MMP Season’s Slayings is on the air! The Corel Center in Ottawa, Ontario is sold out with more than 20, 000 fans in attendance for tonight’s huge pay per view event! Commentators Jerry Wood and Ray Brewer are at ringside.

Wood: Happy New Year, everyone, and welcome to MMP Season’s Slayings, the final wrestling PPV event of the millenium! I’m Jerry Wood alongside Ray Brewer where tonight we see the war between Captain Patrick O’Conner and The Cult finally come to a head when the MMP world championship is on the line later tonight as O’Conner puts the belt up for grabs against Daark. Daark was furious last weekend on Saturday Night Slams after being upset for the universal title by Hassan Abu Saada, and that doesn’t bode well for O’Conner going into tonight’s big title defense.

Brewer: Ya know, Wood, Daark would be a hell of a tough challenge for O’Conner even at one hundred percent. But as the world knows, O’Conner’s ship “The Banshee” was found shipwrecked about two weeks ago, and the Captain is heading into the match with a variety of injuries that could make the challenge in his path too much for him to handle. I know George Achica is still trying to talk the Captain out of the match tonight, encouraging him to just let the championship go and wait for another day. It doesn’t sound like O’Conner is listening to that advice.

Wood: Of course, O’Conner against Daark is only the tip of the iceberg on what could be the most star-studded PPV lineup in MMP history. Old rivalries will come to a head and championships will be decided here tonight in Ottawa. The number-one seeds in the tournament to crown new tag team champions will be decided when Virus Richards and Aries meet George Achica and Benjamin Childs in a best-of-three series. The Bootlegger and The Destroyer will meet in a no disqualification match. Psychotic Sam shoots for an unprecedented fifth extreme championship when he meets his long-time rival Christian Antimarius inside of a barbed wire cell. And, in the climax of a heated feud that has been brewing for almost a year now, The Ryno and The Joker’s Child will do battle in a straight jacket match. The TV title will be on the line tonight, but we kick things off with a semi-final match in the tournament to crown a new MMP midwestern champion. Hassan Abu Saada, the favorite going into the tournament and a man who has already captured the universal title over the past few days, will get Season’s Slayings underway against a man who entered the tournament as something of an underdog, a man making his PPV debut in Ambush. Let’s go to the ring here at the Corel Centre!

MMP Midwestern Championship Tournament – Semi Finals
HASSAN ABU SAADA vs. AMBUSH

With Ambush already waiting in the ring, Hassan Abu Saada made his way down accompanied by his usual entourage of slaves and belly dancers, but also by Tao Te Ching and The Dragonfly, known collectively as The Order. Hassan had a look of supreme confidence on his face as he passed the universal title belt to one of the slaves on the outside but Ambush, riding the momentum of his two wins earlier in the night before the PPV took the air, didn’t let Hassan’s antics throw him off his game. As soon as the two men locked up Ambush quickly put his technical expertise to use, wrestling his much bigger opponent down into a side headlock. Hassan fought to break the hold as Ambush applied a simple wristlock, which he used to back the big man into the ropes. With obvious pain flowing through Hassan’s arm Ambush whipped his opponent off the far side, and then impressed the sold out crowd by taking the large Egyptian off his feet with a big clothesline. It looked as if Hassan wasn’t expecting such a fight out of the rookie Ambush, and the universal champ struggled to find an opening. Opportunities were hard to find, though, as Ambush was all over Hassan, and was clearly driven to take advantage of the incredible opportunity that had been presented to him. He pulled Hassan up off the canvas and nailed the man with a piledriver before setting him up for the Shotgun. As soon as Ambush made his first move towards his finisher, though, Tao Te Ching jumped up on the apron. Ambush immediately dropped the hold and came after Tao. Tao led with a right hand that was blocked by Ambush, who responded with a right hand of his own that sent Tao off the apron and onto his tag team partner The Dragonfly on the floor. Before Ambush could turn around, though, Hassan was back on his feet. While Ambush was admonishing The Order, Hassan came up on Ambush from behind and nailed him with a forearm shot across the back that caused Ambush to fall into the ropes. The champ then whipped Ambush off the ropes and caught him coming back with a flying forearm that nearly took Ambush’s head off. The fans booed loudly as Hassan got back to his feet and went to work on his opponent for the first time. Hassan repeatedly stomped Ambush as he tried to manuever towards the ropes, driving the brunt of his 400-plus pound frame into Ambush’s upper body. The wear of the previous matches looked to be taking it’s toll on Ambush, who was very slow in pulling himself up. The universal champ was very slow in following up, and the look on his face told the crowd that Hassan had the match well in hand. Hassan grabbed Ambush as he got to his feet, delivered a kick to the midsection, and dragged him out to the middle of the ring where he slapped his large hand around Ambush’s throat. He lifted Ambush in a chokeslam, but before he could slam Ambush down to the canvas Ambush hooked his arm around Hassan’s head, rolling him over into a small package for the 1…2…Hassan kicked out just before three. Enraged, Hassan shot back to his feet and waited for Ambush to get up. When he did, Hassan charged in with a huge lariat, but again Ambush was ready with a counter. Hooking Hassan’s arm, Ambush pulled himself up and tried to crucifix Hassan over. The big man’s size, though, was too much for Ambush to pull over and Hassan simply crashed down with a Samoan drop, crushing Ambush beneath his massive frame. This time Hassan didn’t wait for Ambush to get up, pulling him up himself and locking on a cobra clutch. Ambush struggled to find a counter, but this time he couldn’t. Realizing that he wasn’t going to reach the ropes Ambush had no choice but to tap out, giving the win and the spot in the finals to Hassan.

Wood: So the finals have been set in the midwestern title tournament, and it will be two members of The Organization going one-on-one for the vacant championship. Hassan will have his work cut out for him against Hot Crimson, who is not only a former midwestern champion himself, but also a man who received a bye through the semi-finals. While Hassan was out here involved in a hard fought match with Ambush, Crimson has been backstage resting and putting together a gameplan to try and recapture the title he once held.

Brewer: The thing is, Wood, whoever wins the title will be a fraudulent champion. When I woke up this morning, I was the midwestern champion. I never lost the belt. The title was stripped from me. They said it was because I’m not an active wrestler. I say it’s because Grant Lindsay and the other guys in the front office are afraid that seeing a retired wrestler like myself beating guys on the roster today might be detrimental to the company image. If they want to take the belt that badly, fine. Let them. I’ll always have the satisfaction of knowing that I never lost it.

