tried to grab the boot, but Hassan didn't wait. He kicked the boot aside and grabbed Cup by the neck, lifting him over his head and slamming him down across the ring. Cup looked paralyzed as Hassan slowly walked over to Cup and rested his sandle on the forehead of Cup as the ref counted the 1...2...3. Afterwards, Hassan spoke to one of his slaves in Arabic and the slave carried Cup over his shoulder, out of the ring and into the backstage area.
Wood: So thanks in part to a little help from George Achica, Hassan Abu Saada has earned another victory here in the MMP. It looks like maybe Cooper was a little too concerned with his boot and should have paid a little more attention to the match.
Brewer: This guy Cooper is starting to remind me of Mr. Beumont. How he beat Lardzilla is beyond me. We’ve got too many damn drunks in this company. Before you know it, guys are going to start wearing red and black spiked shoulder pads, bringing snakes to the ring, and yelling “Hey yo” before their matches. It’s time to start weeding these guys out.
Wood: I don’t know if comparing Cooper to Beumont is necessarily fair. Cooper did, after all, beat a five hundred pound man on Hardcore Saturday Night last week. Perhaps this was just not his night. Speaking of Beumont, I understand that our cameras have caught up to the CWO backstage.
Brewer groans loudly.
Wood: What’s going on back there?
A luggage trolley is back in the locker room area with an MMP attendant wheeling in bags for several MMP stars when Mr. Beumont came running up and started demanding to know where his luggage was. The attendant explained that he didn’t have any luggage, but while his back was turned, China Town Lee shouted instructions at the other CWO members to set the other bags on fire. William and Richard set the bags ablaze before the attendant realized what was going on, grabbed a fire extinguisher, and doused the flames. The CWO then took off back to their dressing room while the nervous attendant checked the tag to see that the bags belonged to The Congregation. Before the CWO got very far, they were met by The Saint. The group started back to the locker room when, out of nowhere, they were ambushed by a large group of Cult followers, led by Harbinger. The Cult members smothered The Saint and the CWO in chloroform soaked rags and, one by one, dragged them out of the arena and loaded them into a large white van. Harbinger locked the door shut and one of the followers jumped in and drove off with the Family members subdued in back.
SOUL CRUSHER vs. HYOGA
Neither man was hesitant in locking up, but it was Soul Crusher quickly taking the early advantage. He delivered a kick to Hyoga’s knee before nailing the Swiss star with a running clothesline. Soul Crusher didn’t let up, stomping away on Hyoga’s head before pushing his opponent out under the bottom rope with his boot. Hyoga tried to regroup, but Soul Crusher didn’t let up, grabbing Hyoga and slamming him face first into the steel ring steps before rolling him back into the ring and delivering a brainbuster suplex. Hyoga was clearly overmatched and Soul Crusher knew it, quickly locking him in the German Clutch. Hyoga didn’t hold on long in the unorthodox armlock submission hold and soon tapped out. Soul Crusher released and made his way to the back with a triumphant look on his face. Hyoga slowly pulled himself up, but before he could get back to the locker room, Tao Te Ching ran in and nailed him across the back with a kendo stick. He continued slamming the stick into Hyoga’s back until the lights went out. Ten seconds later, Hassan Abu Saada came to the ring with two slaves carrying Cup over their shoulder. Two other slaves quickly came down and attacked Tao, allowing Hyoga the opportunity to regroup and make his way out through the crowd. Hassan pulled Cup and Tao over to the ropes, and tied both of them in position before grabbing the microphone:
Hassan Abu Saada: You poor fools, both of you are scum to the earth that I walk on. I am the future of the Midwestern Mayhem Promotion. Not scum like this southern cowboy trash, or this hypocritical Taoist ninja, they are NOT the future. I hereby face to all of you MMP losers out there, that this is my land now. This is MY ring, and this is MY world. My debut here in the MMP was the dawning of a new era, it was the reckoning of the earth. My stay in the MMP is FOREVER! I drip my urine on cowards such as "The Conman" Wang Chen, and Hot Crimson, yet they don't deserve what ails them! I am the "CRIPPLER", and I will soon drive all you MMP losers into ETERNAL SLAVERY!
The lights went out for another ten seconds and by the time they came back up, the ring had been cleared of all the Egyptians. Hot Crimson was now in the ring holding a steel chair in hand. After freeing Tao and Cup from the ropes, Crimson tossed the chair aside and called his opponent down.
