MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament – Round Robin Match MASKED MENACE X & WOLVERINE vs. INTOXICATED
The CWO came to the ring first, with Beumont and Cooper dressed in rapper clothing and dancing down the aisle. Welfare William followed closely behind, walking slowly and wearing a black sumo thong. They got in the ring and started to dance, but Wolverine and MMX attacked immediately, putting an abrupt end to their performance. Wolverine dropkicked Beumont in the back of the head, sending him to the outside before grabbing Cooper and delivering the Michigan Death Driver! A cover and an easy three count followed, giving MMX and Wolverine the victory.
MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament – Round Robin Match HARBINGER & THE DESTROYER vs. THE ORDER
As Harbinger and Destroyer were making their way to the ring The Order came running out from the dressing room and attacked the Cult duo from behind. Tao quickly grabbed Harbinger, his opponent later on SNS, to the ring while Dragonfly remained to battle Destroyer. The mismatch between the two on the outside quickly became apparent as Destroyer easily overpowered Dragonfly, slamming him to the floor with a big belly to belly suplex. He then continued down towards the ring where Tao was controlling Harbinger. A dropkick put Harbinger down and Tao applied a leg grapevine to slow the action down. Tao didn’t realize that Dragonfly had been taken out by Destroyer, and never saw the big man coming as he entered the ring and dropped a big elbow across Tao’s sternum to break the hold. Harbinger then mounted Tao and started choking him out while Dragonfly tried to get in the ring. A big forearm from Destroyer sent Dragonfly down into the rail with a forearm before switching with Harbinger. He grabbed Tao and applied the Will Breaker while Harbinger kept Dragonfly occupied on the outside. Realizing that he still had a TV title defense to come later during the evening Tao quickly tapped out, giving The Cult the victory.
MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament – Round Robin Match THE DOMINION OF DOOM vs. HASSAN ABU SAADA & HOT CRIMSON
Death opened up against Crimson, looking to avenge his recent loss at the Daark Ages PPV event. He rammed a knee into Crimson’s midsection and slammed him down before dropping a leg across the chest and making the tag to Daark, the world champion. Daark went right at Crimson with a spinning heel kick but Crimson ducked, sending Daark over his head and down to the canvas. Crimson then rushed to the corner and tagged in the universal champion at the same time that Daark made a quick tag back out to Death. Hassan was waiting for Death and floored him with a clothesline, and then went over to the Cult corner and knocked Daark off the apron with a forearm to the head. As Daark fell to the ground, a scantily-clad Egyptian dancer came down the aisle. Hassan followed Daark out to the floor and the two traded punched back and forth on the outside, leaving Death and Crimson to battle in the ring. The dancer jumped up on the apron and grabbed Death by the arm, spinning him around to face her. While Death was distracted Crimson snuck up from behind, spun the man around, and delivered a double-arm DDT! He then made the cover and, for the second time in the week, scored the pin over Death.
BENJAMIN CHILDS vs. IZZ AMAZING
The two men opened up brawling in the middle of the ring, but it was the underdog Izz that got the early upper hand. He scooped Childs up and slammed him down to the canvas, but Childs shot back to his feet almost immediately. Izz then whipped Childs off the ropes and went for a dropkick, but Childs held onto the top rope and Izz landed flat on his back. Childs capitalized quickly, pulling Izz back to his feet and delivering a backbreaker. Childs maintained contact, though, and delivered a second backbreaker and then a third before driving him to the canvas with a side slam. Rolling Izz over onto his stomach Childs delivered a big elbow across the back, and then pulled Izz back to his feet for a powerbomb. Childs lifted Izz high in the air, but Izz was able to slide out of the hold, hook Childs by the head, and drive him to the canvas with a bulldog headlock. Izz was getting his second wind and pulled Childs up, sending him off the ropes for a clothesline…that Childs ducked. Childs then delivered a boot to the midsection and lifted Izz in the air, driving him down with a running powerbomb! Childs hooked the leg for the three count to secure the win.
MMP Saturday Night Slams is on the air! More than 15, 000 fans have filled the MMP Coliseum for tonight’s event. Commentators Jerry Wood and Ray Brewer are at ringside.