Wood: I don’t know if you actually believe what you’re saying or not, Ray, but I don’t think you’d last very long in that ring against a Hassan Abu Saada, a Hot Crimson, or even an Ambush. Face it, you’ve had your fun, now let it go and get back to what you’re here to do – calling matches. Our first championship match is up next with the TV title on the line. Masked Menace X has held the title for nearly six weeks now, but has been lucky in several of those title defenses. Tonight Hyoga will look to put an end to that run and capture his first taste of MMP gold to head into the new millenium as the MMP television champion.

MMP Television Championship Match
MASKED MENACE X (C) vs. HYOGA

As Hyoga stepped through the ropes for his TV title opportunity, “The Antipop” played over the loudspeaker. Mini Menace and Carnage stepped through the curtain, drawing Hyoga’s attention as MMX came running in through the crowd and attacked the challenger from behind. A couple of forearm shots to the back of the head from MMX backed Hyoga up against the ropes before a dropkick sent him over the top rope to the floor. MMX walked around the ring gloating to the fans while Hyoga pulled himself up and got back to the apron. Before he could get back into the ring, though, MMX nailed him with a shoulderblock to the midsection. Hyoga was slowed, allowing MMX to bring him back into the ring with a suplex from the apron. The champ stomped Hyoga in the chest twice before pulling him up and whipping him into the turnbuckle, where MMX came charging in and crushed Hyoga with an avalanche. The challenger was stunned and MMX quickly took advantage, nailing a kick to the midsection before hooking Hyoga in the X-Plex. The ref made the three count, and MMX had retained the title.

Wood: Another successful defense for Masked Menace X, this time making short work of Hyoga up here in Ottawa.

Brewer: When this match was first signed I really expected Hyoga to put up a better fight than he did. I don’t know what it is about him. Every time he gets within striking distance of a championship he seems to come up lame. Looks like it’s back to the drawing board for the man from Switzerland.

Wood: Of course, Hyoga had already been involved in one match here tonight that took place before we went on the air. He was upset in the first round of the midwestern title tournament by Izz Amazing, who picks up his first win since returning to the MMP a couple of months ago. Izz will be looking to build on that success in our next match, but this time his opposition will be a fair sight more challenging than Hyoga was earlier on. “Stunning” Steve Simon returns to pay per view, and he’s got Izz Amazing in his crosshairs.

”STUNNING” STEVE SIMON vs. IZZ AMAZING

Steve Simon received a loud chorus of boos from the Canadian crowd as he stepped through the curtain, accompanied to the ring by his tag team partner for the upcoming tag team championship tournament, The Bootlegger. The bell sounded to begin the match but Simon refused to lock up, telling both his opponent and the referee that Izz was too dirty and that he refused to touch him. Izz, not known for his self control, flew off the handle and charged at Simon, but that was exactly what Simon was hoping for. He caught Izz coming in with a drop toehold that slammed Izz face first into the canvas. With Izz lying face first on the canvas Simon straddled the man and applied a seated full nelson, grinding Izz’s face into the canvas. He slapped Izz across the back of the head as he pulled his opponent up off the canvas and threw a punch aimed right at the side of Izz’s jaw. Izz blocked the punch, though, and countered with a punch of his own. A second and a third punch staggered Simon enough for Izz to slam him down and drop the leg across the sternum. He made a quick cover, but Simon kicked out and one and sat up with a disgusted look on his face. Amazing kicked Simon hard right in the chest to put him back down and then dropped an elbow before making another cover, but again Simon kicked out almost immediately. Enraged, Simon shot back to his feet, but Izz ducked a Simon clothesline attempt and hooked his opponent in a full nelson, just as Simon had done earlier in the match. He tried to wrestle Simon to the canvas, but Simon’s knowledge of submission wrestling allowed him to slip out the back door, turning the move into a back suplex. Izz’s head rocked off the canvas and Simon shook off the effects of the full nelson, acting as though he was disgusted with himself for letting Izz get him in such a hold. He pulled Izz up off the canvas and, after motioning towards Bootlegger on the far side, whipped Izz off the ropes. The whip was reversed, though, and it was Simon who was sent across the ring. This caused Bootlegger to make a near fatal mistake. He reached into the ring to trip Izz, but because his back was turned he never saw Izz reverse the whip. Bootlegger hooked Simon’s leg instead, dropping the “Stunning One” face first to the canvas. Izz Amazing took full advantage, and quickly climbed to the top rope. In the meantime, Masked Menace X started making his way down towards the ring. Before he could even reach ringside, Bootlegger turned to see MMX coming, and advanced on the TV champ. The two men became embroiled in a heated argument on the floor, drawing a flood of referees out from the dressing room to intervene between the two. Back in the ring, Izz dove off the top towards the fallen Simon with a diving headbutt, but Simon moved out of the way and all Izz found was a face full of canvas. Simon pulled himself together and waited for Izz to do the same, only to nail the Hawaiian with a chop block to the back of the legs. Izz went down hard, and Simon quickly applied an STF. Amazing reached out to the ropes, but just when he was about to reach out and grab the middle strand, Simon hooked the arm for additional leverage. From there Izz had no choice but to give it up, and Simon was declared the winner. Simon didn’t wait to have his hand raised, though. As soon as the bell sounded he slid out to the floor and headed up the runway. MMX took off back to the dressing room as Simon grabbed Bootlegger by the shoulder and violently spun him around, demanding an explanation for Bootlegger’s tripping him during the match. Bootlegger claimed it was an accident, but Simon didn’t seem to believe him. The two men argued all the way back to the dressing room.

Wood: Steve Simon wins his return to pay per view match tonight over Izz Amazing, but it looks like there could be trouble in paradise for the team of Simon and Barlotta after what, as much as I hate to say it, did in fact look like an honest mistake on the part of The Bootlegger.

Brewer: Nah, Wood, you’re reading too much into this. I know both men quite well, and I know cooler heads will prevail. Steve always comes around. He saw what his old man was doing to his career, and he’ll realize that Gene’s interference was purely accidental. Trust me, things will all work out in the end.

Wood: I, on the other hand, can’t be as optimistic as you, Ray. There have been many who have questioned the solidarity of the team since it was formed a couple of weeks ago. Rumor has it that there are a lot of unresolved feelings of hostility that still exist between both men relating to the demise of The Syndicate several months ago. Whether tonight’s rift will impact Barlotta and Simon’s participation in the upcoming tag team championship tournament, though, remains to be seen. Ladies and gentlemen, The Cult Master is on his way to the ring for our next contest, but we still have not received word as to who this mystery opponent will be. We hope to find out shortly as we send you back to the ring.

