Greensboro Coliseum – Greensboro, NC
MMP Hardcore Saturday Night is on the air! More than 15, 000 fans are jammed into the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina for tonight’s huge card. Commentators Jerry Wood and Ray Brewer are at ringside.
Wood: Welcome, everyone, to Hardcore Saturday Night! I’m Jerry Wood alongside Ray Brewer here in Greensboro for tonight’s huge event. We’ve got a stellar lineup for you tonight, two titles are on the line and in our main event we will place one team in the finals of the tag team championship tournament. That competition is set to conclude a couple of weeks from now at March Mayhem, and when we leave here tonight we will know if it will be either The Cult or The Cartel having representation in that final match. Harbinger and The Destroyer, the winners of the round robin portion of the tournament, look to advance to the finals as they did last year when they take on the team of The Bootlegger and Inferno, a substitute for “Stunning” Steve Simon, who as many of you know is no longer with the MMP. Whoever wins tonight will face the winner of the Childs & Achica versus Death & Wolverine match next weekend for the championship.
Brewer: We’ve also got two big championship matches set to go down here tonight. Virus Richards puts the extreme title on the line, although no one has yet been able to determine who this unnamed opponent will be. A lot of names, ranging from Christian Antimarius to “Massacre” Mark Allyn to Wasted Youth, have been thrown around backstage as possibilities, but still no confirmation. The TV title will also be defended with The Destroyer, who will be pulling a rare double here tonight by competing in two matches on one card, puts the belt up against Benjamin Childs in an “I Quit” match.
Wood: Plenty of other action on the card as well. The new midwestern champion, “Amazing” Andrew Peters, faced George Achica inside the confines of a steel cage later on tonight. We’ve got a lumberjack featuring The Cult Master against Hyoga, and the ring return of MmX who does battle with The Regulator in a falls count anywhere match between two former extreme champions. There’s a lot happening here tonight, so without further adieu, we send you to our opening contest. The TV title is on the line in the “I Quit” match!
MMP Television Championship
”I Quit” Match
THE DESTROYER (C) vs. BENJAMIN CHILDS
Making his way to the ring first was the massive television champion The Destroyer, being accompanied by his tag team partner Harbinger, who was pushing a dumpster down towards the ring. Before the big man could make it very far, though, out came Benjamin Childs running in from the dressing room with a steel chair in hand. He smashed Destroyer across the back with the chair not once but twice, bringing the champion to his knees. George Achica, Zane, Charles, and Thomas then came rushing out from the back to make sure Harbinger didn’t try to get involved, backing the rabid man down towards the ring as Childs DDT’d Destroyer onto the steel chair. With the big man down Childs helped himself to some of the weapons in the dumpster that Harbinger had wheeled down, first pulling out a trash can which he dented over Destroyer’s head. The second time Childs reached into the dumpster he pulled out a small white sack. After pulling the tie off and opening the bag, Childs revealed it’s contents as he dumped hundreds of thumbtacks out onto the arena floor. He pulled Destroyer and over and started to get him back to his feet, but Destroyer interrupted with a hard right hand to the jaw that dazed his opponent. A second right staggered Childs even more, allowing him to grab the challenger and deliver not one but two big backbreakers. Destroyer dropped Childs to the floor, leaving him lying on the floor clutching his back in pain. The champ continued to try and shake the effects of Childs’ earlier attacks as he pulled a pair of brass knuckles out of his boot and placed it on his right hand. He then reached into the dumpster, producing a 2x4 which he slammed down repeatedly on the challenger’s injured back. With Childs writhing in agony on the arena floor, Destroyer pulled the challenger back to his feet and locked him in a punishing bearhug, shaking him violently back and forth on the outside of the ring. After running forward and ramming Childs back-first into the ring post, Destroyer walked over to where Childs had dumped his thumbtacks earlier in the match and grabbed two hands full of the sharp metal objects, dropping them down onto Ben Childs’ face. He then grabbed his 2x4 once again and wound up a big swing aimed squarely at the thumbtack-covered face of his adversary. Luckily for Childs, though, he was able to roll out of the way, causing Destroyer’s board to hit nothing but arena floor. Childs moved quickly, grabbing the tacks off of his face and tossing them at Destroyer. While the champion put his hands up to keep the tacks away from his face, Childs nailed the big man with a low blow and scooped him up, delivering the Limit Driver on the arena floor! The move had obviously taken a lot out of Childs’, who grabbed his back in pain after nailing the move, but still managed to walk over and grab a table which Zane had just pulled out from under the ring. The two men set it up over the spread out plane of thumbtacks and Childs grabbed Destroyer, setting the champion on top of it. Childs then climbed into the ring and up to the top rope and came off with a flying elbow, but Destroyer slid off the table just in time, sending Childs crashing through the table and down onto the thumbtacks. Destroyer was quick to capitalize on his opponent’s mistake, pulling Childs up into a powerbomb, dropping him back-first onto the steel safety rail! Childs rolled over in tremendous pain on the floor, rolling right into Destroyer, who slapped on the Will Breaker!! The pain was too much for Childs, who eventually gave into the referee’s questioning and said “I Quit”. Destroyer retained the TV belt, and headed back to the dressing room to prepare for his tag team match later in the card.