Wood: Welcome, everyone, to MMP Saturday Night Slams! I’m Jerry Wood alongside Ray Brewer where tonight, only days removed from Daark Ages, we have a big night of action lined up for you live from the MMP Coliseum. We have two championship matches lined up this evening, and in our main event it will be one-on-one with The Regulator taking on the newest member of The Cult, a man who came within an eyelash of winning the midwestern title at Daark Ages, Death.
Before Brewer can continue, “Paint it Black” blared over the loudspeaker and The Bootlegger made his way down towards the announce position. The top half of his head was covered in the mask he had stolen from MMX on the last SNS card. He stole the chair from under one of the ringside officials and joined Wood and Brewer.
Bootlegger: "Hey RAY, how's it going?"
Brewer: Welcome Gene, good to see you out here. These weeks when I have to work with Wood twice in such a short span really can grate on the brain. What brings you out here tonight?
BOOTLEGGER: "Well, since my challenge to that peon, CULTMASTER, went unanswered I found myself with nothing to do this weekend. But I realize that no Saturday Night Slams is complete without an appearance by yours truly, so I've decided to grace you two good gentlemen with my expert color commentating."
Wood: I wasn’t informed of this. You have no business being out here Mr. Barlotta, and what’s with the mask?
Bootlegger: "Well, last week as you two may have noticed, that once masked peon leader of the Incredible Shrinking Stable dropped his face. I've been... holding it for him since then, keeping it warm."
Wood: Well now, isn’t that considerate of you. I’m sure MMX really appreciates that. We’re ready to get things underway here tonight, and we kick things off with Ambush taking on Mr. Beumont. Ambush surprised a lot of people at Daark Ages by pulling out a win, albeit by disqualification, over The Regulator, and I have to be honest when I tell you that I really don’t think Beumont will be quite as much of a test as Onyx Cooper was a few days ago.
Bootlegger: "This is a sham, just a sham. Mr. Beaumont does not and WILL not EVER belong anywhere near an MMP ring. This Ambush pleibeian isn't much better. I couldn't care any less who wins this... but if i did care... I'd say Ambush takes it."
Wood: That’s a pretty daring prediction to make, Bootlegger. If this is the kind of expert commentary you plan to offer tonight I’m sure this will be a very informative evening indeed. Let’s go to the ring for our opening bout!
AMBUSH vs. MR. BEUMONT
With Ambush already waiting in the ring, “Come Out and Play” by Offspring started to play as Beumont made his way down to the ring wearing cut-off denim shorts, a plaid shirt around his waist, and a black leather jacket. He slumped into the corner yelling out “nevermore” over and over again, while an obese, homely girl in the front row wearing a State of Minnesota ball cap and an old Moonelf t-shirt trying to get over the guardrail, shouting that she loves Beumont. Beumont didn’t want to get up and just kept yelling “nevermore” over and over again, so it was up to Ambush to drag him out of the corner. Ambush grabbed Beumont and yanked him out, dropping him down hard to the canvas. He then pulled Beumont up and delivered a snap suplex before locking on the Shotgun. Beumont tapped out almost immediately, and Ambush scored yet another victory. After the match Beumont slid out to the floor and walked over to the girl in the front row, but he told her that she was too old and walked back to the dressing room.
Wood: Looks like you’re on a roll already tonight, Mr. Barlotta. Have any other insights to offer us before we continue?
Brewer: Hey, listen Wood, Gene and I are quite capable of carrying this broadcast on our own. Your feeble attempts at humor are starting to make me thing it might be worth having security remove you, so just keep your comments to a minimum if you don’t mind. What’s coming up next?
Wood (after a brief hesitation): The television championship is at stake next, with new champion Tao Te Ching putting the title on the line. What was announced after Daark Ages as being a triple threat match between Tao, Aries, and Harbinger is once again just a singles encounter between Tao and Harbinger as Aries is not in the arena tonight due to travel complications. Mr. Barlotta, I’m sure you have something to add.
Bootlegger: "Ah, Steve's proteges (Snicker)battling against my most recent victim. I'll have to admit these Order midgets aren't half bad as a team. But when it comes to one on one, they bend over backwards quicker than one of that Egyptian's little ten year old concubines. Harbinger isn't much better, though. BUT, he has displayed more of a killer instinct lately.... maybe tonight it'll finally get him somewhere."
