PSYCHOTIC SAM
Bio
Psychotic Sam (Sam Turks) was born on June 13, 1977 in Seattle, WA. Sam and his brother
Mark, who was seven years older than him, were left on the streets alone after their parents died
in a car accident near Los Angeles when Sam was five. Sam and Mark became orphans and
soon met a guy on the streets of LA named Pete Parn (Havoc). Havoc was 15 at the time and
also lived on the streets with his sister who was seven. When Sam was ten, they moved to
Philadelphia and were called The Family by a gang of bikers that Pete hung around with. In
Philadelphia, Sam's brother Mark and Pete got involved with an underground wrestling group
known as the HWA (Hobo Wrestling Association). Sam joined at the age of 15. Mark and
Sam went on to hold the tag titles many times before signing a contract with a wrestling
organization in Japan known as Extreme Japan Wrestling. Sam, known as Psychotic Sam,
played a role as a simpleton and Mark played the role of an alcoholic. The two became very
popular and held the extreme and tag titles on many occasions. In the summer of 1995, Sam and
his girlfriend Laura Parn, (Pete's sister and also their valet) announced their engagement. Then in
the September, two days before a PPV, Laura gave Sam a cat that the world would know as
Marbels. Then that month at the PPV the world was shocked as Pete (Havoc) and Sam lost
Mark and Laura in a hardcore wrestling match where the two fell into a pit full of squirels shot
up with rabies. The two died in the hospital and so did the cat. Sam went into shock for three
months and Pete placed Sam in a mental home on the outskirts of Philadelphia. In 1996, Sam
got his cat returned to him by Pete, but the cat was dead and stuffed. Being ill, Sam thought it
was real and kept him. Sam stayed in the home until May of 1998 when Pete managed to get
Sam and him contracts with the MMP. Sam later came in and moved in to Philadelphia where
he became friends with locals known as Mr.Beumont, Hobo Richard, and Welfare William. Sam
went on to beleive his old gimmick from Japan and to this day hates squirrels.
MMP Career History
Psychotic Sam began wrestling with the MMP in early June. Nobody knew that his debut
match, an SNS battle against The Ryno, would ignite one of the hottest feuds of 1998. After
losing the first match by disqualification, Sam captured the midwestern title in a Ladder Match
against "Massacre" Mark Allyn at Championship Fever, but lost the title only a couple of weeks
later when he came in underprepared for a defense against Lord Deimos. With the title off his
mind, Sam focused on Ryno, and won the return match, contested inside a flaming barbed-wire
cell, at the BattleGround PPV. Sam quickly gained a reputation for being one of the most
hardcore wrestlers in the MMP. When a brief tenure teaming with Mike the Giant Retard
proved unsuccessful, Sam started accepting a variety of hardcore matches, defeating opponents
like Tyrone Hughes, Soul Crusher, Dr. No Limit, and Problem Child in any style of match he
could get signed. After a match with Problem Child at MMP Moonlight, Marbels the Cat was
abducted by Dr. No Limit, starting one of the most heated wars of late '98. Sam made it to the
finals of the tournament to crown the MMP/GWF Grand Champion before losing to Masochrist,
but he remained focused on his goal of getting his cat back. Winning the extreme title for the first
time along the way, Sam eventually accomplished that goal at Season's Slayings when he pinned
Dr. No Limit in a PPV title defense. Sam was stripped of the title after leaving the MMP for a
brief period in early 1999, but returned at WrestleStorm '99 to capture the universal title from
Captain Patrick O'Conner. He captured the extreme title once again in a title vs. title match
against Gemini Killer, but was forced to vacate one of the belts in accordance with MMP rules.