Wood: The Destroyer remains the MMP television champion with an impressive win over Benjamin Childs here tonight, but one big task still stands in the path of the big man here tonight in Greensboro in the tag team championship tournament. One would have to think that this match has taken it’s toll on Destroyer. There’s no way he can be at 100% going into the match against the Instruments of Destruction later on. Hold on…I understand there’s something going on backstage….can we get a camera back there…
The camera cuts backstage, where it is clear that an ambush has just taken place. The picture shows the back of a man holding a trash can and stomping away on someone who is down on the floor. MMP officials come running in to break it up, and at that point the man standing is revealed as being Death. After Death has been backed away, more officials help Wolverine, the victim, to his feet.
Wood: What in the world is Death doing? He’s got to work together with Wolverine if he is to have any chance at all at advancing through the tag team championship tournament. We have seen those two men going at it several times in the recent past, and we know that their partnership was on shaky ground at best. Only time will tell if they’ll be able to patch things up in time for next week’s match with Ben Childs and George Achica. And while we’re on the topic of George Achica, he’s set to do battle in our next match, taking on the new MMP midwestern champion, “Amazing” Andrew Peters. This will be a non-title match, and will be held inside the steel cage. The cage is lowering around the ring to be fastened as we speak so lets go back to the ring for our next bout!
Steel Cage Match
”AMAZING” ANDREW PETERS vs. GEORGE ACHICA
George came to the ring first with Thomas and Charles and was wearing a pair of brass knuckles on each fist in anticipation of this anything-goes match. When he got down to the ring he pulled two tables out from underneath and slid them into the cage before entering the ring himself to wait on his opponent. Peters then made his way down, accompanied as always by Amanda. He climbed the steps towards the door to the cage and turned towards the crowd, holding the midwestern championship belt high in the air. As boos filled the arena George, with a steel chair in hand, approached Peters from behind and delivered a devastating blow with the weapon, sending Peters falling off the steps and down to the arena floor below. George exited the cage and joined Peters on the floor, picking the man up and dropping him throat first across the steel safety rail. He then grabbed Peters and rammed him back first into the wall of the cage before sending the man into the ring to start the match. The cage door was locked as George followed his opponent in, but he was cut off as he did by a kick to the knee from Peters. A second kick backed George up into the ropes and Peters whipped him off the far side, catching him on the rebound with a high knee to the jaw. George went down hard and Peters applied a rear chinlock, keeping the big man down while taking an opportunity to catch his breath. After a few moments Peters released the hold and bounced off the ropes, dropping an elbow across Achica’s sternum. With the big man down Peters started to focus on knee of his opponent, stomping the joint repeatedly and dragging Achica over to the ropes where he set the leg on the middle strand and delivered a series of vertical splashes across the knee. He then pulled George back towards the center of the ring, where he applied a figure four leglock. George was in obvious pain, but was nowhere near ready to submit. He lunged backwards for the ropes, but they were out of his reach. A second lunge brought George closer and on the third try he was able to grab the bottom strand with one hand, forcing Peters to break the hold. With a badly injured leg George was slow getting back to his feet, and Peters took full advantage. He approached George slowly and nailed him with a series of European