HOT CRIMSON vs. HARBINGER
With Crimson already waiting in the ring, Harbinger rushed down to attack him but Crimson quickly stepped out of the way of Harbinger’s initial charge and caught the rabid man with a legsweep. The momentum of the move send Harbinger rolling out under the bottom rope to the floor, but Crimson didn’t stop there. He followed Harbinger out to the floor and raked his opponent’s eyes, nailing him with a low blow and slamming him face first into the post before sending him back into the ring. Crimson was all over Harbinger in the early going. Once back in the ring, he nailed Harbinger with a swinging neckbreaker followed by a legdrop before applying a dragon sleeper. Crimson kept the hold applied for several minutes, inciting the fans to start a “bor-ing” chant. Crimson didn’t seem to mind, and kept his focus on the match, wrenching Harbinger’s head and neck back further and further. The referee checked on Harbinger to see if he wanted to give it up, and it didn’t look good for the Cult member. His arm dropped once. It dropped twice. It dropped…on the third try, Harbinger shot his arm straight up in the air. Reaching over, he raked his fingers deep into Crimson’s eyes, forcing him to relinquish the hold and giving Harbinger a chance to regroup. Crimson advanced on him, but Harbinger caught him with a solid elbow to the midsection as he pulled himself up and used a series of rapid fire kicks to back Crimson into the corner. He then used his bare hands to choke Crimson against the buckle before climbing to the second rope and digging his front teeth deep into Crimson’s forehead. The referee soon stepped in to pull Harbinger off, but Crimson was staggered and dizzy. Harbinger pushed the ref aside and slapped on a claw hold, wrestling Crimson to the canvas and encouraging the crowd to start up another “bor-ing” chant. This time it was Crimson using a rake of the face to break the hold, but it wasn’t enough to sway the momentum of the match. With blood dripping down Crimson’s forehead, Harbinger pulled his opponent up and nailed him with a piledriver. Harbinger had things well in hand when he started running back and forth off the ropes. Crimson started back to his feet as Harbinger built more and more momentum. When Crimson got back to a vertical position Harbinger dove at him with a flying forearm, but Crimson ducked out of the way and Harbinger crashed hard to the canvas behind him. Still regrouping, Crimson grabbed Harbinger from behind and nailed a German suplex before pulling him up again and connecting with his trademark double-arm DDT. Rolling Harbinger over, Crimson covered him for the 1…2…3. Harbinger tried to roll out of the ring, but Crimson grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back in, raking his forehead with a small razor blade. As blood poured out from the open wound and onto the mat, Crimson slurped some of it up before taking off back to the dressing room.
Wood: Another victory for Hot Crimson, who has been moving up the rankings quite quickly over the past couple of weeks. I’m starting to think it might not be too long before we see Crimson getting back into the title hunt here in the MMP. He has been impressive over his past few outings.
Brewer: I’m starting to wonder about this little ritual Crimson’s doing with the blood sucking. Does he think he’s some kind of vampire or what? If he’s trying to scare people backstage, he’s going about it the wrong way. A real man isn’t intimidated by some freak just because he likes to lick blood. I think he’s trying to cover up other shortcomings if you ask me.
Wood: Ray, the last thing you need is to be making any more enemies around here. You found out exactly what Super Cupid thinks of you last week, and you’ve been having differences with John Korso for quite some time now.
Jerry Wood’s commentary is interrupted by the sound of Aries’ music blaring over the loudspeaker. Making his first appearance since being injured by Psychotic Sam a few weeks back, Aries came down to the ring on crutches and accompanied by Mr. Marvellous, who grabbed the mic:
Mr.Marvellous: OK all you slobs and waists of space. The Beast from Greece wants to address all you sorry excuses for life.
Marvellous hands the mic over to Aries:
Aries: Since my match with Psychotic Sam, I have been thinking. I have been thinking about where I have gone wrong in life. I have been thinking about my career, and I feel it is time to let go of something. Marvellous, you have done wonders for me, but in the last year you have held me back. I have gone from a two time world champ to a man who stands here before you as a one legged gimp.
Mr.Marvellous: What the hell are you trying to say?
Aries: As of NOW, Marvellous, I think we should go our separate ways.
Mr.Marvellous: TOUGH SHIT. I MADE YOU AND YOU’RE MINE.
Aries dropped his head and then looked at Marvellous with a crazy look in his eyes. Mr.Marvellous continued to push him in the chest and talk.
