MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament - Round Robin
Match
THE DOMINION OF DOOM vs. INTOXICATED
The house lights went out and Intoxicated made their way down first,
accompanied by Welfare William. Will, with his already ample waistline enhanced by two
pillows, was wearing a black suit - the type a mortician might wear - led the way for
Beumont, wearing a long black trenchcoat, and Cooper, who was in a black singlet with a
strap over only one shoulder. Beumont climbed the ring steps and stood in the corner,
slowly raising his hands to bring the lights back up. The two waited for their opponents
Daark and Death, now known as The Dominion of Doom. As soon as the two Cult
members arrived Cooper walked right over to Daark and made a grossly exaggerated
chokeslam motion. The world champion responded by delivering a spinning heel kick
from his standing position, a kick that caught Cooper square in the jaw. He then turned
and floored Beumont, who had tried to get a shot in from behind but was too slow to do
it, with a right hand while Death grabbed Cooper. Holding true to their promise to make
quick work of Intoxicated, Daark and Death wasted little time in their assault. While
Daark kicked Beumont in the corner, Death pulled Cooper up and delivered the Death
Drop. From there it was a cover and an easy 1...2...3 securing the victory for The
Cult.
MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament - Round Robin
Match
HASSAN ABU SAADA & HOT CRIMSON vs. MASKED MENACE X &
WOLVERINE
Hassan moved in to lock up with Wolverine as the opening bell
sounded, but the Detroit native was quick to dodge out of the way, catching the big man
with a couple of stiff kicks to the leg before backing him against the ropes and tagging in
MMX. The two men whipped the universal champ off the ropes and attempted a double
clothesline, but Hassan ducked underneath and reached out to tag Crimson as he
rebounded off the far side. He put on the brakes as MMX and Wolverine turned around,
flooring Wolverine with a boot to the face as Crimson entered the match and assaulted
MMX with a barrage of punches. The TV champ stumbled back into the ropes and
Crimson whipped him to the other side. MMX, however, reversed the whip, and Crimson
was sent crashing into the referee. The official went down, but before MMX could react
he was met with a solid blow across the back of the head from Hassan and his golden
scepter. The universal champion grabbed the referee and tried to shake him back around
as Crimson rolled MMX over and made the cover. Wolverine attacked Hassan from
behind with a knee to the back, sending the Egyptian to the outside. He then followed his
opponent to the floor, and the two men brawled back up the runway. In the meantime,
though, the referee had shaken himself loose and made the three count on MMX to give
the win to the members of The Organization.
MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament - Round Robin
Match
THE BOOTLEGGER & "STUNNING" STEVE SIMON vs. THE
ORDER
Hot Crimson, who had been victorious in his match just moments
earlier, accompanied The Order to the ring for what could have been their toughest match
to date. Bootlegger and Dragonfly approached one another in center ring as the bell
sounded, with both men extending a hand to the other. Both, however, had the same
double-cross in mind. They each went for a kick to the other man's midsection but
Bootlegger, being the taller of the two, got his shot in first and quickly caught Dragonfly
with a DDT. He then pulled the man up and applied an abdominal stretch, reaching out
and grabbing the top rope for extra added leverage. The referee soon caught on to the
illegal tactic and ordered Bootlegger to release the hold. The Italian complied, but only to
turn the hold into a face slam that drove Dragonfly into the canvas once again. He then
reached out and tagged Simon, but before Simon could get in the ring Hot Crimson came
around and pulled the "Stunning One" off the apron. Bootlegger was stunned and shouted
at Crimson to get away from his partner, but while his back was turned he was caught
with a missile dropkick to the back of the head from Tao Te Ching. Both members of The
Order pulled Bootlegger back towards the middle of the ring and made the cover, but
Simon was able to escape Crimson and get back in the ring just in time to break up the pin
attempt. Simon tossed Tao to the outside and followed his opponent to the floor while
Bootlegger caught Dragonfly with a kick to the midsection that was followed immediately
by the Heart's Desire. Bootlegger made the cover for the pin and the victory, his team's
first of the tournament.
