MMP Main Event Madness

A new World Champion will be crowned on February 24 at the Superdome in New Orleans, LA!

MMP Main Event Madness is on the air!! The Superdome in New Orleans, LA is sold out for tonight's mega-event! The fans on hand are treated to a Mardi Gras-like celebration before the event as the cameras go to commentators Jerry Wood and Ray Brewer at ringside.

Wood: Welcome, everyone, to the Superdome in New Orleans for MMP Main Event Madness!! I'm Jerry Wood alongside Ray Brewer where tonight we will crown a new MMP World Champion in a ten-man tag team match featuring arguably the top ten superstars in the MMP today. One man will score the fall to win the biggest prize in this business here tonight!

Brewer: What should make this match all the more interesting are the pairings in this match. The Congregation will be on the same team as Mr. Marvellous and Aries. The Ryno and Gemini Killer will, after weeks of heated words between the two of them, will be forced to work together towards a common goal. This match could come down to which team can tolerate each other the longest.

Wood: Three other titles will be on the line tonight as well. Psychotic Sam, who will compete in the ten-man tag match in the main event, will put the Universal Championship up against "Corrupt" John Korso, a man who has been on quite a roll as of late in the MMP, including the win on Hardcore Saturday Night in the first-ever Wal-Mart Match. Super Cupid defends the Midwestern title against the hometown hero Dr. No Limit, who has looked impressive in some recent tag tem outings, including a win last Saturday night with new partner Aries against Beholder and Goliath from The Revolution. Finally we will see the first ever defense of the Extreme title by Christian Antamarius, who "won" the belt from fellow Family member Mr. Beumont on Hardcore Saturday Night a few days ago in Albany. We have many other huge matches tonight at Main Event Madness, including a very unique 2-out-of-3-Falls match between longtime rivals Clay Moore and The Ghettoman and two first round matches in the Tag Team Championship tournament. We get the evening underway with our second newcomers battle royal of 1999. Cherokee won the first such match back at WrestleStorm '99 in Denver, and it has lead him to a solid winning streak early in his MMP career. Whether tonight's winner will have the same success remains to be seen. Let's go to the ring!

NEWCOMERS BATTLE ROYAL

The ten participants slowly made their way down to the ring with each man realizing the opportunity that stood in front of them. As the bell sounded, Welfare William and Hobo Richard took out a pair of handcuffs and chained Mr. Beumont to the bottom rope to keep from having him thrown over the top. The other wrestlers wasted no time in going at one another. Lucas Coleman and Odin, two men who met recently on SNS, battled in one corner while Clay Moore tossed Nightmare, who lost his only match in his MMP career to Harbinger, over the top to the floor. Brad Lee and Outlaw went at it while Sammy DiFronzo wrestled Javier Castros up and over the top and out of the match.

Clay Moore then attacked Phobia, who had interrupted the Lee/Outlaw confrontation. With Mr. Beumont still hiding in the corner taking a drink from his brown paper bag, Moore nailed Phobia with a solid clothesline that put him over the top rope and out of the match. Odin raked Coleman's face, leaving the "Bad Boy" for a second and hitting Brad Lee with a running kneelift that sent him out. Moore and Odin then locked up while DiFronzo came running in and nailed Outlaw with a dropkick that sent him to the floor. The field of ten was down to five. Moore and Odin battled back and forth while, on the other side of the ring, DiFronzo and Coleman traded punches back and forth. With DiFronzo staggered, Coleman went for a spear, but DiFronzo stepped out of the way and Coleman crashed into the turnbuckle. While favouring his shoulder, DiFronzo nailed a back elbow smash to the jaw that put Coleman out.

Moore and Odin continued the action while DiFronzo simply stood in the opposite corner and watched his two opponents go at it. Odin nailed Moore with a headbutt before backing off and catching him with an avalanche in the corner. As he stopped for a moment to ponder his next move, DiFronzo came up from behind on Odin, grabbed him by the tights, and tossed him over the top! Odin got right back up on the apron and in the face of "The Vise". The two men argued back and forth while, behind Sammy's back, Moore grabbed Sammy and threw him over the top rope. It was now down to two men - Clay Moore and Mr. Beumont. Clay looked at Beumont and laughed as he slowly advanced on his last opponent. Suddenly, Hobo Richard got in the ring behind Moore with a steel chair. He came up behind Moore, but before he could get a shot in, Clay turned around, grabbed the chair, and blasted Richard for his trouble!! He then went into Richard's pocket and grabbed the key to Beumont's handcuffs, which he used to unlock his last opponent. As Beumont clutched his bottle of Jack Daniels for dear life, Moore easily threw him over the top to win the match.

Wood: What a win for Clay Moore! The former GWF Commissioner has found a great deal of success in his early days in the MMP, and this could be a huge boost for him going into his big match with Ghettoman later on tonight.

Brewer: I can't believe that Mr. Beumont came so close to actually winning a match. Some of those guys in the ring need their heads examined if a plan devised by Welfare William and Hobo Richard nearly won a match over several legitimate wrestlers. As a former pro wrestler myself, I say thank you to Clay Moore for saving this business from the ultimate possible humiliation that would have come from Beumont winning that battle royal.

Wood: Our next contest pits two wrestlers looking for their big break in the MMP. Terminator, one half of The Michigan Outlaws, has had a certain amount of success here, but has yet to break through to the next level. Phobia, on the other hand, is making his first appearance on an MMP card. After the early exit from the battle royal, Phobia will be hoping to make a better accounting of himself in his first one-on-one encounter. Let's go to the ring!