Wood: That remains to be seen, but this could be Harbinger’s best chance to get his hands on a singles championship. He’s had shots in the past, but as Bootlegger has pointed out, Harbinger has looked a lot better in the ring of late and this could well be his night. Let’s go back to the ring and see if it will be The Organization or The Cult heading out of SNS tonight with the TV title.
MMP Television Championship Match TAO TE CHING (C) vs. HARBINGER
With Harbinger already in the ring the new champion made his way down, flanked by his tag team partner The Dragonfly, the reigning midwestern champion Hot Crimson, and Organization spokesman Jim Krieger. The new champ didn’t waste any time going after Harbinger, spearing the challenger at the knees. Looking to avenge The Order’s loss against Harbinger and Destroyer earlier in the tag tournament, Tao dragged Harbinger over and draped his throat across the top rope before running off the other side and coming back, jumping over the top and pulling down on Harbinger’s head and neck and he went to the floor. Harbinger’s head snapped back and he fell to the canvas as Tao consulted with Dragonfly on the outside. The champ then hurried up to the top rope and came off with a missile dropkick but Harbinger brushed it off, causing Tao to land right on the back of his head. Harbinger was all over Tao from there, choking the champ with both hands until the referee came in and ordered him to break. Harbinger looked up with a crazed expression on his face and broke the choke, just to change over and start gouging at Tao’s eyes with his uncut fingernails. This time the official had to physically get involved, yanking Harbinger off his opponent. The ref was able to calm Harbinger down, but the challenger didn’t stop there. He pulled Tao up and laid into him with a series of kicks to the ribs that backed Tao into the ropes and took him over with a quick suplex before going up to the top rope. Tao staggered back to his feet and Harbinger jumped off with The Omen, driving Tao head first into the canvas!! Dragonfly reacted quickly, sliding into the ring and grabbing Tao around the ankle, pulling him out to the floor to prevent a pinfall. Harbinger was furious, and quickly took the action to the floor. He nailed Dragonfly with a couple of forearms to the back of the head, but was stopped when Hot Crimson delivered a clothesline to the back of the head. Crimson then rolled Harbinger back into the ring while Tao pulled himself together. The champ followed, but Harbinger was ready for him, raking the champion’s eyes as he entered. Harbinger then ran off the ropes and caught Tao with a flying crossbody, but Tao rolled through and held Harbinger in a pinning position. The ref never saw Tao pulling the tights as he counted the 1…2…3, allowing Tao to retain the title.
Wood: Tao Te Ching is still the MMP television champion, but with more than a little help from his Organization cronies on the outside. I thought Harbinger had the match won with The Omen, but I guess when you have strength in numbers like Tao did tonight, it really can make a difference in the outcome of the match.
Brewer: Hey Wood, as I’m sure Gene will tell you, a win is a win. If The Cult is just going to stand backstage and leave Harbinger on his own while Tao Te Ching surrounds the ring with Organization members, well, I guess that’s their prerogative. It’s a good thing that Cult members don’t have a mind of their own, or Harbinger might be pretty angry with the lack of support he received tonight.
Wood: If I were you, Ray, I’d watch what I said. You heard The Cult during the week, and they aren’t taking too kindly to some of your remarks.
Brewer: Hey, if they have a problem with someone exercising his right to free speech, well, that’s not my fault. I’ll be happy to see their MMP contracts terminated. We’ve got another title match coming up now, don’t we Wood?
Wood: That’s right, the midwestern title is on the line next, and Bootlegger I know you have a particular interest in this upcoming contest that puts Inferno in the role of challenger once again, trying to capture gold from Hot Crimson.
Bootlegger: "Haven't I already seen this match? Once again, whenever a Cartel member is involved, the outcome is a foregone conclusion. We've had our bumps, but in the end it is always a Cartel member who walks away with his hand raised."
Wood: That remains to be seen, although there’s no doubt that Inferno has the ability to defeat Crimson and bring the midwestern title to The Cartel as The Bootlegger has suggested. But will tonight be the night he gets it done? I guess we’re about to find out.