THE CULT MASTER vs. MYSTERY OPPONENT

”Carmina Burana” played over the loudspeaker as The Cult Master’s long procession made it’s way into the arena. The lengthy introduction ceremony, led by Daark, saw a large swarm of Cult minions leading the way out for their ruler and took several minutes to complete. When The Cult Master finally stepped through the ropes his music was cut off by the anthem of The Organization, Pink Floyd’s “Welcome to the Machine”. A man wearing a gold robe and an Oriental mask approached the ring through the crowd and slid in under the bottom rope, heading directly for The Cult Master. The two locked up but Cult Master got the early advantage, nailing his opponent with a pair of European uppercuts before wrestling him down into a side headlock. Master ground his forearm into the side of the mystery opponent’s head as he backed him against the ropes. He then whipped the masked man off the far side and went for a clothesline on the rebound, but the masked man ducked underneath. He came to a sudden stop and when Master turned around, the masked man nailed him with a dropkick that sent Master to the canvas. Then, with his adversary down, the masked man rolled out under the bottom rope to the floor and reached under the ring. On the other side of the ring, Daark stood with his back to action, preaching to several fans in the front row, who were apparently more interested in the words of the former universal champion than they were in the match. Cult Master quickly came over to try and bring the man back into the ring, but before he made it near the ropes, the masked man whipped a dart gun out from under the ring and shot Cult Master in the arm! The referee immediately called for the bell and awarded the match by disqualification to The Cult Master. Cult Master pulled the dart out of his arm, but soon collapsed to one knee, and then to the canvas. The masked man pulled off his disguise to reveal Hot Crimson as the attacker! Crimson slid back into the ring, and The Order came rushing out from the dressing room to join Crimson in the assault by holding off the minions who tried to come to Cult Master’s aid. Daark finally turned around from his preaching and rushed in to assist, sending the members of The Organization to the floor. They walked calmly to the dressing room knowing that their task was successful while the minions helped Cult Master to his feet.

Wood: The Organization is sending a message to the rest of the MMP here tonight! Not only will Hassan Abu Saada and Hot Crimson meet later on tonight for the midwestern championship, Crimson and The Order have just laid a tremendous beating on The Cult Master, letting the entire dressing room know that they are indeed a force to be reckoned with.

Brewer: I applaud Hassan Abu Saada for what he has been able to do with this new group. He has found men who are willing to follow his lead, and together they have already made quite a statement since their formation. In the short weeks since this group came into being, they have captured the universal title, headlined many Saturday Night Slams cards, dominated the midwestern championship tournament, and perpetrated an assault on the leader of The Cult. These are four men making the most of their opportunity. That’s what you have to do in this business. If you don’t take advantage, you run the risk of becoming just another notch on someone else’s ladder of success.

Wood: Another area that The Organization is looking to control is the tag team division of the MMP, which currently sits without champions. A two-stage tournament has already been announced for the new year, but tonight we will decide who will be the number-one seed in the second stage of that competition. Whoever wins the best-of-three series between the teams of Virus Richards & Aries and Achica & Childs will earn that right. The losers will be left out in the cold, and will have to wait until the tournament is over before getting a crack at the tag team titles. The first match in the series is another in a long series of meetings that has taken place over the past year. Ever since Aries and Childs, of course formerly known as Dr. No Limit, failed in their efforts to win the last tag title tournament, these two men have been at each other’s throats. Both have won some, and both have lost some. Tonight they look to settle the score once and for all. Let’s send you back to the ring for more action for match number one of this best-of-three series.

Best-of-Three Series – Match #1
ARIES vs. BENJAMIN CHILDS

Childs came to the ring, as always, with Zane and Charles by his side. His tag team partner, George Achica, was also on hand. BJ looked really pumped up for this match, his first since losing his doctorate to Daark in the ladder match and dropping his Dr. No Limit alias. Aries, though, also looked ready for the match, concentrating squarely on Childs as he came down the aisle with his lead pipe in hand. One thing hadn’t changed about Child and that was the customary table that always stood at ringside. Zane and Charles set it up on the outside as Aries climbed into the ring. The “Beast from Greece” didn’t waste any time hooking up with Childs, as the two big men traded punches back and forth in the middle of the ring right as the opening bell sounded. Aries got the upper hand in the first exchange, though, backing Childs into the corner and continuing his barrage of punches until Childs was flat on his back. He then tore into Childs with repeated stomps to the head and chest before the official stepped and forced Aries to let up and allow Childs to get out of the corner. Aries relented, but only for a moment. As soon as Childs was back to his feet Aries caught him with a solid boot to the midsection and slammed him down to the canvas. With Childs lying on his stomach Aries pinned him down with both hands and began driving his knee into the small of Childs’ back. After dropping the knee for the third time Aries slowly let up, taunting Childs and asking him if that was the best he had. Childs started to get up, but as soon as he was facing Aries, Aries delivered a savage kick right to the face of Childs, breaking his opponent’s nose and smearing his face with blood. After letting out a boisterous laugh Aries grabbed Childs by the hair and started to pull him up, but the blood on his face only served to motivate Childs to mount a comeback. He thrust two hard elbows into the midsection of Aries to break free from the Beast’s grip, then nailed him with three quick right hands to the side of the head. After backing Aries up into the ropes Childs whipped him off the far side and caught him with a big powerslam. The crowd started cheering as Childs was getting his second wind. He waited for Aries to get back to his feet, only to floor the big man with a running boot to the face. He then pulled Aries up and whipped him into the corner where he delivered a series of stiff chops to the chest before climbing the buckle. With Aries trapped between Childs and the corner, Childs started driving right hands into his opponent’s temple, the crowd counting along the whole way. After reaching ten Childs jumped back down the mat and whipped his dazed opponent across the ring to the far buckle. He then charged across and went for an avalanche, but Aries stepped out of the way and Childs missed him completely, striking his head on the steel ring post in the process. Aries caught Childs’ rebound and carried him out to the center of the ring where he nailed a big sidewalk slam that nearly drove Childs through the mat. He then rolled Childs over and applied a camel clutch, putting more pressure on the back of his opponent. After a few moments with the hold applied Aries shouted at the ref to ask Childs if he wanted to quit, but Childs vehemently refused to give it up. Hearing that his opponent wasn’t going to stop, Aries got frustrated and released the hold. He stomped Childs twice on the back before pulling him up and setting him on the top rope for a super chokeslam. Aries shouted some comments out towards George before lifting Childs off the buckle, but before he could get very far, Childs brushed him off with a hard kick to the chest. Aries lost his grip on Childs’ throat and stumbled back a few steps. He moved back in, but was caught by Childs coming off the top rope with a flying lariat! Aries’ neck snapped back and the back of his head struck the canvas as he went down, giving Childs an opening he desperately needed. Childs didn’t even wait for Aries to get back up before scooping him up and nailing the Limit Driver! He quickly covered Aries and hooked the leg for the three count to win the first match in the series for his team.