Marvellous: You, pal, are never leaving. I made you what you are today. I won those two world titles. I did everything for you.
Aries snaps, grabbing Marvellous by the throat. He punches him in the gut and then Godly Drops him.
Aries: I AM THE BEAST FROM GREECE AND YOU ARE FIRED. YOU DID NOT MAKE ME. I AM MY OWN MAN. FROM NOW ON I MAKE MY OWN DECISIONS. WITH OUT ME, MARVELLOUS, YOU’RE THE ONE THAT IS NOTHING.
Aries tossed the mic aside and walked out, leaving Marvellous laying in the ring.
Wood: It looks like High Society is officially dead. After many, many years together, something that insiders said would never happen has finally happened with the association of Mr. Marvellous and Aries coming to an end here on Saturday Night Slams. What will this mean for the “Beast from Greece”. Having never seen him without Marvellous, it should be interesting to see what happens with Aries now that he’s fending for himself. We’ve got tag team action up next. Ray’s good friend John Korso and George Achica will do battle with Legion of Heroes members Ying and Yang with a chance to move up in the tag team ranks on the line.
THE DEADLY SYNS vs. THE FIGHTING HEROES
Ying and Yang made their way down first, accompanied by Masked Man X and Mighty Midget. John Korso’s music then hit over the loudspeaker and the two outcast Syndicate members made their way down to the ring, with George clearly playing second fiddle to his new boss. After going over some last minute points, Korso ordered George out to the apron and started the match himself, against Yang. The two men locked up, but it was Yang that got the early advantage, wrestling Korso down to his knees in the grapple, seemingly bringing more to the table than Korso was ready for. The former world champion, however, was resilient and powered his way back to his feet, driving a knee into Yang’s midsection to break the hold. Korso then hit his stunned opponent with a legsweep followed by an elbowdrop before heading over to his corner and tagging in his giant Samoan partner. Looking down on Yang with contempt as he stepped through the ropes, slapping George on the back in encouragement. As Yang pulled himself back to his feet George attempted a superkick, but it was clearly a move that was not within the big man’s capabilities. He was slow in his attempt, allowing Yang to duck away and nail him with a cut block directly to the back of the knee. George went down hard while Yang reached out and made the tag to his partner Ying. While George was trying to pull himself up, Ying bounced off the ropes and caught his opponent with a running bulldog. The Heroes were taking over on George, while Korso looked on from the apron, shaking his head. Capitalizing on the big man’s position, Ying grabbed George’s bad leg and wrenched the knee before delivering a series of kneedrops to the exposed quadricep muscle of Achica. The Heroes made another exchange and Yang got back into the action with an elbowdrop across the leg before slapping on a figure four leglock. Wincing in pain, George fought hard to reverse the hold, but Yang’s positioning made it difficult for him to do so. Getting frustrated on the outside, Korso shouted at George to “fight YOUR fight”, and it seemed to motivate the big man to get back into it. Instead of trying to counter with a leglock of his own, George pulled himself up into a sitting position, reached over at Yang, and nailed him with a hard right hand to the face Two more shots broke the hold, and George used the ropes to pull himself back to his feet. He charged Yang and nailed him with a running lariat before rolling towards his corner. George reached up and made the tag to Korso, but at the same time Yang made an exchange with Ying. Ying flew into Korso with a series of kicks that backed Korso into the corner while George and Yang regrouped on the outside. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Soul Crusher came running down to the ring through the crowd and nailed George in the back of the leg with a metal pipe. George fell off the apron in a heap on the floor and Crusher dropped his calling card that read “You have been paid a visit by the Devils Advocate Soul Crusher how does it feel to have a price on your head???” With George down, Yang was able to get involved in a double team. After making the tag, Yang went to the top rope. Ying tossed Korso off the ropes and then dropped down in front of him. When Korso hopped over Ying, Yang came off the top with a missile dropkick, but Korso saw it coming and dropped to the mat, causing Yang to land awkwardly, jamming his leg on the canvas. A Korso dropkick put Ying out to the floor, leaving the injured Yang to fend for himself. Korso wasted no time, quickly grabbing Yang and hitting a snap suplex before connecting with the Hollow Point. Covering Yang and hooking the leg, Korso nodded along with the ref as he made the three count.
Wood: So that makes two wins in two weeks for The Deadly Syns, who are on a bit of a roll heading into their title shot next weekend against Virus Richards and The Joker’s Child.
John Korso sits down and joins the broadcast team, sending George to the back.