Televised Matches
IZZ AMAZING vs. THE DRAGONFLY
Dragonfly came out for the match in rough shape, obviously still
feeling the effects of the tag match he had endured only moments before the show took
the air. Izz took advantage of the fatigue factor right away and caught the slow-reacting
Dragonfly with a low blow followed by a DDT. He then pulled Dragonfly up and
whipped him off the ropes for a spear tackle, but Dragonfly leapfrogged up and over,
leaving Izz's tackle attempt to hit nothing but air. As Izz got back to his feet he was met
with an impressive dropkick to the face that put him right back down. The second time
Izz got up he was met with a huracanrana, but this move he was ready for, reversing it on
Dragonfly and driving his opponent down with a seated powerbomb. The Hawaiian was
then quick to climb to the top rope and, in a mockery of Dragonfly's own finishing move,
delivered a flying senton splash. He quickly rolled over and made the cover for the three
count to secure a minor upset over The Dragonfly. While Izz was celebrating in the ring,
"Amazing" Andrew Peters and Amanda made their way out. Peters slid into the ring and
attacked Izz from behind, locking him in his painful Antagonizer finishing hold. As Peters
wrestled Izz to the canvas Amanda walked over and sprayed mace right in the Hawaiian's
eyes, temporarily blinding the man before extra referees could come down from the back
to break it up.
WOLVERINE vs. DEATH
Daark accompanied Death to the ring for this match, but that didn't
stop Wolverine from getting the early upper hand. A series of right hands from the
Michigan native backed Death into the ropes where Wolverine sent his opponent off the
far side. Wolverine went for a clothesline but Death ducked under, then catching his
startled adversary with a flying knee to the chest. This didn't put Wolverine down but a
dropkick from Death would send the big man out to the floor. Death motioned to the
outside to follow but the referee cut him off, telling Death that he wanted the match to
remain in the ring. While the two were in conversation Daark grabbed Wolverine and
tried to send him into the post, but Wolverine reversed it and instead it was the world
champion who wound up going into the steel. Wolverine then rolled into the ring, and had
apparently gotten his second wind. He took Death down with a big clothesline and then
dropped two elbows across the sternum before picking him up for a chokeslam. As he
raised Death in the air, though, Death caught Wolverine with a boot to the midsection.
Wolverine lost his grip and Death dropped harmlessly to the canvas, landing on his feet.
Before Wolverine had a chance to react, Death grabbed him from behind and delivered the
Death Drop. Just as he had done earlier in the tag team match, Death quickly rolled his
opponent and scored the three count and the victory. The celebration would be short
lived, though, as in from the crowd came Hot Crimson and The Order. The Order double-
teamed Daark on the outside while Crimson, Death's opponent at Daark Ages, slid into
the ring and savagely attacked the next challenger to his midwestern title. For the second
time in two matches, backstage officials had to come down to the ring to regain order
about ringside.
"STUNNING" STEVE SIMON vs. HOT
CRIMSON
Crimson came down the aisle with The Order as well as Jim Krieger,
the former slave of Hassan Abu Saada that had recently broken free from his master to
join Crimson. The quartet didn't get very far down the aisle before Death, obviously
looking to avenge the assault that occured at the end of his match, came out from the back
and leveled Crimson with a bag of marbles to the back of the head. The Order turned,
saw Death, and chased the Cult member all the way back to the dressing room while
Crimson slowly pulled himself up in the runway. He continued down the aisle, but still
wasn't able to make it to the ring. This time he was cut off by Steve Simon, who came
running down the aisle and floored Crimson with a clothesline to the back of the head. He
then grabbed Crimson and dragged him to the ring, where almost immediately the trio of
Virus Richards, The Bootlegger, and Inferno joined them. The Cartel was mercilous, with
all four of them stomping away freely on Crimson. The referee tried to intervene and get
the intruders out of the ring, but he was promptly shoved to the outside by Richards as
Simon locked Crimson in the Hollywood Stretch. The official ruled the match a
disqualification win for Crimson, but The Cartel didn't seem to mind. They pouned
Crimson, who remained in Simon's punishing hold, until the midwestern champion was
unconscious before leaving the area.
TAO TE CHING vs. AMBUSH
Ambush opened the match at a quick pace, catching Tao with a couple
of simple armdrag takedowns before a executing a big hiptoss that sent Tao half way
across the ring. Tao charged back after his opponent but Ambush simply lowered his
shoulder and backdropped the Oriental star over the top to the floor. Ambush stayed after
the man, going to the outside and slamming Tao into the post before bringing him back in.
He set Tao up for the shotgun but The Dragonfly, who was at ringside with his partner,
jumped up on the apron. The distraction tactic worked as Ambush immediately let go of
the hold to confront the intruder, knocking Dragonfly off the apron and into the safety rail
with a hard right hand. The crowd cheered as Dragonfly's ribcage hit the steel, but those
cheers were quickly quieted when Tao stunned Ambush with a forearm to the back of the
head. Tao then pulled Ambush over to the corner and, after making a derogatory remark
towards Masked Menace X, hooked Ambush for the X-Plex. He would only get Ambush
half way over, though, before Ambush landed back on his feet and rolled Tao into a small
package for the 1..2...3.