Wood: A big win for Benjamin Childs here over Aries, putting his team with George Achica up 1-0 in the series against Virus Richards and Aries. All the pressure will now squarely be on Virus’ shoulders going into his match with Achica coming up in just a few moments. You have to give it to Childs, Ray. This was his first match coming off of the heartbreaking defeat against Daark and Inferno a couple weeks ago, but he looks to have rebounded nicely, defeating one of the most formidable competitors in the history of the MMP.

Brewer: Ya know I hate to agree with you Wood, because most of what you say is essentially mindless blather, but in this case you have a point. A lot of people say Aries has lost a step. Maybe he has. It’s hard to stay as dominant as he used to be forever. But the fact remains that Aries has the ability to knock off any one at any time. He has beaten both Daark and The Destroyer, just to name a couple, over the past couple of months. There aren’t too many guys who can stake that claim. This is a major feather in the cap for Benjamin Childs, and now his team is only one win away from earning that number-one seed position in the tag title tournament.

Wood: As I said, they will have a chance to do just that just moments from now when Virus Richards and George Achica go one on one. Before we get to that, though, we bring you a match that my broadcast colleague Ray Brewer has been looking forward to all night. Fresh out of the penitentiary it’s Mr. Beumont in action, taking on the new MMP universal champion Hassan Abu Saada.

HASSAN ABU SAADA vs. MR. BEUMONT

Beumont, wearing an orange prison jumpsuit, came to the ring escorted by two policemen, who hurried him down the aisle and ordered him to hurry up and have his match, saying that he only had so much time before he had to be back in his cell. Hassan came down very non-chalantly, obviously not taking the match too seriously. He quickly got in the ring and walked right over to Beumont, nailing him with a forearm shot across the face. Beumont went down hard, but Hassan was very impatient and pulled him right back up, applying a cobra clutch. It was only a matter of seconds before Beumont gave it up. Hassan tossed Beumont aside and quickly marched back to the dressing room, leaving the officers to re-cuff Beumont and take him away.

Wood: About what you would have expected, Ray?

Brewer: This is really getting old, Wood. How much longer do the folks in charge plan on letting this transient come out here and degrade our PPVs with his presence? Maybe if he and the rest of those societal rejects known as The Family are convicted we’ll never have to put up with them again.

Wood: Of course my colleague is referring to the pending charges of armed robbery facing The Family back in Pennsylvania after an altercation that took place a couple of weeks ago. The Family members competing tonight have been granted work releases to fulfill their obligations here at Season’s Slayings, but I understand they will be flown directly back to Philadelphia after the show to be re-incarcerated where they will await trial on the charges facing them. Our best-of-three tag team series continues up next with George Achica looking to win the series for his team as he takes on Virus Richards. Remember, if George wins, he and BJ Childs will lock up the number-one seed in the upcoming tag team tournament. If Richards wins, there will be a tag match between the two teams coming up later on in the program. Let’s go back to the ring!

Best-of-Three Series – Match #2
VIRUS RICHARDS vs. GEORGE ACHICA

With Childs, Zane, and Charles by his side, George Achica looked really pumped up for his big match with Richards. For months he had been listening to Richards’ petty insults, and tonight was his big chance to let out all the frustration that had been building up inside him. Virus came to the ring with Aries, but it was clear right from the start that the two men weren’t getting along. Richards was berating Aries for losing to Childs earlier in the evening and putting the pressure to win on his shoulders. He stepped through the ropes to face his opponent Achica, but didn’t advance very far. He shouted ”Boy, fetch me my slippers!” at George before turning back to yell at Aries again. George didn’t respond too kindly to Virus’ taunt and charged in at him, crushing Virus beneath his massive girth in the corner. He then began to focus on the ribs of Virus, delivering several sweeping kicks to the ribcage that sucked the wind out of Richards. With his opponent doubled over, George flew into an uncontrollable rage and just began laying into Virus with repeated rights and lefts to the head, driving Virus down into the canvas. The official eventually had to step in and back George up, ordering him to let Virus out of the corner. George started to calm down and listened to the ref’s warnings, but all that did was open the door for Virus to get in a vicious low blow. Achica bent over clutching his groin while Virus, pulling on the ropes for leverage, got back to his feet and nailed George with a chop block to the shins. George went down hard, and Virus was all over him. He dragged George over to the ropes and draped his leg across the bottom strand where he delivered a short vertical splash on the leg not once, but twice. The official shouted at Virus to break because George was on the ropes, but Virus wasn’t as accommodating as George had been earlier. Virus and the ref became engaged in a heated argument over the validity of the rules, but when George started to stir Virus turned his attention back to the task at hand. He grabbed George’s injured leg and pulled him out towards the middle of the ring where he delivered repeated kneedrops to the hamstring before dropping an elbow across the knee of the injured leg. Virus then tried to slow the pace of the match down, applying a figure four leglock to put additional pressure on the leg of Achica. The official got down and asked George if he wanted to give it up, but George would have none of it. He violently waved the ref away and, using his weight to generate extra momentum, rolled Virus over and reversed the hold, putting the pressure squarely on Virus. Virus lunged out and easily grabbed the ropes, and immediately began shouting at the ref to force George to break. The official pulled the two men’s legs apart, but it wasn’t fast enough for Virus, who again complained to the referee for taking so long to intervene after he had reached the ropes. The official was quickly losing patience with Virus, but before his tones turned too hostile, George rushed over and hit Virus from behind, sending Virus through the ropes and out to the floor. George quickly followed, grabbing Virus by the hair and whipping him into the ring post, then slamming him face first into the steps. Virus’ only escape was to roll back into the ring, and Achica followed closely behind. Richards jumped back to his feet and tried to beg off, but George simply ignored him and whipped Virus off the ropes, catching him on the rebound with a powerslam. With the match well in hand, George climbed up to the top rope. He readied himself to deliver a big splash from the top, but at the last minute Aries reached up and shoved him off, sending George crashing hard to the canvas below. Childs ran over and attacked Aries, and a wild brawl ensued on the floor. While Aries and Childs traded blows on the outside, on the inside Virus had gotten back to his feet. He quickly climbed to the top rope and came off with a frog splash right across George’s injured leg. He made the cover and hooked George’s one leg for the 1…2…3. With the match over, Virus reached into the back of his tights and pulled out a slipper, which he used to slap George right across the face. He started to pull George to his feet but Childs slid into the ring, sending Virus retreating out to the floor and hurrying back to the dressing room.

Wood: Virus Richards has evened the series, but not without a lot of help from Aries on the outside. It really looked to me like George had the match won after that sequence on the floor, and I really think he would have pulled it off if not for Aries’ intervention.

Brewer: Hey, you gotta have eyes in the back of your head in this business. Don’t kid yourself, Wood, if the roles had been reversed I don’t doubt that Childs would have been just as eager to help swing the match in his team’s favor.