uppercuts that backed the big man into the turnbuckle and then positioned himself behind George and applied a sleeperhold. The crowd’s boos intensified as things were looking bleak for George. He had taken quite a pounding and was trying to support himself on only one good leg. He soon fell down to one knee, but before the ref could move in to check on him he shot back to his feet and ran backwards, crushing Peters in the corner and breaking the hold. George grabbed Peters and whipped him across the ring into the far turnbuckle, which Peters hit hard. He then stopped in the corner and removed all three turnbuckle pads from that one corner in the ring, exposing the steel buckles beneath. George moved across the ring and grabbed Peters again, whipping him back across the ring into the exposed corner sending waves of pain through Peters’ body. Peters stumbled out, and walked right into George’s waiting arms as the big man clamped him in a bearhug. After nearly a minute George simply dropped Peters’ lifeless body to the canvas, and walked over to where he had left the two tables that he had brought out earlier in the match. He set up one and pulled Peters over, setting him on the table, and bounced off the ropes for a big splash. At the last second, though, Peters rolled out of the way, and George’s splash caught nothing but table. The midwestern champion reacted quickly, applying the Antagonizer before George could even get up again. George tapped out, and Peters was announced as the winner.
Wood: Another win here for “Amazing” Andrew Peters, who is really on a roll as of late here in the MMP. With the way things are going, he could have a very long reign as midwestern champion.
Brewer: Well, that still remains to be seen. Peters has yet to endure the pressure of a title defense situation. When a challenger is gunning for your title, he’s going to pull out all the stops to try and take you down. We don’t know if Peters is going to be able to stand up to that kind of heat. I will say this, though, with the way he has handled opponents in recent weeks, it could very well be a long time before anyone wrestles that belt away from Andrew Peters.
Wood: OK, I understand that Steve Lewin is backstage and has caught up with Death. Let’s see if we can get an answer as to why he ambushed his tag team partner Wolverine earlier tonight. Take it Steve.
Lewin: Death, explain your actions. What was that about earlier? That was your partner for Christ’s sake.
Death: Actions?? What actions?? I was simply walking behind Wolvie to ask him about next week’s strategy. He seemed to have tripped over a banana peel that some psychotic probably threw. I tried to help him up, but it seemed as though his head was hurting as I tried to help him. The referees then started pulling me off while I tried to help my buddy, and the referees started beating up Wolverine for no apparent reason. Somebody has to stop these referees from acting wildly against the wrestlers.
Lewin: That's a lie and you know it.
Just then, Wolverine interrupts the interview by drilling Death in the back of the head with a hubcap! Lewin backs away quickly as Wolverine rolls Death over and lays into him with a series of punches to the face until more referees come in to break it up.
Wood: If you ask me, that Death/Wolverine partnership is as good as dead. I sincerely doubt that any two men who hate each other as much as those two do can work together long enough to make it through the tag team championship tournament. If anything, this has to bode well for Benjamin Childs and George Achica, who could find themselves with an easy path to the finals if their next opponents can’t co-exist. It’s now time for the lumberjack match pitting The Cult Master against Hyoga. This is quickly becoming a regular setting for The Cult Master, having defeated Inferno in this type of match just over a week ago at MMP Invasion. Can he keep his winning streak alive, or will Hyoga have what it takes to bring the leader of The Cult down?