TERMINATOR vs. PHOBIA

As Phobia was making his way to the ring with The Ancient, Terminator came running down the aisle and caught the rookie in the back with a clothesline. With his opponent stunned, Terminator immediately grabbed his opponent and nailed his finisher, the Judgment Day Slam, on the concrete floor even before the opening bell. Dragging his opponent to the ring, Terminator rolled Phobia in under the bottom rope where he nailed a vertical suplex before mounting the second turnbuckle and coming off with a flying punch to the forehead. Sensing that he had the action well in hand, Terminator set Phobia up and nailed the Cyborg Drop!! Rather than going for the cover, Terminator slapped on a Dragon Sleeper!! It wasn't long before Phobia tapped out, giving Terminator the win by submission.

Wood: What a win for Terminator! In the first one-on-one match here at Main Event Madness, Terminator comes away with a big win, dominating the rookie known as Phobia to earn the submission win.

Brewer: I guess that early elimination of Phobia in the battle royal wasn't a fluke. Terminator really took it to the rookie. Give credit where it's due. Terminator saw his opportunity and took full advantage of it, earning a big win here in New Orleans.

Wood: From that dominating performance, we go to a match featuring two struggling wrestlers in the MMP. Tyrone Hughes has yet to earn his first victory since returning to the MMP last month, while Lucas Coleman is still looking for his hand to be raised for the first time in his MMP career. This match could be a turning point for both men, so let's go to the action!

As the introductions began, The Bootlegger made his way through the crowd with The Bootleggerettes and took three seats in the front row. The Bootlegger was wearing a black Armani suit with a red tie, and the Bootleggerettes wearing identical transparent $3, 000 dresses.

TYRONE HUGHES vs. LUCAS "BAD BOY" COLEMAN

As Coleman was making his way down the aisle, Hughes came running out from the back and immediately nailed him with a steel chair! The referee came into the aisle quickly and tried to restrain Hughes, but Hughes simply brushed him away, nailing Coleman with a crucifix bomb onto the steel chair before taking "Bad Boy" down to the ring area. Hughes slammed Coleman head first into the announcers table and bodyslammed him onto it before rolling him back into the ring. The referee stood between Hughes and Coleman as he called for the opening bell, forcing Hughes to give Coleman some time to recover.

Hughes quickly pushed past the official as Coleman pulled himself up in the corner. Lucas displayed his brash personality by daring Hughes to come in, even letting Tyrone get a shot in. Coleman challenged Hughes to hit him again. Hughes took a swing, but Coleman ducked and grabbed Hughes from behind, nailing an atomic drop that sent Hughes sternum first into the turnbuckle. Coleman, slow to respond after Hughes' earlier attack, did his best to stay on his opponent, charging into the corner with three running clotheslines that rammed Hughes against the buckle. As Hughes stumbled out, Coleman nailed him with a DDT.

Coleman went for the cover, but didn't hook the leg, allowing Hughes to escape before the three count. In spite of the early assault by Hughes before the match, Coleman seemed to be coming on strong. Waiting for Hughes to get up, Coleman put him back down with a running spear and then gave the sign for the No Escape Deathlock! Grabbing Hughes' legs, Coleman went to apply his finisher, but Hughes kicked away. Coleman came back in, but Hughes shot his left leg up and caught Coleman with a vicious kick to the groin. Coleman was slowed as Hughes got to his feet and nailed a sidewalk slam. Gasping for breath, Hughes went for the kill, nailing Coleman with the Harlem Bomb!! Hooking both legs, Hughes made the cover and got the three count.

Wood: A huge victory for Tyrone Hughes. That win over Coleman could be the turning point in Hughes' career here in the MMP. What will this mean for the "Bad Boy"?

Brewer: Well it looks like Coleman has a lot of work to do if he's going to get into the hunt here in the MMP. But we all know that one big win at the right time can be all it takes to turn around a career just like one loss at the wrong time can be the undoing of a man's career. Just ask Pitbull, who I personally sent packing back to the welfare office. If this match can turn Tyrone's career around, Coleman can do the same with one big victory down the road. He will have that chance when he and Blaze Adams compete in the tag team tournament later on tonight.

Wood: As you saw, The Bootlegger has arrived here in New Orleans with Betty and Veronica and is sitting in the front row for tonight's event. Steve Lewin is with the villanous MMP superstar, hoping to catch a few words from the former GWF World Champion.

Lewin: I'm here at ringside with former GWF champion AND returning MMP superstar, the Bootlegger.

The crowd boos quite loudly.

Lewin: So Bootlegger, everyone out here and back in the lockerroom area has been wondering, what happened? You were GWF champion and a rapidly rising star here in the MMP, and then poof, you disappear. What happened?

Bootlegger: Well Steve, you know how it is wih me, the law has been constantly hounding me and attempting to accuse me of things, horrible things. And you know me, I'm an honest and very wealthy business man, but here in the U.S., being successful always seems to put a target on your back. Well, not to worry, I've straightened all of my problems and now I'm back to do some wrassln'.

Lewin: I don't know Bootlegger, you seem to always run around ques-

Bootlegger (cutting him off): I thought that's what you would ask, well I'm here tonight to see some of the awesome wrestling acion here in the MMP tonight. Especially that great two out of three falls match later on tonight. That should be fun, don't you think?