Wood: Well, I don’t know if that’s necessarily true, but nevertheless Virus’ win has set up a tag team match for later on tonight where the winners will take the series and the number-one seed that comes with it. Up next we have another of our four championship matches, this time for the MMP extreme championship. The barbed wire cell is being put in place as we speak, awaiting the arrival of Christian Antimarius and Psychotic Sam. These two men have battled over the extreme title before, and it was Antimarius that Sam beat to win his very first extreme championship. Tonight he looks to capture an unprecedented fifth championship, against a man that has been The Family’s sworn enemy ever since he returned to the MMP a couple of months ago. They look to settle the score once and for all here in Ottawa, with the extreme title on the line.

MMP Extreme Championship
Barbed Wire Cell Match
CHRISTIAN ANTIMARIUS (C) vs. PSYCHOTIC SAM

The champion was already waiting inside the cell as Sam was wheeled to the ring on a cart, escorted by several Pennsylvania state law enforcement officers. Sam was, as always, carrying Marbels the Cat and was also wearing his crown that had been forged from the old MMP world championship belt. As soon as Sam was released to enter the cage Antimarius charged at him with a clothesline, but Sam ducked out of the way and nailed Antimarius in the head with the wooden base of Marbels, knocking him nearly unconscious. He then grabbed Antimarius and tossed him through the ropes to the floor, where he dragged the champion over to the cell and raked his face along the barbed wire. Leaving Antimarius in a bloody heap on the floor, Sam rolled back into the ring and rocked back and forth while talking to his cat. Antimarius started back to his feet, drawing Sam back out to the floor where he again floored the champion by nailing him over the head with the steel ring steps. After rolling Antimarius back into the ring, Sam picked him up and delivered the Psychotic Smash. He then made the cover for the three count to capture the extreme title.

Wood: Psychotic Sam is your new extreme champion for the fifth time! Nothing like this has ever been accomplished here in the MMP, but it was clear right from the get-go that Sam was determined to win that championship, even if he may not have been sure exactly why.

Brewer: I don’t understand this, Wood. They strip me of the midwestern championship because I’m not an active wrestler, but they let a diseased mental patient with criminal charges pending against him hold the extreme title? This doesn’t make any sense Wood, and it’s not right.

Wood: Well, despite your objections, Ray, Psychotic Sam is the new champion, and will lead the MMP into the new millenium as the king of the hardcore realm in this company. One man who has always claimed to be hardcore is The Ryno, who will make his return to the MMP in our next match against longtime rival The Joker’s Child in a match that we have been waiting to see for many, many months. Both men will be wearing straight jackets as they do battle for the first time. This match has been almost a year in the making, so without any further adieu, let’s go back to the ring for the straight jacket match!

Straight Jacket Match
THE JOKER’S CHILD vs. THE RYNO

Ryno was already wearing his straight jacket as he was wheeled down to the ring by a team of three orderlies lead by Dr. Patton. Patton went over and joined the broadcast team while the orderlies released Ryno and helped him into the ring. The Joker’s Child was led out with both his wrists and ankles bound by chains, followed closely by four state policemen. Ponch, one of only two Family members cleared of the armed robbery charged, was also with Joker, trying to get the officers to back off and let him take care of Joker. The cops almost reluctantly let Joker out of his restraints so that he could get into the ring, but as the ref came over with Joker’s straight jacket Ponch tripped the official and tossed Joker a chain. Joker came running up from behind on Ryno and nailed him in the back of the head with a loaded punch. He then grabbed Ryno and tossed him to the outside before the police officers rushed into the ring and held Joker down to get him in the sraight jacket. Out on the floor Ponch grabbed Ryno and slammed him into the announce table, but was quickly chased away when the orderlies came around to back Ponch away and help Ryno back into the ring. Joker, now in his straight jacket, waited for Ryno to get back to his feet. When he did Joker swept his legs around and tripped Ryno’s out from under him before dropping a big leg across the sternum. With Ryno down Joker quickly slid out to the floor where Ponch pulled a switchblade out of his pocket. He started to cut the straps on Joker’s straight jacket, but neither the police officers nor the orderlies would have anything to do with it. The cops quickly grabbed the knife away from Ponch and cuffed him, taking him back to the dressing room. The orderlies grabbed Joker and rolled him back into the ring, where he was immediately met with a boot to the face from Ryno. Ryno then waited for Joker to get back to his feet and ran off the ropes, flooring Joker with a flying shoulderblock. He stomped Joker twice in the sternum before going over to the corner and slowly climbing up to the second rope. As Joker started to get up Ryno came off the second rope and nailed Joker with a Rocker Dropper. Joker’s face was driven into the canvas beneath Ryno’s 300-pound frame and Ryno, pushing with his shoulder, rolled Joker over and made the cover, but he only got a two count before Joker kicked out. After the pin was broken Ryno waited for Joker to get back to his feet, but that proved to be a mistake. As soon as Joker was up to one knee he shot his other leg out and kicked Ryno below the belt, sending Ryno crumbling to the canvas in agony. Joker shot over and made the cover for the 1…2…Ryno kicked out! Joker was livid. He shot back to his feet and got right in the referee’s face, arguing that the count was slow in a profanity laced tirade. While his back was turned to his opponent, though, Ryno got back to his feet as well and nailed Joker with a swinging kick to the back of the head. Joker went down hard near the ropes and Ryno, leaning over the top rope for balance, started choking Joker out with his boot. He pressed down with the full brunt of his weight across Joker’s windpipe, and without his arms to defend himself, Joker was helpless. His face started turning blue before the official stepped in and stopped the match, awarding it to The Ryno on referee’s discretion.

Wood: A big upset here tonight in Ottawa for The Ryno, defeating one of the top stars in the MMP in his first match since being committed to a mental institution two months ago Here’s hoping this is just the first step on a successful comeback trail for The Ryno.

Brewer: What do ya want me to say, Wood? That I’m happy for Ryno? Frankly, I don’t care enough to be happy for him. If he’s locked up in a home, he has no business being out here wrestling week in and week out. And I don’t care if Patton thinks it will make for good treatment, it’s not right to be sending wrestlers out there as subjects in some quack’s experimental treatment – even if it is a filthy criminal like The Joker’s Child.

Wood: OK, well, moving right along, we’ve got the final match of the best-of-three up next. Both Benjamin Childs and Virus Richard were victorious in their singles matches earlier tonight, making this match a necessity to decide the number-one seeds in the upcoming tag title tournament. Whoever wins this match will be in a prime position to capture the vacant tag team championship in the tournament a couple of months from now, while the losers will be sent to the bottom of the pile and will have to work their way up from the bottom to earn another shot at the gold. Let’s go back to the ring.