Lumberjack Match
THE CULT MASTER vs. HYOGA
Before either man could be introduced, the lumberjacks made their way down to the ring. First it was the duo of Aries and MMP newcomer Hades, then the team of Benjamin Childs and George Achica. Finally another newcomer, the mysterious Cloaked Shroud, made his way down, making a total of five men on the outside. That number doubled, however, as Hyoga made his entrance. Flanked by Milov Scorpio and four of Scorpio’s men, the Swiss star entered the ring, looking somewhat uncertain of his escorts’ motives for being at ringside. The Cult Master then appeared, accompanied by Harbinger and The Destroyer as well as several Cult minions. His long entrance procession made Hyoga, and several of the lumberjacks for that matter, quite restless on the outside. Hyoga began pacing back and forth while the ceremony took place. Cult Master slowly stepped into the ring, and the length of his entrance seemed to have served it’s purpose, shaking Hyoga’s concentration long enough for Cult Master to catch his opponent by surprise and deliver a big spear tackle! Hyoga had the wind knocked out of him, and Cult Master took full advantage in the early going. He pulled Hyoga up and delivered a series of kicks and European uppercuts that backed his opponent into the corner where Cult Master then rammed his shoulder repeatedly into Hyoga’s midsection. Cult Master backed away and Hyoga stumbled forward, right into Cult Master’s waiting arms, allowing him to deliver a DDT. Hyoga was in obvious trouble early on, and Cult Master didn’t let up. He pulled Hyoga up again, but this time was stopped by a desperation jab to the eye from Hyoga, who then whipped Cult Master across the ring into the far turnbuckle. Then, lowering his head, Hyoga charged like a battering ram and slammed his own head right into the midsection of his opponent. The referee stepped in and order Hyoga to let Cult Master out of the corner, and when Hyoga backed up Aries and Hades sprung into action. They grabbed Cult Master by the legs and straddled him on the ring post before pulling him out to the floor and starting to hammer on the man who had made Aries bow a couple of months previously. Harbinger and The Destroyer were quick to intervene, and before long a huge brawl had broken out on the arena floor. Childs and Achica joined in and double-teamed The Destroyer. The Cloaked Shroud watched curiously from afar, but then joined in as well and when he saw an opening he grabbed Hades and delivered his finishing move, the Maelstrom, right on the arena floor! The Shroud then walked away and headed back to the locker room, while the other lumberjacks tossed Cult Master back into the ring. With his opponent on the canvas Hyoga walked over and quickly started to choke the man, pressing his boot down across Cult Master’s throat. Again the referee had to intervene, which irritated Hyoga since this was a no disqualification match. While the argument ensued Cult Master was pulling himself to his feet, but up onto the apron hopped Milov Scorpio, wielding a bottle of vodka. He shattered the bottle across the back of Cult Master’s head, sending him stumbling into Hyoga, who connected with a fisherman suplex for the 1…2…Cult Master kicked out. Hyoga was livid. He quickly pulled Cult Master to his feet and clamped both his hands around his opponent’s throat, lifting him in the air in a double choke and dropping him straddled on the top turnbuckle. Cult Master was in obvious pain, and Hyoga was ready to finish him off. While Hyoga exchanged some last minute words with the referee, one of the Cult minions hurried over and reached up to his leader, passing him an undisclosed foreign object. Hyoga moved in for the kill, but when he did he was met with a rake across the forehead with a pizza cutter! He stumbled back, his forehead sliced open, allowing Cult Master to get down from the top. Cult Master quickly took advantage, nailing Hyoga with a boot to the midsection followed by a brainbuster! Hyoga’s head was driven into the canvas and Cult Master made the cover for the 1..2…3.
Wood: The Cult Master continues his winning ways here at Hardcore Saturday Night, while Hyoga continues to struggle to get back on that winning track. I would think it can’t be too long before The Cult Master gets into the title hunt if he can keep building on this winning streak.
While Wood and Brewer are discussing the match, reporter Steve Lewin makes his way out from the dressing room and enters the ring. He has a confused look on his face and shrugs his shoulders towards Wood and Brewer when suddenly the lights in the arena go out and Machine Head's "Struck A Nerve" starts to play over the PA system. A white spotlight cuts through the darkness and points to the entrance, where a jet black Cadillac convertible drives out to the ring. It isn't until the car is completely out of the entrance way that we see The Ryno standing up in the back seat wearing an Armani suit with his hair slicked back. The car pulls up to the ring for Ryno, who walks all over the upholstery and over the windshield onto the hood before entering the ring with the spotlight following him the whole way. Ryno grabs the mic away from Lewin and waves him off, telling him that he's doing his own interview. The lights come back on and Ryno prepares to speak with the crowd cheering loudly.