Bootlegger waves the interviewer off and sits back down.

Wood: Some interesting words from Gene Barlotta, better known as The Bootlegger. It seems that he is here with some particular interest in the Ghettoman/Clay Moore match here tonight. Recall that both Ghetto and Moore were stars in the GWF, where Bootlegger was once the World Champion, before coming to the MMP. Perhaps there is some unfinished business there that we are not yet aware of. Well, it's now time for the first of two matches tonight in the Tag Team Championship tournament. Harbinger and The Destroyer, who went through the round robin with only one defeat, takes on XuMed and his mystery partner, one of two replacement teams in the tournament after both No Fear and Unforgiven had their MMP contracts terminated at the conclusion of the round robin. Let's go to the ring!

MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament - 1st Round Match
HARBINGER & THE DESTROYER vs. XUMED & ???

With Harbinger and Destroyer in the ring, XuMed and a masked man of similar build came down the aisle with Beholder and Goliath. XuMed and the masked man were dressed up as Blitzkrieg and Whiplash, No Remorse!! The two teams faced off in the middle of the ring, but when Destroyer took a step towards XuMed, the British star ran, jumping to the outside and standing by Beholder and Goliath. After exchanging a glance at one another, Harbinger and Destroyer pummeled the masked man while The Revolution looked on laughing. Both Harbinger and Destroyer got to display their offensive arsenals before Destroyer, who later tonight will challenge for the Extreme Championship, slapped on the Will Breaker!! The masked man wasted no time in submitting, and Harbinger and Destroyer advanced to the second round. The Revolution laughed all the way back to the locker room.

Wood: What the...XuMed just left his partner out there on his own to get utterly dismantled by Harbinger and Destroyer. It's looking like that return match between the UCW duo and No Remorse could very well come to pass in the upcoming weeks.

Brewer: Well XuMed and The Revolution sure passed up on a big opportunity here tonight. Not to say that they could have beaten Harbinger and Destroyer, they at least could have taken a shot. In a tournament like this, all it takes is a short winning streak and the most unlikely of teams could become Tag Team Champions. Either way, Harbinger and Destroyer have moved on to the second round.

Wood: It's now time for our first of four title matches here this evening. Super Cupid, who retained the title at Hardcore Saturday Night in Albany, defends the Midwestern gold against hometown hero Dr. No Limit. DNL and Aries knocked off Beholder and Goliath in the tag team tournament last weekend, and the local wrestling product looks to carry on that streak here in his own backyard, and possibly gaining his first championship gold in the MMP. Let's go back to the ring!

MMP Midwestern Championship Match
SUPER CUPID (C) vs. DR. NO LIMIT

DNL got a rousing ovation from the hometown fans and looked somewhat unkempt after the Mardi Gras celebrations that went down last week. He wasted no time in taking the fight to Super Cupid, going after him with punches and kicks before tossing him off the ropes and catching him with a big boot to the face. Being careful to protect his legs against the smaller man's attack, DNL gave the champion a powerbomb before going to the top rope and connecting with a frog splash. Then, going for the win, DNL slapped on the Limit. He looked almost surprised as Cupid tapped out and the referee rang the bell! The crowd jumped to it's feet as the hometown star was awarded the Midwestern Championship in the middle of the ring.

Wood: What an upset! Dr. No Limit has captured his first singles champiosnhip, defeating Super Cupid here at Main Event Madness to capture the Midwestern title!

Brewer: That could be the biggest upset in MMP history! Looks like the hometown advantage really played out for DNL, who caps off the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans with a huge title win on a PPV. It's been a long time coming.

Wood: That's true, it has been a long road for DNL, but the fight is just beginning. The Midwestern division has been the most competitive division in the MMP for almost a year now. It's going to take everything No Limit has to hold onto that title that he has worked so long to win. Our next match, I can only assume, has been booked to give the fans in New Orleans and those of you at home a little bit of comic relief. In a contest not sanctioned by the MMP, Mr. Beumont is going to put his Hobo Wrestling Association title on the line against fellow Family member Welfare William. Of course, the title is no more than an old dress belt with a piece of cardboard on the front, but I guess these two are going to have a match. Let's go to it!

Non-Sanctioned
Hobo Wrestling Association Championship Match
MR. BEUMONT (C) vs. WELFARE WILLIAM

Banjo Buzz made his way to the ring playing the Wolfpack's entrance music on his one-string banjo as Hobo Richard came down. Hobo Richard is then given the microphone to speak as Banjo Buzz made his way to the back.

Hobo Richard: Making his way to the ring, the next HWA World Champion Big POPA Plump, Welfair William.

William comes out wearing jeans with his belly hanging over his crotch. When William gets to the ring, he tries to jump up on to the ring but gets two inches of the ground and falls into the side of the ring. William then decides to use the stairs. He gets in to the ring and grabs the microphone from Richard.

Welfare William: To all you geeks out there I want you to know that Big Popa Plump is your hook up.