Best-of-Three Series – Match #3
VIRUS RICHARDS & ARIES vs. BENJAMIN CHILDS & GEORGE ACHICA

Virus and Aries came out with their opponents already waiting in the ring, and the tension between the two was still quite apparent. Virus was still berating Aries for losing to Childs earlier in the evening and making this match necessary, although for the most part Aries was ignoring what his partner had to say. As per Virus’ instructions Aries started the match, this time finding himself going toe-to-toe with the mighty Samoan George Achica, whom he had cost a victory earlier in the card. The two exchanged blows back and forth, making it clear right from the start that this confrontation wasn’t going to feature very much technical wrestling, just a good old fashioned brawl between two big men. After absorbing a couple of right hands from Aries George countered with a forearm smash to the jaw that rocked Aries backwards. A headbutt sent Aries back into George’s corner, where he made the exchange with his partner, Aries’ hated rival, Benjamin Childs. Childs suplexed Aries over and made a quick tag to his partner, who came back into the ring, bounced off the ropes, and delivered a crushing splash that nearly drove Aries through the canvas. George started to pull Aries up but Virus, frustrated on the outside, ran into the ring and nailed George with a kneelift from behind that sent the Samoan through the ropes to the floor. Childs ran into the ring but Virus quickly escaped the outside where he attacked Achica, who lay face down on the concrete floor. In the ring Aries and Childs hooked up once again, with Aries delivering a solid punch to Childs’ already-broken nose, busting up the mask Childs was wearing and drawing blood once again. After slamming George into the ring post Virus rolled the big man back in, sending him to the feet of the waiting Aries. While the ref ushered Childs back to the apron Aries hoisted George up and nailed a big sidewalk slam that sent shockwaves throughout the entire building. With the large man down Aries, as he had done earlier to Childs, went to work on George’s back, driving his right knee repeatedly into Achica’s lower spine. Again Virus started into the ring, but again Childs came rushing in to cut him off. The first man the referee saw, though, was Childs, and the official’s attention was completely taken by the man from New Orleans while Virus pulled George up and held his arms behind his back. Shouting instructions at Aries, Virus held George in position as Aries bounced off the ropes and nailed a big boot to the face…of Virus! George fell to the canvas just as Aries’ foot connected with his partner’s jaw and, while the two men were distracted, made his way over to the corner. The mistake was all Virus could take. He flew into a rage and started screaming at Aries, who left the ring in disgust. Virus turned and started taunting his opponents, but he didn’t realize that Aries hadn’t yet left the ringside area. He got back in the ring behind Virus and nailed him in the head with his lead pipe! The crowd started cheering as Virus collapsed to the canvas. Aries walked out with his pipe in hand, apparently no longer caring about the outcome of the match. Childs and Achica never saw what happened, but when they noticed Virus lying face down, they were quick to take advantage. George officially tagged Childs into the ring, who pulled Virus up and nailed the Child’s Play, first driving him into the canvas with a running powerbomb and then turning him over into a sharpshooter! The referee got down to see if Virus wanted to give it up, but before Virus could even respond, Childs looked over at his partner standing in the corner. He released the hold and made the tag to George. George quickly climbed to the top rope and, with no one to interfere this time, nailed his big flying splash. He hooked Virus’ leg as the ref counted the 1…2…3. The crowd erupted in cheers as Childs and George were announced the winners, but George wasn’t done there. Remembering all the taunts that had come from Virus over the past few months, and especially the slipper incident earlier in the night, George reached into his trunks and pulled out a newspaper. He walked over to the fallen Richards and slapped him across the face with the paper, dropping it at Virus’ side as the victors made their exit.

Wood: Ladies and gentlemen, the tag team championship tournament has a number-one seed! Benjamin Childs and George Achica have secured their spot as the team to beat en route to the vacant championship in a tournament that will begin in about two weeks time. Ray, it looks like tag teams are dropping like flies here tonight. First we saw some major tension between The Bootlegger and Steve Simon, now it looks like the team of Virus Richards and Aries has come to an abrupt end here at Season’s Slayings.

Brewer: Ya know, Wood, sometimes that happens when you get two incredibly talented guys like that together. Neither man can accept defeat. Virus saw Aries’ loss to Childs earlier tonight as a failure, but Aries apparently realized that there’s a good chance Virus would have been defeated by George if he hadn’t intervened. Both men set a high standard for the other to live up to, and it turned against them as we saw what could be considered something of an upset with Childs and Achica winning the series tonight.

Wood: Couldn’t have said it better myself, Ray. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. We have seen it time and time again here in the MMP, and Virus and Aries are just another example of what happens when massive egos collide, despite the joint pursuit of a mutual interest. Our next match won’t be a match, but an all out war. The rivalry between The Bootlegger and The Destroyer reaches all the way back to the summer when The Syndicate and The Cult were among the groups battling for supremacy in the MMP. These two men have met before, and both men hold victories over the other. It will be no disqualification, a realm in with Destroyer is dominant, but against a treacherous man like Gene Barlotta, you never know what he’ll have up his sleeve. We send you back to the squared circle. Hold onto your hats, folks, this should be a wild one!