MMP Midwestern Championship Match HOT CRIMSON (C) vs. INFERNO
Crimson and The Order were already waiting in the ring when Inferno’s fiery phoenix blazed overhead. The big man came quickly down to the ring and quickly nailed Crimson with a big boot to the face even before the opening bell sounded. He then delivered a kneedrop across the throat, holding it down in a chokehold until the referee cut in to break it up. Inferno shrugged away from the ref and pulled Crimson up, whipping him across the ring into the far turnbuckle. He then charged in with an avalanche but Crimson moved out of the way and caught the dazed challenger with a flurry of right hands to the face. A headbutt from Crimson slumped Inferno back into the ropes where the champ sent Inferno across the ring into the far side, catching him on the rebound with a drop toehold that he quickly turned into an anklelock submission hold. Inferno quickly scampered over to the ropes to break the hold, but when he was slow getting to his feet it was clear that the hold had taken it’s effect. Crimson tried to pick up the pace to take advantage of the injured ankle and charged Inferno with a clothesline, but the challenger ducked under and hooked Crimson in a full nelson. He dragged Crimson out to the center of the ring before slamming him down to the mat and dropping a leg across the throat. Inferno then pulled Crimson up and stood him against the ropes where he delivered a clothesline that sent Crimson over the top to the floor. Bootlegger tossed his headset aside and started over towards Crimson, but The Order was there to cut him off, forcing Bootlegger to stay at the announce position. In the meantime Crimson made his way back into the ring but Inferno was there waiting for him, stomping him in the back repeatedly as the champ tried to pull himself up. Inferno then helped Crimson back to his feet and caught him with several stiff jabs to the chest before whipping him off the ropes and catching him in a sidewalk slam. Then, with everything seemingly in control, Inferno pulled Crimson up and set him up for the All Nighter. He got Crimson up, but before he could drive him down the champ took Inferno over with a huracanrana! Inferno had a stunned look on his face as he snapped up into a sitting position, but he was quick to get back to his feet. When he turned to face Crimson he was caught with a quick boot to the midsection and the double arm DDT! Crimson then rolled Inferno over and made the cover for the 1…2…3!!
Wood: Your winner and still champion, Hot Crimson of The Organization! Looks like things didn’t quite work out as you planned tonight, Mr. Barlotta. Your Cartel is going to have to put forth a better performance than that if you hope to pull out the next match, pitting the new MMP extreme champion Virus Richards against a member of Menace 2 Society in Wolverine.
Bootlegger: "This isn't even funny. Wolverine is in DEEP over his head. I mean... was he suicidal when he and that buffoon, the former MMX formed that idiot stable? This will be the final nail in S.A.C.'s coffin. The quickest a "stable" has ever disappeared in the MMP, hehehehehehehe."
Wood: Of course the title will not be on the line tonight, and that could be a good thing for Richards. Wolverine looked solid in his win over Ben Childs at Daark Ages, and Virus left a lot all over the Target Center in that gruelling match against Psychotic Sam. This is good timing for Wolverine, and could make him a prime candidate to pull a minor upset here tonight.
VIRUS RICHARDS vs. WOLVERINE
The camera picked up a backstage shot of Virus making his way to the ring with the extreme title belt around his waist. Before he could get to the entrance, though, Wolverine attacked from behind and nailed him over the back of the head with a crowbar. He dragged Virus through the curtain and down to the ring, where he cuffed the extreme champ to the ropes. A second crowbar shot knocked Virus senseless, and Wolverine walked quickly back to the dressing room. He re-emerged a short time later, this time driving a pickup truck with manure in the truckbed. With Virus nearly unconscious Bootlegger got up from his announce position to try and help his Cartel ally, but The Annihilator jumped out of the passenger side of the truck and ran down to the ring to attack Bootlegger. A forearm to the back of the head put Bootlegger down and Annihilator, standing over the Italian, finally removed the hood that had concealed his identity for so many months, revealing Terminator underneath! Terminator turned back and waved the truck down to the ring, but while his back was turned Bootlegger reached over to his seat at the announce table and grabbed a taser off the seat. He jabbed the gun into Terminator’s back, dropping the former MMP superstar to the floor in spasms. Inferno then pushed his way past the truck in the aisle with bolt cutters in hand and joined Bootlegger in freeing Virus from the cuffs. The trio made their exit through the crowd before Wolverine could pull up at the ring.