William then flexes the little muscle on his arms as the crowd errupts in laughter. Just then you can hear Banjo Buzz playing "A Real Man's Man" on the one string banjo as Mr.Beumont makes his way out dressed like a lumberjack with a construction helmet on his head. Beumont is trying to make it to the ring with the HWA world title around his waist, his "manager" Jack Daniels in his hand and an axe in the other. Beumont gets half way to the ring when he drops the axe and decides to leave it there because it is to heavy. Beumont slowly climbs in to the ring and comes face to face with Big Popa Plump. Just then Beumont sneezes in Big Popa's face, blinding Big Popa. Beumont takes the advantage and stumbles towards him, giving him a weak punch to the stomach. Will stumbels backwards as Beumont delivers another one, and William stumbles a bit more. Finally Beumont goes for a clothesline but instead of hitting William with the arm he runs right into him. The two men fall down and the ref starts to count 1,2,3,4,5,6, finally Beumont starts to get up. He rolls over and goes for the pin. 1...2...William kicks out. Beumont then gets up and delivers a pink belly to William, making William cry as he taps out. Beumont kept delivering the pink belly until the ref pulled him off.

Wood: Well, that was...

Brewer: That was just plain stupid! Whoever is in charge of booking these matches needs to be fired and then tied to the railroad tracks to be run over by many trains. It's bad enough that Beumont somehow got an MMP contract, but to let him and Welfare William fight over an old belt with a piece of cardboard glued to the front is just plain ridiculous. At least we're in a drinking town. Maybe those two idiots will get alcohol poisoning and we'll never have to put up with them again.

Wood: Ray, I think you are forgetting something. Beumont is still scheduled to face The Ryno later on tonight. It's not quite over just yet. Time now for an old fashioned grudge match between Wolverine and Perry Sanders. Things have been pretty heated between these two since Wolverine offered to help Sanders in his battle with John Korso when Korso first threatened Sanders' 11-year-old son. This would be a huge win for both competitors. Let's go to ringside!

WOLVERINE vs. PERRY SANDERS

Wolverine opened the match attacking Sanders right at the opening bell, taking him down with a series of armdrags before hiptossing him over the top rope. Only moments into the match, the action had spilled out to the floor. As Sanders got to his feet, Wolverine slingshot himself over the top rope, nailing Sanders with a flying bodypress that crashed him down to the concrete. With the referee trying to order the two men back into the ring, Wolverine grabbed a television cable and started choking his opponent with it. The referee came out to the floor to break the two men apart, and got into a heated shouting match with the Michigan Outlaw. Wolverine pushed the official aside and grabbed Sanders and bodyslammed him on the broadcast table. He then went to throw Sanders into the ringpost, but Perry countered, using a drop toehold to take Wolverine down face first into the steel ring steps.

Sanders took a moment to regroup before throwing Wolverine back into the ring where he went to work on his opponent with a variety of leglocks and leg twist to wear the bigger man down. Going for a submission victory, Sanders applied a leg grapevine in the middle of the ring. The referee asked Wolverine if he wanted to give it up, but the Detroit native managed to reach the ropes. Sanders, however, had done the damage. Wolverine used the ropes to pull himself up, but Sanders caught him right away with a dropkick to the injured leg. Dragging Wolverine out to the middle of the ring, Sanders delivered a big kneedrop onto the joint, furthering the damage to the knee. Looking to put his opponent away, Sanders went to the top rope.

Wolverine tried to get back to his feet, but couldn't get up without help from the ropes. Sensing that his opponent was finished, Sanders came off the buckle with a flying legdrop, but Wolverine rolled out of the way just in time, sending Sanders crashing into the canvas hard on his tailbone. Using the ropes for balance, Wolverine got back to his feet, and as Sanders got back to a vertical base, Wolverine nailed him with a superkick using his one good leg. He then followed up with two big elbowdrops and went for a cover, but Sanders kicked out at two. Wolverine tossed Sanders off the ropes and went for a big boot, but Sanders ducked and caught Wolverine with a solid kick to the back of his already injured leg. With Wolverine staggered, Sanders went for a t-bone suplex. As Sanders sent him over, Wolverine gained his composure and landed on his feet. Stumbling back into the ropes to make sure he didn't go down, Wolverine caught the unsuspecting Sanders as he turned around with the Michigan Death Driver!! Wolverine rolled him up and covered Sanders for the three count.

Wood: An impressive outing for Wolverine. Sanders put up a hell of a fight, but Wolverine put it all together in crunch time and came away with the victory.

Brewer: Well, I give credit to both men for that match. That was a fight, plain and simple. Man against man, no interference, with the better man coming out on top. Wolverine was the better man tonight. He deserved that victory.

Wood: There's no denying that Wolverine earned that win here tonight, but you have to give Sanders some credit as well. Considering the recent events involving his family and John Korso, I guess it's fair to say that Sanders had a lot on his mind. I'm sure he'll come back strong in his next outing. It's now time to decide the next opponents for Harbinger and The Destroyer in the tag team tournament. No Remorse battles it out with Blaze Adams and Lucas Coleman up next.

MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament - 1st Round Match
NO REMORSE vs. BLAZE ADAMS & LUCAS "BAD BOY" COLEMAN

With Harbinger and Destroyer already in the semi-finals, No Remorse looked to advance into a return match with the team they defeated to win the round robin. Blitzkrieg and Whiplash isolated Adams, the less experienced member of the opposing team, in their corner, making quick tags to keep the fresh man in at all times. When Coleman finally managed to get in, No Remorse took advantage of Adams' in experience, frequently drawing him into the ring to distract the referee while the they double teamed "Bad Boy", who had already been in two matches on the card. Almost toying with their opponents, No Remorse tossed a badly beaten and thoroughly exhausted Coleman into this corner and let him tag in Adams, who was no match for the former HWA Tag Team Champions. Once Blaze got in the ring, Whiplash nailed him with the Sweet Dreams before tagging in Blitz and nailing the Painful Demise for the three count.