Ryno: I don't wanna sound mean but will you all shut up?
The crowd cheers even louder at his address.
Ryno: No, you aren't dreaming. The number one ratings draw of the MMP
has returned, and ironically, back to the show that was named after him which
is Hardcore Saturday Night. While I heard every single fan in this place
screaming in unison, I also heard every single wrestler in the back pissing
their pants in unison. Now, I know what you guys are thinking. "Ryno,
aren't you...ya know...crazy?" Well, I had this paper saying I wasn't
anymore but I ran out of TP, so I wrote it on my hand and I don't care if
the word SANE is spelled wrong or not, so technically, yes, I am crazy!
Even though I'm crazy, the time I spent in the asylum gave me some much
needed time for self-reflection. I realized that I wasn't the loser I thought I was most of my life. I realized that people care about me and those people are the fans! And most importantly, I realized that I didn't
need to dwell over one chick, cuz I could any girl in attendance here tonight! Now I didn't come back to dwell on the past, I came back to change the future. I see that the Syndicate has undergone a name change lately. So they call themselves the Cartel now? So what! For now, I don't care about The Cartel or The Organization of Child Molesters or even The C*nt...I mean The Cl*t...geez, I mean The Cult. There's just one man I want to talk about tonight. A man who I have some unfinished business with. A man who goes by the name of Venereal Disease Richards. VD, you may remember the last time we "met" was the night I
tried hanging myself. That wasn't because you had me all depressed and thinking that you would win the match. Oh no. It was because I didn't want my name dragged down by being involved in one of your many piece of sh*t matches. But now, I guess I have no choice since you're degrading and defaming my
two most favoritest titles, the Extreme title and the World title. Now, we all know how you got the World title, seeing as you have the most "stroke" here in the MMP, but how the f*ck did you get the Extreme title? You are not, and I repeat, ARE NOT EXTREME!! You are about as extreme as BMX biking with training wheels is to the X Games. So, VD, you want a fight with the American Psycho, bring it cuz I can't f*cking wait. Oh yeah, I think all the fans have 4 words for you.
Fans: DON'T F*CK WITH THIS!!!
Ryno tosses the mic down to the mat as he gets back in his car. He stands and waves to the fans as the Cadillac backs away from the ring and into the back.
Wood: The Ryno had made his return to the MMP, and it looks like he’s headed directly for the MMP world champion, Virus Richards! We’ve heard Virus going on for months about how he forced Ryno into his suicide attempt, and it looks like the time for revenge could be now. I’d sure hate to be in Virus Richards’ shoes knowing that I have a barely-sane former world champion coming for me. Speaking of Richards, though, the time has come to find out who this unnamed opponent is for his extreme title defense. We’ve discussed the rumors backstage, but the time for speculation is over. The MMP extreme title is on the line next!
MMP Extreme Championship Match
VIRUS RICHARDS (C) vs. UNNAMED OPPONENT
Virus came to the ring first, accompanied by Inferno. He was wearing both of his championship belts around his waist as “Ode” blared over the loudspeaker. As soon as he got to the ring he removed the two belts, handed them to Inferno, and demanded a mic to introduce his opponent.
Virus: Ladies and gentlemen, after that sorry excuse for a former champion that you were just forced to listen to, I have gone to great lengths to brighten your evening here tonight. What you are about to see is an epic championship match that will go down as one of the greatest man-to-man battles that has ever taken place in pro wrestling. I know I could have had yet another match with Wolverine here in Greensboro, but the man I have found to challenge me for my very deserved extreme championship tonight is far more accomplished than anyone that the city of Detroit has ever produced. His win-loss record is unparalleled in wrestling history. He has held heavyweight and tag team championships in other promotions, and is himself a former MMP extreme champion. He is without a doubt one of the greatest entertainers that the wrestling business has ever produced, and offers proof that not everyone who chooses to wrestle in simple black tights and boots needs to have cheers and the sound of people chanting his name piped into the arena. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the one, the only, GILLBEUMONT!!!