No Disqualification Match
THE BOOTLEGGER vs. THE DESTROYER

Knowing of Bootlegger’s propensity to benefit from outside interference, The Destroyer had a large entourage surrounding him as he made his way down the aisle. Daark, Inferno, Harbinger, and several Cult minions were all on hand to support the big man in his effort to silence The Bootlegger once and for all. The ASSociates led the way out for Bootlegger, who was dressed in full riot gear as was the norm for him in any and all hardcore matches. As soon as he stepped through the ropes Bootlegger walked right over Destroyer and offered a handshake, but that gesture was immediately refused as a flame shot out from under Destroyer’s robe, shooting up under Bootlegger’s face shield and right into the Italian’s eyes. A minion jumped up on the apron and passed Destroyer a golf club, and the former extreme champ went right to work. His first action was to remove Bootlegger’s helmet, which he tossed many, many rows deep into the crowd. He then slammed the club down all over Bootlegger’s body, including one particularly vicious shot to the back of the head. Another minion then offered assistance, passing Destroyer a rope in the form of a noose. Wrapping the noose around his opponent’s neck Destroyer pulled the rope tightly, dragging Bootlegger around the ring by his throat. Bootlegger tried to stop it, but his weakened pull was no match for Destroyer’s incredible strength. After he let the rope fall to the canvas Destroyer reached out to yet another minion, this time getting a board wrapped in barbed wire in return. He set the board down on the canvas and pulled Bootlegger over for a powerbomb, but as he pulled Bootlegger up Boot grabbed the nightstick that was hanging around his waist and drove the end of it right into his opponent’s midsection. A second shot caught Destroyer across the back, and Bootlegger grabbed the big man and whipped him off the ropes, catching him on the rebound with a high knee that dropped the big man to the mat. Bootlegger then mounted Destroyer and, using his nightstick, proceeded to choke Destroyer mercilessly until the official intervened and forced Bootlegger to break. Barlotta let up, but after a second stopped and remembered that it was a no disqualification match. He shouted at the referee to get out of the way before using his feet to shove Destroyer out under the bottom rope to the floor. After slamming Destroyer head first into the steps, Bootlegger walked over the timekeeper’s table and grabbed a steel chair. He waited for Destroyer to get up before winding up and…just as he want to crack Destroyer with the chair, one of the Cult minions had circled the ring and grabbed it away. Bootlegger looked shocked when he realized that the chair was gone, but that expression changed to one of disgust when he turned and saw the diminutive man who had stolen the chair. A right hand sent the minion to the floor in a daze, but the distraction gave Destroyer the opening he needed. Having produced a fork from his boot while Barlotta’s back was turned, Destroyer reached up and raked Bootlegger across the forehead when the Italian turned around. He then quickly tossed Bootlegger back into the ring and pulled him up, delivering a powerbomb. Destroyer looked ready to finish the match off when out from the dressing room came Aries, carrying a lead pipe. Daark saw him as he made his way down and quickly cut the “Beast from Greece” off in the runway, stunning him with a flying forearm and causing him to drop the pipe. While those two men battled in the runway, Inferno grabbed the chair that Bootlegger had tried to use earlier and got into the ring, convincing Destroyer to let him finish Barlotta off. Bootlegger was slow to his feet, but as soon as he got back up Inferno swung the chair…missing the ducking Bootlegger and catching Destroyer right between the eyes. Inferno dropped the chair in shock, but before he could react, The ASSociates were in the ring. One threw a handful of powder into Inferno’s eyes while the other, with brass knucks in hand, nailed Inferno with a low blow that dropped the big man to the canvas. Before Destroyer could shake the effect of the chair, Bootlegger grabbed him and nailed a bulldog on the chair. He quickly rolled Destroyer over and made the cover for the three count before any of the minions could get in to break the pin.

Wood: The Bootlegger steals another one, this time over The Destroyer. You’d have to think this man’s luck will run out one of these days, but it doesn’t look like that day is going to come any time soon. They say a cat has nine lives. I’d like to know how many lives a Barlotta has.

Brewer: Hey, give the guy a break. All anyone cares about are wins and losses, not close calls or good performances. The ability to win the close match is what makes the difference between a guy with a lot of potential and a guy who enjoys a lot of success. Gene Barlotta has been incredibly successful, while many people feel like Destroyer has yet to reach his full potential.

Wood: We could sit here and debate that all night, I’m sure. Bootlegger has accomplished a lot, there’s no doubt about that, but Destroyer is a multiple time champion in his own right. Anyhow, speaking of champions, we’ve still got two championship matches to go here tonight in Ottawa. Our next match is the finals of the midwestern championship tournament. It started out with 16 men earlier tonight, but now it’s down to two. In a few moments it’ll be down to one, and a new champion will have been crowned. Hassan Abu Saada, the reigning universal champion, looks to add to his collection of championships, but to do so he’ll have to go over a member of his own Organization, the unpredictable Hot Crimson.

MMP Midwestern Championship
Tournament Finals
HASSAN ABU SAADA vs. HOT CRIMSON

Hassan came to the ring first, accompanied by his usual entourage of slaves and belly dancers. The Order was also on hand to back up their leader. As soon as Hassan was in the ring, though, Crimson came running in from the crowd and attacked his leader from behind. He nailed Hassan with a pair of forearm blows to the back of the head and spun him around for a face buster. Tao and Dragonfly jumped up on the apron and shouted at Crimson to back off. Crimson stopped and glared blankly at the two men, but they had served their purpose. Hassan got back up and nailed Crimson with a shot to the back, whipping him hard into the corner where he delivered a series of chops to the chest. A thunderous headbutt from Hassan dropped Crimson to the canvas, laying against the bottom turnbuckle. Hassan then pressed his boot against Crimson’s throat, pressing down with the full force of his 400-plus pounds across his follower’s windpipe. The referee stepped in and pulled Hassan off, much to the disgust of the “Egyptian Monarch”. Hassan shoved the referee back, demanding that the official refer to him as “Your Highness” and keep his hands off of him. After the argument Hassan continued his attack on Crimson, grabbing his follower by the head and whipping him across the ring to the far buckle. Hassan followed up with an avalanche, but Crimson wasn’t as badly injured as he let on. He slid out of the way, sending Hassan hard to the corner before laying into the Egyptian with rapid punches to the face. Crimson then started choking Hassan with his bare hands, ignoring The Order’s urgings for him to let go. Using a drop toehold Crimson drove Hassan face first into the canvas, where he applied an ankle lock submission hold. Luckily for Hassan his seven-foot-plus frame enabled him to reach out and grab the ropes somewhat easily, although Crimson didn’t break the hold. Hassan leaned over and spit right in Crimson’s face while, on the outside, Daark was making his way down to the ring. The Order slid into the ring and started screaming at Crimson to release the ankle lock, but the ref was quick to intervene, threatening to disqualify Hassan if they didn’t leave. Knowing of what might happen if they caused Hassan to lose the match, the two men were quick to comply. While the ref’s back was turned, though, Daark grabbed the midwestern championship belt and nailed Hassan in the back of the head with the title strap. Upon seeing Daark The Order hurried to chase the former universal champion to the back, but they weren’t able to catch up to the Cult member as he made his way back to the dressing room. Meanwhile, back in the ring, Crimson pulled Hassan back to his feet, only to deliver his double-arm DDT. He rolled Hassan over and covered him for the three count to capture the midwestern title for the second time.

Wood: For the second time tonight we have seen a new champion crowned here in Ottawa, this time it’s a new midwestern champion in the person of Hot Crimson.

Brewer: I’m sure Crimson’s impressed with his accomplishment, but I’ve seen some of the things that Hassan does to his associates when he’s displeased with them. Winning the midwestern title may very well have been the worst thing to ever happen to Hot Crimson. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes when he next has to go face-to-face with Hassan and explain his actions.

Wood: Are you implying that Hot Crimson should have laid down and allowed Hassan to defeat him in the finals of the tournament? Hassan had to realize that a meeting with Hot Crimson could have come about during the course of the competition, and should have had a plan for such circumstances.

Brewer: No, what I’m saying, Wood, is that in Hassan Abu Saada’s mind everyone, especially his followers, is beneath him. Imagine how he’ll react to not only having one of his followers assault him, but also defeat him. Hot Crimson is going to have some explaining to do, I can see it coming.