Wood: So it looks almost effortless as No Remorse advances into a re- match with Harbinger and The Destroyer with a victory over Blaze Adams and Lucas Coleman, who were making their tag team debut here tonight.

Brewer: Blitzkrieg and Whiplash know what it takes to make it in tag team action. They've been teaming up on a high level for many, many months. Coleman and Adams had their work cut out for them going in, and obviously weren't up to the task tonight.

Wood: Speaking of The Destroyer, he gets his first shot at championship gold here tonight at Main Event Madness as he battles Christian Antamarius for the Extreme Championship. We've already seen a new Midwestern Champion crowned when Dr. No Limit pulled off a huge upset over Super Cupid earlier tonight. Could Destroyer be the next man to walk out as a new champion tonight? Let's go to the ring for some hardcore action!

MMP Extreme Championship
Falls Count Anywhere Match
CHRISTIAN ANTAMARIUS (C) vs. THE DESTROYER

Antamarius was joined for his first title defense by fellow Family members Psychotic Sam and The Saint, who were presumably on hand to prevent any outside any interference. Antamarius displayed the Extreme Championship belt around his waist, and carried his customary barbed wire cross with him. When The Destroyer came out, a large group of people in the stands got to their feet in unison. They all had blank looks on their face and wore black trenchcoats and ball caps. It was later learned that these people were other followers of The Cult Master. The match never even made it into the ring as the two big men battled up through the crowd right from the opening bell. Antamarius used his barbed wire cross to gain an early advantage, slamming it over Destroyer's head and nailing him with a suplex that sent him down about a dozen steps in amongst the fans.

Antamarius used everything he could find against Destroyer, even stealing a chair away from a fan and busting it over his opponent's skull. The two men then fought through the crowd into the hallway of the arena. Antamarius dragged his opponent towards the washroom. After security cleared the area of any spectators, the two men battled into the rest area. Antamarius went for an Irish whip, but Destroyer reversed it, sending Antamarius through the wooden stall doors. Antamarius came charging back, but Destroyer backdropped him onto the bathroom sink! Rolling him off the counter, Destroyer covered Antamarius on the washroom floor, but only got a two count. Dragging his opponent back into the hall, Destroyer stayed in control as they battled towards the locker room of the NFL's New Orleans Saints.

After busting through the locker room door, Destroyer grabbed a therapy table and went to slam it on Antamarius, but the champion grabbed a bench and jammed it into Destroyer's midsection before throwing it down hard on Destroyer's back. Antamarius then went out into the hall and grabbed a steel chair and took a swing at Destroyer, but the challenger ducked and the chair struck a locker. Destroyer grabbed a helmet out of one of the stalls and nailed Antamarius over the back of the head with it!! With Antamarius down, Destroyer went out into the tunnel and grabbed a ladder. Setting the ladder up in the middle of the locker room, Destroyer pulled Antamarius up to the top. Antamarius raked Destroyer's eyes and went for a superplex, but Destroyer's weight was too much for Antamarius to lift. Destroyer headbutted Antamarius and nailed Antamarius with a belly-to-belly suplex off the ladder onto a table covered with equipment repair tools!! The two men crashed through the table with Destroyer landing on top. The referee hopped over a box of helmet pads and counted three on the locker room floor, crowning The Destroyer as new Extreme Champion!

Wood: Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new MMP Extreme Champion, and that man is The Destroyer!! What a battle between Antamarius and Destroyer! Have you ever seen a match end in the locker room of a professional football team?

Brewer: No, I can't say that I have, Wood. The Extreme division has really been heating up since the Break-In Match at WrestleStorm '99. This is what today's fans want to see, men like Antamarius and The Destroyer battling it out no holds barred to see who the better man is.

Wood: That makes two new champions in two title matches here tonight. This is just a sign of how competitive things have become in the MMP over the past few weeks. The fans here tonight at the Superdome are a testament to just that. Well, Ray, it's time for the match you have been looking forward to the most here tonight. The Ryno, who is scheduled to participate in the World Championship match later tonight, is set to battle it out with Mr. Beumont up next here at Main Event Madness.

THE RYNO vs. MR. BEUMONT

Beumont came out with Banjo Buzz playing "A Real Man's Man" on the one-string banjo as he had done earlier in the night. When Beumont and the hobos hit the ring, Ryno quickly came out with a microphone with a proposition for his opponent:

Ryno: Beumont, it's time to play 'Let's Make a Deal'. You see, since you don't have the belt, it's kinda pointless to fight you. Considering you don't have the belt or any skills at all. Plus I have a big title match tonight. So I have a deal for you. Just look at the big screen.

The screen shows Mack's hearse filled with beer and whiskies and wine.

Ryno: You see that? That's a hell of a lot of alcohol right? That's no illusion, it's a hearse filled with alchohol. The size of the back of that hearse is probably the size of the refrigerator box you live in. Don't worry this is on the up and up. I may even join you back there after the PPV. All you have to do is forfeit the match. Honestly, there's no real point for wrestling each other. If you shake my hand, you get all that beer, plus I get to save myself for the title match. It's a win-win situation. So what do you say?

Beumont starts drooling at the sight of all that booze and trips over his own feet as he tries to get out of the ring. He and the hobos all take off out of the ring, running towards the hearse in the back. The referee starts the ten count, and Beumont is counted out. Ryno then speaks again.