Brewer: Well, well, look who’s here. Hey, Korso, I think maybe you’d be better off preparing for the tag team champions next week than sitting out here and disappointing my admirers by making them listen to your nonsense. Beating the Upstanding Citizens will be a little more difficult than the CWO or Masked Man X’s little stooge buddies.
KORSO: Keep up that disrespectful tone, BREWER, and I'll tear through you like you were a tissue at a snot convention.
Wood: Gentlemen, please, we have a midwestern championship match coming up next. Mr. Korso, any thoughts on this much anticipated match between Dr. No Limit and Wolverine?
KORSO: The lone remaining MICHIGAN OUTLAW is on quest for a belt that has about as much meaning as a bowling trophy. His impressive career has really gone downhill since I flushed him back on the JANUARY HARDCORE SATURDAY NIGHT.
Brewer: It’s one more championship than you currently hold, Johnny boy.
Wood: Before you two go on, can we send it to the ring. We’ve got a big title match ready to get underway.
MMP Midwestern Championship Match
DR. NO LIMIT (C) vs. WOLVERINE
While Brewer and Korso continued their argument at the announce table, Wolverine made his way to the ring with Ying and Yang, who seemed a little off after losing their match against The Deadly Syns only moments earlier. The trio stopped in the runway and looked back to the dressing room, wondering as to the whereabouts of Masked Man X. When MMX failed to show, the trio continued down to ringside, preparing Wolverine for his chance to become a three time MMP midwestern champion. A camera backstage soon picked up what had happened to MMX, showing Scott Worth standing over MMX with an axhandle in hand and with MMX cuffed to a door near the dressing room area. DNL then made his way out with his usual entourage of Perry Sanders, Zane, and Charles, and looked quite confident as he stepped through the ropes. Wolverine didn’t want to wait and immediately lunged at DNL with a Thesz press, but the champion ducked out of the way, causing the over zealous Wolverine to hot shot himself on the top rope. This mistake gave DNL an opening, allowing the champ to take over the early part of the match. He grabbed Wolverine and pulled him over to the corner, slamming him repeatedly head first into the top turnbuckle before clamping his hands around his former ally’s throat and started choking him down in the corner. The referee started the count and DNL released before the disqualification, but the damage had been done. Wolverine fell to the canvas in the corner, and DNL was relentless. Grabbing Wolverine by the leg, he tied the challenger upside down in a tree of woe before jumping out to the floor. DNL grabbed Wolverine around the neck and tried to wrench him back, but before he could do any further damage, Yang jumped up on the ring apron and unhooked Wolverine’s feet from the turnbuckle. DNL was livid, but before he could react, Zane and Charles jumped in and attacked Ying and Yang, starting up the third big brawl between those four men in as many weeks. Realizing that his plans had been thwarted, DNL slid back into the ring, but Wolverine had had a chance to regroup and was ready for him. He caught DNL with a knee to the head as he entered before hitting him with a back suplex. Wolverine then mounted his opponent, using a blatant chokehold to drain the life out of the champion. Not wanting to risk a DQ, Wolverine quickly released the hold and pulled DNL back up…only to nail him with a big running clothesline that knocked him through the ropes out to the floor. Following him out, Wolverine grabbed DNL and dropped him throat first across the safety rail before Perry made his move. Wolverine turned and saw him, telling him to back off, but the distraction allowed DNL to rake Wolverine’s eyes and toss his opponent back into the ring. DNL was slow to follow, and again it cost him. Wolverine was back to his feet by the time DNL got back in. This time he dropped an elbow across the back of DNL’s neck as the champion got back in the ring, and Wolverine looked about ready to capture the gold as he pulled DNL up again. Using the middle ropes for a springboard, he nailed DNL with a back elbow to the jaw before going for the finish. He tossed DNL off the ropes and went for a heart punch, but at the last minute DNL hooked Wolverine’s arm and turned the move into a dragon suplex. Wolverine hit hard, and DNL saw his opportunity. Pulling Wolverine up, DNL nailed Wolverine with the Limit Driver, hooked the leg, and scored the three count to retain the title.
Wood: So despite a spirited effort from Wolverine, DNL has retained the midwestern championship. He now moves on to face Harbinger for the title coming up next weeked on the Saturday Night Slams Championship Six-Pack special live from the MMP Coliseum. Now that John Korso has been escorted away, do you think you can compose yourself, Ray?