MMP Television Championship Match
MASKED
MENACE X (C) vs. THE BOOTLEGGER
The two men locked up in the center of the ring as the bell sounded,
but while they jockeyed for position, members of The Cartel came running down to the
ring. Virus Richards, Steve Simon, and Inferno were all on hand, and delivered a beating
on MMX similar to the one that Hot Crimson received earlier in the evening. The ref
immediately called for the bell, awarding the decision to MMX by disqualification. Virus
Richards climbed to the top rope as Bootlegger pulled MMX up and delivered the Heart's
Desire. Almost at the instant that MMX hit Virus came off the top rope with a frog splash
that took the last ounce of breath out of MMX's body. While the TV champ lay
motionless, Bootlegger reached down and, while Simon and Inferno held MMX's arms
behind his back, pulled the mask off of the champion. MMX fell face first to the mat,
preventing anyone from getting a look at his face, but that didn't stop Bootlegger from
parading around the ring with his trophy. He then demanded a microphone.
Bootlegger: "This is a reminder, you masked peon of the POWER of the CARTEL. IF
YOU EVER even dream of attacking ANY one of its members again, we will NOT be AS
lenient. And if you ever EVEN address me or even say my name again, I will personally
destroy whatever's left of your pitiful career you filthy cretin!!! THIS I PROMISE
YOU!!!"
The Cartel then left the ring, with MMX lying face down in the ring holding his hands over
his face to conceal his identity.
THE REGULATOR vs. THE JOKER'S
CHILD
With The Regulator already in the ring, "Asshole" started to play over
the loudspeaker. Ponch and Aries came to the ring dragging Joker down the runway.
They stood him in the middle of the ring, but it looked like Joker was heavily under the
influence for his match. Regulator only needed to get one shot in on the man before it was
made clear to everyone that this was a mere impostor as the stilts he was using were sent
flying. Aries and Ponch got up on the ropes and challenged Regulator, drawing the
attention of both the former world champion and the referee in charge over to their side.
While the two men had their backs turned the real Joker came running in from the crowd,
carrying Loui Slugger in hand. He nailed Regulator across the back with the bat, but
tossed the bat aside before the ref could see it. Joker then grabbed Regulator and tossed
him through the ropes to the floor before he began parading around the ring as if he had
won the match. Suddenly, on the outside, the cameras noticed that something was pulling
Regulator under the ring by his right leg. After a couple of seconds the movement
stopped, but Regulator wasn't able to pull himself out or get back to his feet. In the ring
the referee was administering his ten count and, while Regulator was clearly able to get
back in the ring, something underneath was preventing him from doing it. The official
finally reached ten, and The Regulator was counted out, giving the win to Joker. After the
bell sounded Psychotic Sam came out from under the ring on the other side to celebrate
with The Family. A camera shot under the ring revealed that Sam had used a shackle and
a long chain to restrain Regulator, locking him to one of the support beams under the
canvas.
MMP Universal Championship Match
HASSAN ABU
SAADA (C) vs. VIRUS RICHARDS
Hassan came to the ring alone, without his usual accompaniment of
slaves, belly dancers, or members of The Organization. Before he got to the ring, though,
The Cartel attacked for the third time in the evening, perpetrating a four-on-one attack on
the universal champion. Bootlegger, Steve Simon, and Inferno stomped away on Hassan
and slammed him against the steel post and steps while Virus got in the ring with a remote
control in hand. After his associated rolled Hassan into the ring Virus took out an
elaborate camel mask and put it on over Hassan's head before dropping a big elbow across
the chest. While this was going on a large brown sack was lowering from the roof. When
the sack got to be only a few feet above the ring, Virus cut a small hole in the bottom and
a thin stream of sand started pouring out, landing right on Hassan's masked face. With the
other Cartel members using a thick brown rope to hog-tie the universal champion, Virus
demanded a mic.
Virus: Now then, if tonight wasn't a clear enough example to all of you overzealous
midcarders backstage, let me just re-iterate our message for you in simpler terms. THIS
IS CARTEL TERRITORY!!! Organization, Menace 2 Nobody, and of course Culties we
haven't forgotten about you...all your little attack last weekend did was make me try just a
little bit harder. I've said it before and I'll say it again..."NOBODY F*CKS ME OVER!"
Nobody. Tonight you've seen that I'm serious, but at the same time we are far from
finished. So to all you members of ballSAC, you'd better sleep with both eyes open,
because you never know who's going to the next name to come up on the list. Thank you,
and good night.
Virus tossed the mic down and The Cartel left the ring, the sand still falling on Hassan, as
the screen fades to black.