Ryno: To all my fans, I'm sorry this match couldn't take place. But don't worry, I did this so the main event could be spectacular and I will become the new MMP World Champion.

As Ryno tosses the microphone aside, The Joker's Child and Ponch come running out from the crowd. Joker nails Ryno over the head with his oversized clown shoe filled with rocks and both he and Ponch put the boots to the former Universal Champion, making some unkind remarks towards Ryno's girlfriend Sarah the whole time. Referees are quickly sent out to pull them off, but the damage appears to be done.

Wood: Damn it!! What an attack by Joker and Ponch! As the referees help Ryno to the back, it looks like his participation in the World title match tonight could be in jeopardy.

Brewer: This was all obviously a set-up by The Family. Everybody knows about their history with Ryno, and this swerve may have just cost him a shot at the big prize. We'll have to wait until later tonight to see how much of an effect this will have on Ryno's chances in the big match. Maybe now he'll learn to watch his back with freaks like Joker and Ponch running around. I would have thought Ryno would know better.

Wood: As I'm sure is the case for everyone here in New Orleans, we are all curious as to the condition of The Ryno. We'll try and have a report here for you at the conclusion of our next match, pitting two impressive newcomers against one another, although Cherokee has promised to throw this match in order to make it to Boston in time for an ECWA tag title defense. Let's get to the ring.

CHEROKEE vs. THE CULT MASTER

Harbinger and The Destroyer accompanied their master to the ring, checking the ringside area for anyone who might be hiding and looking to interfere. Cherokee came to the ring alone and asked that the referee hurry up and ring the bell, claiming that he had a plane to catch. The bell sounded and Cult Master went right after his opponent, pounding him with punches and kicks to the body before using a dragon screw leg whip to take him down. Cult Master slapped on a figure four leglock, but before Cult Master could even fully apply the hold, Cherokee submitted, and the match was over. Cherokee jumped up as Cult Master looked around in surprise and took off to catch his plane to Boston.

Wood: Not quite the match we had anticipated here tonight, but it will go down as a victory for Cult Master nonetheless. Good luck to Cherokee in his ECWA tag title defense later tonight.

Brewer: I hope Cherokee's plane crashes and burns! What kind of guy would turn down a PPV match in a building like this with the number one wrestling company in the world to go to a bush league card in Boston. He blew a big chance here tonight.

Wood: I don't think that's a fair assessement. A wrestler like Cherokee has to prioritize. He had a choice to make, and he made it. We take you now to our third title match of the evening. Psychotic Sam makes a rare venture into a standard match tonight against arguably the hottest wrestler in the MMP today, "Corrupt" John Korso. It's Korso's first shot at a Championship in the MMP. Will he follow in the footsteps of Dr. No Limit and The Destroyer and capture his first taste of gold, or will Sam ride the wave of victory into the World Championship ten-man tag match later on tonight? Let's go to the ring!

MMP Universal Championship Match
PSYCHOTIC SAM (C) vs. "CORRUPT" JOHN KORSO

Korso came to the ring to a loud chorus of boos, the fans remembering how his interference may have cost Ghettoman the title only days ago on Hardcore Saturday Night. Sam was joined by The Saint and Mr. Beumont, and was carrying his dead stuffed cat Marbels while Saint held the Universal Championship. Sam went after his challenger right at the start, biting Korso's ear and pushing him back to the corner. As blood started to pour from Korso's head, Sam pulled off and took out his two false front teeth, raking them accross Korso's forehead and drawing even more crimson out of the challenger! After tossing Korso accross the ring by his hair, Sam kicked him a couple of times in the head before slamming his legs against the turnbuckle.

Sam pulled Korso up and ran at him with a flying body attack, but Korso caught him and quickly turned it into a powerslam. Taking a moment to catch his breath, Korso picked Sam up and nailed an atomic drop that sent Sam sternum-first into the corner before givng him a back suplex, landing Sam cranium first on the canvas. Sam rolled to the corner and started rocking back and forth, but Korso wouldn't let up. He pulled Sam out to the middle of the ring and nailed a big face buster then went for the cover. Sam didn't kick out, but managed to break the pin by grabbing Korso's mouth. As he came out from under the challenger, Sam pulled up on Korso's upper mouth and down on his lower jaw, trying to tear his face apart!

Out of desperation, Korso kicked Sam below the belt to free his face from Sam's grasp. He then immediately went for the Hollow Point, but Sam blocked it, backdropping Korso nearly over the top rope. As Korso hit the canvas, Sam started screaming and immediately slapped on the Psycho's Punishment!! It looked like Sam was going to win the match, but he had applied the move too close to the ropes. Korso's right leg reached under the bottom strand, and the referee had to forcibly pull Sam off his opponent. With Korso down, Sam fell back into the corner and started rocking back and forth again. Saint shouted instructions to Sam in the ring, telling him to finish Korso off. Korso stumbled back to his feet and Sam went for the Psychotic Smash...but Korso blocked it and countered with a fisherman suplex!! The referee flew into position and counted the 1...2...3!!

Wood: Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new Universal Champion, and that man is "Corrupt" John Korso!! Sam looked like he had that match won, but Korso, always thinking, managed to counter the Psychotic Smash and stun Sam long enough for the three count to win the title.

Brewer: It's about damn time somebody beat Sam. Maybe now that gaggle of transients will take a walk out of town. This is a wrestling company, not some loonie bin sideshow! I'm glad to see that a real wrestler is once again Universal Champion, following in the tradition of The Ryno and Captain O'Conner rather than some crazy man who lives in the doorway of the nuthouse.