Wood: Virus Richards is the luckiest man in this entire arena! I can smell that manure all the way over here! At least now we’re free to continue this broadcast without Gene Barlotta’s constant interruptions.
Brewer: Hey, you call them interruptions, I call it intelligent insight, something that this show sorely lacks at times when you get going on some of your rants. What the hell is Wolverine thinking bringing a truckload of manure out here? That’s the last thing we need is having this arena smell like The CWO for the rest of the evening.
Wood: Up next we’ve got a return match from a contest several months ago in the Hall of Fame tournament. “Stunning” Steve Simon defeated “Amazing” Andrew Peters in an early round showdown in the tournament that was eventually won by Masked Menace X, but Andrew Peters has contested that result ever since. Simon was anxious to prove that the win was legit, and the two are ready to settle things once and for all here tonight. Let’s go to the ring.
”STUNNING” STEVE SIMON vs. “AMAZING” ANDREW PETERS
Peters came to the ring first, accompanied by his lovely valet Amanda. The two walked arrogantly down the aisle, drawing a lot of hatred from the sold-out crowd. “White Wedding” then played as Steve Simon made his way out, accompanied by Nicky, the young boy who had been tagging along with him over the past week. Simon stopped along the runway and pointed out an obese woman in the crowd, telling Nicky that the woman is probably what his mother looked like. The two continued down to the ring and after leaving Nicky standing in a corner, Simon went around the ring and started hitting on Amanda. Peters, who was in the ring, saw what was happening and quickly jumped down to the floor to chase Simon away. Simon backed off, but while Peters was checking to make sure that Amanda was OK, Simon returned and nailed Peters in the back of the head with a leg lariat. He rolled Peters back into the ring and started to circle the outside again, but he stopped in his tracks when he spotted a woman standing in the front row shouting at him. Simon snickered mildly as he came to a halt in front of the woman, and then turned quickly and slapped the woman right across the face! The woman fell back into her seat and Simon motioned for two men who were working crowd security and demanded that they remove the woman at once. They did, and Simon turned and entered the ring, where Andrew Peters was waiting on him. He nailed Simon with a series of knife-edge chops that backed the “Stunning One” into the corner before grabbing him by the head and whipping him out with a snapmare. Peters then dropped a knee across Simon’s chest before pausing momentarily to absorb the hatred of the crowd. He pulled Simon back to his feet and scooped him up for a shoulderbreaker, but Simon managed to escape by sliding down the back. He spun Peters around as he landed and nailed him with a clothesline before sending him through the ropes to the floor. Simon quickly followed, grabbing Peters and slamming him into the ring apron before pulling him up on the apron and positioning him for a brainbuster that would drop Peters head first onto the concrete floor. Seeing that Peters was in trouble Amanda quickly hurried over and grabbed Simon’s leg, distracting him enough to allow Peters to fall back into the ring, landing on his feet. Simon snatched his leg free and made a kicking motion towards Amanda to send her back to her corner, but while his attention was diverted Peters grabbed him from inside the ring and delivered a swinging neckbreaker that sent Simon off the apron and down to the floor. Peters jumped down to the floor and grabbed Simon by the hair, slamming him head first into the safety rail before tossing him back into the ring. As Simon rolled towards the center of the ring Peters dropped a knee across the back of his opponent before slowly pulling him up once again. As soon as Simon was back to his feet, though, he ducked under Peters’ arm and locked on the Hollywood Stretch!!! Peters fought to reverse it but Simon quickly reached his leg around tripped Peters’ feet out from under him, driving him face first into the canvas. Simon kept the hold locked on, and with the two men positioned in the middle of the ring, Peters had no choice but to tap out, giving the win to “Stunning” Steve Simon. Simon walked off triumphant with Nicky, while Amanda stepped into the ring to assist her man. Suddenly, the fans about ringside parted as someone was coming down to the ring. Izz Amazing hopped over the guardrail with a steel chair in hand, slid into the ring, and cracked Peters right across the back with it! Amanda quickly covered Peters to prevent any further attack, and Izz walked back to the dressing room satisfied that he had done what he came to do.