He chose to hand the extreme title over to Mr. Beumont, and wound up losing the universal belt
to John Korso at Main Event Madness. Sam then began teaming on a regular basis with The
Saint, beating teams like Parental Advisory and Aries & Odin en route to earning a tag title shot
at Homicidal Tendencies. During that match, The Saint surprised the world by turning on Sam,
savagely attacking him after the match. Marbels was the target of Sam's opponent once again
on May 15 in a tag match pitting Sam and Marbels against The Regulator and Dante. Dante
turned out to be Scott Worth in a giant cat costume, and Sam was pinned after interference from
The Saint. Worth and Regulator stole Marbels' head, while Saint stole the body. Interference
from Saint enabled Sam to win his third extreme title at The Parade of Champions when he
pinned Destroyer in one of the most vicious extreme title matches the MMP has ever seen. Saint's motives were soon realized as, in the persona of Havoc, he threatened to burn Marbels if Sam did not forfeit the extreme title to him on June 12. Sam turned the belt over, but didn't seem to mind as he finally had his cat's body back. His attention soon focused on regaining Marbels' head, which had been torn off by The Regulator a couple of months earlier. With the head now in the possession of The Bootlegger, Sam went after the reigning universal champion, dealing Bootlegger only his second career singles loss by DQ on July 3, but it did not lead to Sam getting Marbels' head back. Looking to force Bootlegger's hand, Sam abducted Bootlegger's valet Betty from ringside during a match and held her hostage until the head was returned. Sam dealt Steve Simon his first career loss before reaching a compromise with Bootlegger for the return of both the head of Marbels as well as Betty. At the BattleGround 2 PPV, the two men double teamed The Ryno in a three way Water Tank Match. Both men exited the tank at the same time, allowing Bootlegger to retain his universal title before making the Betty for Marbels exchange. Sam then went back to his hardcore roots, signing a return match with Aries from Chaos on the Coast with the extreme title on the line. After beating Blitzkrieg in a warm-up match, Sam defeated Aries for the extreme title. He only held the title for a couple of weeks before dropping it to The Destroyer on an SNS card. He demanded world title shots on several occasions, although a bout with then-champion Captain Patrick O'Conner was never signed. Sam then embarked on a fantasy campaign to be elected King of Spain, a campaign that would last through much of the fall of 1999. In the time leading up to the "election", Sam defeated Masochrist at Best of the Best and won his second midwestern title from Hot Crimson. He only held the title for a matter of minutes, as MMP broadcaster Ray Brewer was able to convince Sam to give him the belt in exchange for Brewer's agreeing to support Sam's campaign to be king. Sam was victorious in his race to be crowned king (in an election held out of The Family's warehouse in Philadelphia), but lost his first match after the election to Daark. Undaunted, Sam went on to Season's Slayings in Ottawa and defeated Christian Antimarius to win an unprecedented fifth extreme championship. The reign didn't last a month as Sam lost the belt to Virus Richards at Daark Ages, prompting him to take an extended leave from the MMP. When he returned he had Havoc by his side, and the two original Family members kicked The Joker's Child out of the group. Sam went on to defeat Joker in a barbed wire match for the rights to the name "The Family", at which time Mr. Beumont sided with Sam while the rest of the CWO stayed with Joker. A few weeks later the lineup was announced for WrestleFest 2000 - Sam had finally been granted a world title opportunity. Quick to claim responsibility for getting Sam the shot, Virus Richards alligned himself with Sam and exploited Sam's belief that he was the King of Spain to get Sam to do his bidding. When WrestleFest came around Sam was equal to the task and captured the world championship on May 30. He defeated Virus in his first title defense the next night, but had his world title reign ended by The Cult Master on June 1, only two days after he won the title. After an inactive summer, Sam returned at Final Judgment to win his sixth extreme championship and retire the title.

They Said It...
"Sam's persona was often imitated, never equaled. Part pathetic outsider, part raging madman
and all warrior. This wrestler has been there, done that and more. He's been involved in some
of the great long standing feuds/angles the federation has ever seen. His epic battles with Lord
Deimos, the Ryno and Dr. No Limit cannot be forgotten by anyone who was there." -- Captain
Patrick O'Conner