Wood: Folks, it has come down to this. The final MMP match of the millenium is for the world heavyweight championship. Arguably the greatest champion in MMP history, Captain Patrick O’Conner, puts his title on the line against a man who could very well prove to be his toughest challenger to date in Daark. We’ve heard from backstage that George Achica has been trying to convince the Captain to forego the match and wait for a chance for his injuries to heal, but as we all know that ‘s not in Patrick O’Conner’s character. He’s a fighter and, injured or not, he’s coming out here tonight to put that belt on the line. Daark has had one chance at the title before but came up short. Can he capitalize on O’Conner’s condition to make good on his second chance? In a just a few moments we’ll find out as, for the last time this century, we send you back to the ring for more action.

MMP World Championship Match
CAPTAIN PATRICK O’CONNER (C) vs. DAARK

The challenger made his way out first, accompanied by the giant Inferno for what was undoubtedly the biggest match of his career. Despite the last minute urgings of Achica to stay back and rehabilitate his injury O’Conner made his way out for the last title defense of the millenium, wearing a brand new championship belt that had been made to replace the one that had been stolen and subsequently destroyed by Psychotic Sam. O’Conner was very slow in walking down the aisle, but Daark didn’t show him any mercy. As soon as O’Conner stepped through the ropes Daark was all over him, delivering chop after chop to the chest to back O’Conner into the corner. The challenger was relentless in hammering the injured champion, even after O’Conner had crumbled to the mat. Daark used his boot to try and choke the life out of the Captain, but despite his injuries O’Conner fought back with all he had. He tried to wedge his hands in under Daark’s boot to break the choke hold, but he wasn’t able to do it. It wasn’t until the referee stepped in that Daark broke the hold, not wanting to risk a disqualification and blow The Cult’s best chance at securing the world championship that they had been chasing for more than a year. Daark pulled O’Conner back to his feet and snapped him down with a Russian leg sweep and then began to work on the Captain’s leg, hammering it repeatedly with kneedrops that connected squarely on the champion’s knee joint. O’Conner looked to be in rough shape, but Daark never let up. Pulling O’Conner up off the canvas Daark whipped the champion off the ropes and caught him on the rebound with a spinning powerslam. Rather than going for a cover, Daark made a critical mistake. He attempted a standing moonsault but O’Conner, acting out of desperation, managed to get his knees up, catching Daark squarely in the ribcage as he landed. The force of Daark dropping on O’Conner’s knees took it’s toll on the Captain, but for the first time in the match, Daark was feeling pain as well. The Captain got back to his feet and waited for Daark to do the same. When he did O’Conner charged in and nailed Daark with the biggest spear tackle that Ottawa had ever seen, nearly sending Daark all the way out the other side of the ring. The champion pulled Daark back towards him and mounted the challenger, peppering him with right crosses to the jaw. The offiical began to administer a count on O’Conner, forcing the champion to let up. Figuring that if he was going to come out and try to fight he might as well fiinish the match, O’Conner obeyed the referee’s warning and pulled Daark back up, only to take him back down with a simple judo throw. Maintaining contact, O’Conner pulled Daark up once again, this time for a shoulderbreaker. He drove Daark’s shoulder down hard, but O’Conner had made a crucial mistake of his own. Evidently the pain from his injuries was clouding O’Conner’s judgment, as in a very uncharacteristic move, O’Conner made a mental error. He delivered the shoulderbreaker, driving Daark’s shoulder into his own injured knee. O’Conner tried to follow up, but his knee had given out. He collapsed to one knee, resting all of his weight on the one good leg. The ref asked O’Conner if he wanted to stop the match but the champion, in his true fighting spirit, insisted that the match go on. O’Conner tried to pull himself up, but in his weakened condition, he wasn’t able to keep up with Daark. Despite the punishment he had absorbed, Daark was still in better shape than O’Conner, and just as the Captain was trying to get back to his feet, Daark ran in and delivered an ax kick to the back of the head. O’Conner went down like a ton of bricks, and Daark took over once again. He began stomping on O’Conner’s injured leg, then wrenching the knee before applying the Purgatory sharpshooter!! The referee quickly got down to check on the Captain, but O’Conner still wouldn’t quit. The pain from his injury coupled with the punishment he had absorbed from Daark, though, eventually became too great. O’Conner blacked out, and the referee called for the bell. Daark had captured the MMP world championship!!! The official went to present the belt to Daark, but Inferno stepped in and snatched the championship away. The ref went on his way back to the dressing room as Inferno handed the belt to Daark and raised his hand in the middle of the ring. The camera then shifted to the backstage area, where a loud commotion was coming from The Cult’s dressing room. People were trying to get out, but the door had been locked. Back in the arena Daark turned to flaunt his accomplishment to another section of the crowd with Inferno holding his hand high. Then, out of nowhere, Inferno turned and nailed Daark with a forearm smash to the jaw! Daark went down hard, and out from the dressing room came The Bootlegger, wielding one of his famous taser guns. Inferno repeatedly stomped Daark until Bootlegger made it to the ring. When Barlotta arrived Inferno pulled Daark back to his feet and held the new champion’s arms behind his back, allowing Bootlegger to jam the taser into Daark’s midsection. While Bootlegger held the taser in place, more wrestlers started coming out from the back. First it was Aries, then “Stunning” Steve Simon, and then Virus Richards. The three men joined Bootlegger and Inferno in pounding on Daark while The Cult, who it was later learned had been locked in their dressing room by the traitorous Inferno, was helpless to intervene. Showing that their supposed separation earlier in the evening was all a ruse, Virus and Aries shook hands as the stood over Daark. Aries pulled Daark up and delivered the Godly Drop as Virus came off the top rope, nailing the new world champion with a picture-perfect frog splash. Once Daark had stopped moving, the five men stood together in the middle of the ring, and Bootlegger grabbed a mic:

BOOTLEGGER: I truly hate to copy a phrase, but I believe that this once, it's necessary. This is for DaarK, you filthy little freak and for the rest of the MMP pleibeians backstage.... THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN, BABY!!! This time, it's gonna be PERSONAL!!

VIRUS: Trust me when I tell you, Pegleg, the fact that this Chud just crippled you is the best thing you could have hoped for. For too long now all you understrappers in the dressing room have had an easy ride. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, hope you enjoyed it while it lasted because it’s all over now. There are no softies or chokers like John Korso here this time. It doesn’t matter who you are, you will all fall in line. From this day forward, this company will be under the control of THE CARTEL!!

Virus tapped Inferno on the shoulder and the big man took Daark’s championship belt and draped it over the fallen champion. The Cartel walked out leaving Daark face down in the ring as the screen fades to black.