Wood: Looks like Izz Amazing didn’t want to wait until the Invasion in Munich to get his hands on “Amazing” Andrew Peters. We know that those two men will hook up when the MMP holds it’s first-ever European pay-per-view event coming up on February 23, but if the sneak attacks keep up at this pace – Peters last week and Izz here tonight – they might not make it to Germany.
Brewer: That’s gonna be a big match for both men come the PPV, but we just witnessed a damn fine contest right before our very eyes here tonight. Steve Simon wins again, upping his mark to 2-0 against Andrew Peters, and perhaps showing this Peters guy that there’s a big difference between holding championships in small-time backyard feds and being successful here in the big time. Steve Simon’s been there, and he knows what it takes. That’s not to say that Peters won’t get there someday, but he’s gotta realize that this is a much different playing field than he’s used to.
Wood: It’s main event time here on Saturday Night Slams with The Regulator set to go one-on-one with the man known as Death. Both men came out on the losing end Wednesday night at Daark Ages, and will no doubt be looking to get back on track with a win in this very high profile match here tonight.
THE REGULATOR vs. DEATH
The two men locked up in a test of strength as the opening bell sounded, but given his substantial size advantage, Death easily overpowered Regulator and drove him down to one knee. Death looked very confident as he drove Reg down, but the lapse in concentration allowed Reg to free his left hand and armdrag Death over. Death shot back to his feet but was met with a dropkick that put him right back down. Reg then grabbed Death and whipped him off the ropes, catching him with a drop toehold that brought Death down throat first across the middle rope on the other side. With Death gasping for air Reg hurried over and started choking Death on the middle rope, causing the referee to intervene early and pull Reg off of the illegal hold. Reg wasn’t happy with the referee’s involvement and got right in the official’s face, warning him to stay away from him or face the consequences. The distraction of the referee was just the opening Death needed. He got back to his feet and laid into Reg with repeated right hands, backing him into the far turnbuckle. He booted Reg in the midsection and then hoisted the much smaller man up onto the top rope where he delivered a superplex that sent Reg half way across the ring. Death didn’t let up there, quickly walking over to where Reg lay and dropping a knee across the throat and holding it in a choke position. As happened earlier in the match the ref intervened again, however Death was more accomodating and less threatening than Regulator had been earlier. Death broke the hold and dropped an elbow before making the cover, but he would only get a two count before Reg kicked out. Just then the fans along the runway stood up, letting the television audience know that someone was coming out. That someone was Daark, the MMP world champion, and he was wielding a steel chair. With the match well in hand Death pulled Reg back to his feet, but Reg stunned the Cult member with a hard boot to the midsection and a quick swinging neckbreaker. He then dropped a leg across the back of Death’s head before applying a bodyscissor submission hold. Death fought to free himself from the hold, but Reg responded by reaching out and grabbing the bottom rope for extra added leverage. With such a blatant violation of the rules going on right in front of him the ref had to step in and break the hold, but The Regulator was furious. He jumped to his feet and got in the ref’s face again, but this time he didn’t hold back. He kicked the ref in the midsection and delivered The Break, his patented cradle neckbreaker!! The ref was out, and Death was just now pulling himself together. Reg waited for Death to get up and delivered a weak kick to the gut. Death easily caught the boot, but was knocked silly by the back brain kick that followed. After dropping three quick elbows to the back of the head, Reg slid out of the ring and started searching for something underneath it. He finally found what he was looking for…a fire extinguisher! In the meantime, though, Daark had slid the chair he was carrying into the ring, right next to Death. Regulator stalked his motionless opponent with the extinguisher raised above his head ready strike, but just before he could get a blow in Death quickly spun around and jammed the chair into Reg’s midsection, causing him to drop the fire extinguisher. A second blow to the top of the head put Reg down, but Death didn’t stop there. Setting the chair on the canvas, he pulled Reg over and delivered the Death Drop right onto the steel, slamming Reg’s skull against the chair yet again. On the other side of the ring Daark was shaking the referee to revive him and tossed him over to where Death was making the cover. The ref didn’t see the chair as it was covered by the two men and counted the three, declaring Death the winner as the screen fades to black.