Brewer: I’m so sick and tired of having these guys come out here trying to get themselves over by interfering with my work. If not for hard working men like me, this business would have died out years ago. Now I’m not one to sit here and complain, you know I’ve had no problem stepping in the ring to defend my good name, so here’s what I’m proposing. John Korso, Super Cupid, you both think you’ve got what it takes? Saturday Night Slams, October 2. You guys one-on-one with myself as the special referee. The winner, and I guarantee that there will be a winner, faces me at the October PPV. The winner of that match gets the job as color commentator of SNS. That’s right. Cupid thinks he can take me? Korso thinks he can do this job? Let’s see who’s got what. Put up or shut up, boys. That’s what we did in the old days. It’s time to see if today’s so-called wrestlers have the manhood to do the same.
Wood: I wish you would give this a rest? Remember why you retired in the first place? I’m sure both of those guys will jump at the chance to get their hands on you after everything that’s happened over the past couple of weeks. It’s main event time, folks. The ring ropes are being replaced with barbed wire as we speak. Psychotic Sam and The Destroyer are set to do battle for the extreme championship live on SNS!
Barbed Wire Match
PSYCHOTIC SAM (C) vs. THE DESTROYER
The Destroyer made his way out first, being followed by an unusually large group of Cult followers. The men, all dressed in identical Cult garments, surrouned the ring as Sam came down. After the abduction of The Saint and the CWO by Harbinger and The Cult earlier in the evening, only Mike the Giant Retard, who was carrying Harold the Fish. Sam had the extreme title around his waist, Marbels in one hand, and Loui Slugger, known as AJ by Sam, wrapped in barbed wire in the other. As Sam stepped through the ropes, Destroyer produced a stuffed cat from behind his back, a toy that looked identical to Marbels. He tore the toy in half sending stuffing all over the ring before pointing at Marbels and telling Sam that the same thing would happen to his cat. Sam started panicking and grabbed AJ, charged at Destroyer, and nailed him in the kneecap with the bat with such speed that Destroyer was unable to dodge out of the way. Destroyer dropped to his knees but Sam didn’t let up, cross-checking Destroyer with the bat, sending him over the top rope to the floor. Sam followed him out, grabbing a steel chair away from the timekeeper and going after Destroyer, but the big man saw him coming and caught Sam with a hard kick to the midsection, causing Sam to lose his grip and drop the chair on the floor. With Sam stunned, Destroyer grabbed the extreme champion in a bearhug and hoisted him high in the air, running forward and ramming Sam’s back hard into the steel ring post. The force behind the near 500-pounder’s charge caused Sam to fall limp in the challenger’s arms, and Destroyer simply dropped him to the concrete floor. The challenger then reached into the ring and grabbed a large handful of the plush stuffing from the cat he had brought out and started cramming it down Sam’s throat. With the champion coughing violently and struggling to breath, Destroyer tossed Sam back into the ring before going over to one of his followers and grabbing a large board wrapped in barbed wire. In the meantime, Mike passed Harold the Fish into Sam, who was still struggling to clear the stuffing out of his throat. With the board in hand, Destroyer stepped confidently back through the ropes, but when he approached Sam, he was met with a vicious shot to the groin with Harold and the heavy wooden plaque he was mounted on. The big man doubled over in excruciating agony as Sam grabbed AJ once again and went back to work on Destroyer’s knees. Then, using all the strength he could muster, Sam dragged Destroyer over towards the ropes and wrapped the barbed wire of the ring ropes around his throat, trying to choke the very life out of his massive opponent. Destroyer was reeling, and Mike grabbed the chair off the floor and passed it in to Sam. Destroyer was crawling back to his corner as Sam moved in on him, but when Sam got close enough, Destroyer swung around and nailed him with a boot to the midsection before cracking him across the skull with the board. Sam went down hard and Destroyer again reached to the outside, grabbing a metal cheese grater from one of the followers. After raking the grater across Sam’s face, Destroyer reached under the ring and pulled out a large white sack. Reaching into the bag, Destroyer pulled out a large handful of salt. Waiting for Sam to turn around, Destroyer tossed the salt directly into the champion’s face, filling his many open wounds and causing Sam to try and desperately wipe his face, which was burning with pain. The big man came up on Sam from behind and grabbed him by the back of the neck, delivering an inverted chokeslam that dropped Sam directly onto the barbed wire board. Destroyer rolled Sam over and covered him for the three count to capture the title for the third time. The Cult followers filled the ring in celebration as the screen fades to black.