Wood: That makes three new champions crowned here tonight, and we know that a new World Champion will be crowned only moments from now. Before our main event here at Main Event Madness, we take you to the big 2-out-of-3-Falls Match in a feud that has been brewing since back in the fall of 1998 in the GWF. Former GWF Champion The Ghettoman takes on former GWF Commissioner Clay Moore, here tonight in New Orleans!

2-out-of-3-Falls Match
THE GHETTOMAN vs. CLAY MOORE

Enraged after his Hardcore Saturday Night loss to Psychotic Sam, Ghettoman went right after Clay Moore in the first fall, which would be contested as a standard match. Ghetto bodyslammed Moore and nailed him with a DDT right away, not paying any regard to The Bootlegger and The Bootleggerettes, who had made their way back to their front row seats after a lengthy absence. Ghetto was really laying a beating on Moore, taking him down with a running lariat and dragging him to the turnbuckle where he strapped Moore upside down in a tree of woe position and attacked his knees with a variety of running elbow smashes. Clay Moore was almost letting himself take a beating, as he never mounted any offense in the first fall and put up very little defense against Ghetto's assault. After releasing Moore, Ghetto nailed a brainbuster suplex and immediately applied the Ghetto Fabulous! Moore wasted no time in tapping out, giving the first fall to Ghettoman.

Moore just laid in the corner during the sixty-second rest period allowed between falls. As the bell rang to begin the second fall, the referee applied the leather strap that would join the two men for the Strap Match. Ghetto didn't let up even though he had the one-fall lead. Standing Moore in the corner, Ghetto went for a tornado DDT, but Moore countered, nailing Ghetto with a face buster!! It was now apparent that Moore had been playing possum throughout the first fall of the contest. Moore nailed a pair of elbowdrops on Ghetto's knee before getting down around his opponent's head, repeatedly raking his eyes and lashing his face witht the strap. Ghetto fought back, taking some sweeping kicks at Moore's legs while he was lying on the mat, backing Moore off into the corner. Moore slapped the buckle pad, but as he moved on to the second, Ghetto whipped him around and nailed a German suplex!! Both men were down, and the crowd was on it's feet to watch this intense match-up. As the two competitors started getting to their feet, The Bootleggerettes both climbed over the guardrail in the front row and got up on the ring apron, teasing the referee. With the official distracted, The Bootlegger jumped the rail and got in the ring behind Ghettoman, jabbing him in the back with a long, red taser!!! Ghetto's body riveted back and forth as hundreds of volts coursed through his body. Bootlegger let out a villanous laugh as he quickly slid out of the ring, grabbed the Bootleggerette's off the apron by their behinds, and took off towards the dressing room. The referee turned around to see Moore dragging Ghetto's spasming body around the ring, slapping each of the four corner pads to take the second fall.

The cell lowered from the ceiling during the rest period before the third fall. The referee searched the ringside area for any possible interference as a medic checked on Ghettoman to see if he was able to continue. The former Midwestern Champion insisted that he would fight the final fall, no matter what his condition. Moore didn't wait for the "True Ghetto Warrior" to get up before attacking at the open of the Hell in a Cell third fall. Moore slammed Ghetto's head into the side of the cell and nailed a backbreaker on the floor before rolling Ghetto back in the ring. Clay then sent his opponent off the ropes and went for a backdrop, but Ghetto saw it coming and nailed a running ax kick to the back of Moore's skull!! With Moore lying face down in the ring, Ghetto limped to the outside and reached under the ring. He pulled out a bloody tombstone, the same one that had been used in a GWF match between Gemini Killer and Christian Antamarius! Ghetto pushed the stone into the ring and pulled Moore up and went for a tombstone piledriver, but Moore spun out of it and nailed Ghettoman with a spinning heel kick! Moore gave the sign for the House of Pain, but instead grabbed Ghettoman and nailed a tornado DDT...landing his skull onto the bloody tombstone!!! Moore quickly rolled Ghetto up for the 1...2...3 to win the match 2 falls to 1! The camera then goes backstage, where Steve Lewin is trying to get some words with The Bootlegger.

Lewin: Mr. Barlotta, what in the world were you doing interfering in the Clay Moore/Ghettoman match?

Bootlegger: Sorry Ghetto-guy, but I just couldn't help myself. Hahahahahahahahahaaaaaaah!!! Oh and as for anyone asking. (Bootlegger nods towards the shockstick.) I've been using this little gizmo long before Scott Hall has, hahahahahahah!!

Wood: Clay Moore wins! Clay Moore wins! After nailing a tornado DDT onto the granite gravestone, Clay Moore has defeated Ghettoman in this gruelling 2-out-of-3- Falls Match!

Brewer: Sure, but he didn't exactly do it on his own. Moore had some help from The Bootlegger in winning the Strap Match, and the Hell in a Cell fall could have gone either way. You have to wonder what this will mean for Ghettoman in the big World title match coming up next. First Ryno, now Ghettoman. DK, O'Conner, and Firestar could be in trouble heading into this match.

Wood: From what we understand, both Ryno and Ghettoman will, in spite of their injuries, be coming out in a few moments to compete for the MMP World Championship. Some of the most unlikely teams you will ever see will do battle, with the winner coming away with the biggest prize in the business. The Congregation teams up with Psychotic Sam as well as former High Society members Mr. Marvellous and Aries to take on former two-time Champion Diamond King, The Ryno, Captain Patrick O'Conner, The Ghettoman, and Firestar. It should be the most hotly contested match-up in MMP history. Let's not waste any more time as we send it up to the ring to crown a new Champion here at Main Event Madness!!

MMP World Championship Match
DIAMOND KING, THE RYNO, CAPTAIN PATRICK O'CONNER, FIRESTAR & THE GHETTOMAN vs. THE CONGREGATION, ARIES, PSYCHOTIC SAM & MR. MARVELLOUS

The thirty-six SWAT team members came down to surround the ring before the participants were introduced. The ring soon filled up with talent, and the ringside area was also surrounded with back-up, including Jamaal, The Saint, George Achica, and Big Daddy Cash, who was holding Mr. Marvellous' "Greatest Man Alive Championship". At the opening bell, Aries grabbed Firestar and nailed him over the head with a lead pipe, nearly knocking the former Gemini Killer unconscious right away. Firestar looked to have lost a lot of weight since the Mental Hospital Match, and his face was still covered in burn marks that made him almost unrecognizable. Aries brought Firestar to the floor and slammed him back-first into the steel post before hip-tossing him out into the aisle. As Aries fought back towards the entrance way, a large wall of pyro shot up, blocking Aries off from the ring and distracting the big man long enough for Gemini Killer to come out from the back and nail him over the head with a steel chair!! Firestar, apparently, was a stunt double!!! The two battled towards the back. Ryno and Masochrist then got in the ring to replace their departed teammates. Ryno got the advantage, peppering Masochrist with punches and kicks before tagging in O'Conner. O'Conner went after the big man's legs with a series of kicks before taking him down and applying a leglock. Using his height to his advantage, Masochrist reached over to the corner and tagged in Super Cupid while still in the leglock. Before O'Conner could get up, DK stepped halfway into the ring and slapped him on the back, constituting an official tag. DK caught Cupid coming in with a running lariat and then hip tossed him over the top rope to the floor.

The camera then cut back to Aries and Gemini Killer, who were now battling in the under-belly of the Superdome. Aries slammed Gemini into the door to a storage room in the basement and the two fought on. Back in the ring, Ghettoman was now in the ring, doing battle with Psychotic Sam in a rematch of sorts from Hardcore Saturday Night. Sam, distraught after his earlier loss to Korso, was savagely attacking Ghetto, raking his dentures along Ghetto's neck and back. With Ghetto down, Sam started stomping Ghetto's face. Masochrist then reached into the ring and pulled Sam to the corner where he tagged himself in. Ghetto saw Maso coming and took his former tag team partner down with a drop toehold. Ghetto sent Maso into the corner and started working on him with rights and lefts, but Ryno saw his opening and slapped Ghetto's back to bring himself into the match. Ryno hip-tossed Maso out of the corner and came off the ropes with a springboard moonsault and went for the cover, but Maso kicked out. Ryno made the tag to O'Conner, who came in and applied another leglock on Masochrist to wear him down. Sam snapped, and came running into the ring to attack O'Conner. The referee had to pull him off, causing a break in O'Conner's hold. O'Conner tagged in DK while Maso made an unwilling exchange with Mr. Marvellous.

The two bitter enemies stared each other down in the middle of the ring, while on the outside, Jamaal rammed Big Daddy Cash into the steel ringpost and stole the Greatest Man Alive belt. He got in the ring behind Marvellous and slammed the belt against his skull! Marvellous stumbled forward and DK took him down with a lariat before slapping on the Lethal Injection! DK raised his fist in a sign of expected victory. The cameras again went back to Gemini Killer and Aries, still battling in the basement. Mocking Aries' tendency to give his opponents three Godly Drops, Gemini delivered four Gemini Busters before locking Aries in the basement!! He took off back towards the ring as the cameras went back to the action. Marv was trapped in the Lethal Injection, but Ryno wouldn't stand for it. Grabbing a shield away from a SWAT team member at ringside, Ryno ran into the ring and smashed DK over the head to break the hold! Suddenly, everyone was in the ring! All eight men still at ringside where involved. SWAT team members had to separate Jamaal, Achica, Saint and Big Daddy Cash as the brawled on the outside. With everyone embroiled in battle, the cameras spotted Mr. Beumont, Hobo Richard, and Welfare William on a window washing ledge in the rafters. The three men then each dumped a trash can filled with garbage down to the ring!! Sam and O'Conner fought out to the floor while DK slammed Marvellous into the ringpost. Masochrist and Ghettoman were fighting in the aisle with SWAT team members trying to get the wrestlers back in the ring. Richard dumped the last of the trash into the ring, including a brick that landed square on Super Cupid's head. Seeing his opportunity, Ryno grabbed a stun gun away from the SWAT team and zapped Cupid in the ribs. Gemini Killer emerged in the entrance way and saw his fellow competitors battling all around the ringside area, but was startled to see Ryno nail Cupid with a Ryno Charge right in the middle of the ring and made the cover. Stunned, Gemini took off towards the ring as the referee counted 1...2...Gemini slides under the bottom rope as the referee hits 3!!!! The Ryno is the MMP World Champion!!!! Gemini attacked Ryno, but the match was already over. More security had to be called down to break up the different skirmishes around the ring and in the runway. Ryno, the new Champion, and Gemini Killer battled back and forth as the screen fades to black.