With that announcement comes a loud chorus of boos as members of the CWO came out from the dressing room holding tiny sparklers. Within seconds Mr. Beumont emerged, wearing a simple wrestling attire of black trunks and boots, waving his arms erratically. Welfare William stood in front of Beumont and sprayed him in the face with a fire extinguisher, knocking the man off his feet. Beumont finally managed to stagger into the ring, and was immediately nailed in the back of the head by Inferno, wielding the MMP extreme championship belt. The challenger was knocked out, and Virus calmly walked over to him. The champion placed one foot on Beumont and flexed for the crowd as the ref counted the 1…2…3.
Wood: What a waste of time that was! Gillbeumont?! That could be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Ray?
Brewer: No comment. It’s bad enough that we have to endure a night of this garbage wrestling where every match is filled with chair shots and tables, but to have Mr. Beumont paraded out here under the guise of a legitimate title contender is absurd. I wash my hands of this whole thing.
Wood: Well, hopefully our next match will be a little more competitive. Masked Menace X makes his return to the ring next, and is shooting for some big game right off the bat. He’s got the universal champion The Regulator in a falls count anywhere match coming up next.
Falls Count Anywhere Match
THE REGULATOR vs. MMX
An array of green fireworks went off near the entrance way as The Regulator, wearing his customary gold battle mask and plastic elbow pad, made his way down to the ring. While this was going on, cameras noticed The Bootlegger and Inferno also making their way towards the ring through the spectators. The two men stood by ringside as The Regulator entered. The music then changed to “The Antipop” by Primus when out from the back came….MmX. It was, however, not the real Masked Menace X. Instead it was Ponch, wearing an MMX costume, carrying a big bag of potato chips in one hand and scratching his rear end with the other. Ponch stopped in the runway and taunted Reg, causing Reg to jump out of the ring and chase Ponch back to the dressing room. The chase continued outside into the parking where Reg finally caught up with Ponch and slammed him into the side of the arena. The referee soon followed, and upon exiting the arena spotted Reg making a cover. He got down and counted the 1…2…3, giving Regulator a fairly easy win. Reg then turned and headed back into the arena, but before he could get inside a beat up old Pinto came screeching around the corner and slammed into him from behind. The universal champion went down hard as the driver of the car, The Joker’s Child, got out and started berating him. Just then, members of the CWO came out from the arena and, while William, Richard, and China Town held him down, Beumont snatched the battle mask off of Reg’s face. Beumont put it on and the CWO jumped into the car. Joker grabbed Ponch and tossed him in the back seat and drove away.
Wood: Looks like The Family has officially made it’s return to the MMP after more than a month away from competition, and I guess it’s fair to say that they’re picking up right where they left of in their war with The Regulator.
Brewer: This is getting ridiculous, Wood. How long is this feud going to go on? I mean, can we get a Regulator vs. Joker’s Child match signed already. It seems like all Joker is interested in is getting in the most cheap shots. Actually winning matches doesn’t seem to be a very high priority for him, even though that is exactly what we are supposed to be doing here!
Wood: That’s very…hang on, I understand there’s another scuffle in the backstage area. Can we get a camera on that? No? Well, what’s going on? OK, OK, folks I’ve just received word of a huge announcement for next weekend’s Saturday Night Slams card. It seems that while The Regulator was making his way back into the arena, he was confronted by MMP world and extreme champion Virus Richards. Luckily officials were able to intervene before things could get out of hand, but I understand that during the melee a match was signed for next weekend. That’s right, next weekend in our main event it will be Virus Richards putting the MMP world championship on the line against The Regulator!! That really is major news, with Richards’ showdown with The Bootlegger only a couple of weeks away. What a war it’s going to be next week on SNS! Now, before we get to next week, we still have one match to go here tonight, and it’s our main event. Harbinger and The Destroyer take on the Instruments of Destruction, with the winners advancing to the finals of the MMP tag team championship tournament coming up at March Mayhem. Harbinger and Destroyer are former champions as you know, but with the grueling match Destroyer had earlier tonight against Childs, there’s no way he can be at 100%. I guess we’ll find out exactly what he has left momentarily, as the introductions are about to begin.
MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament – 1st Round Match
HARBINGER & THE DESTROYER vs. INSTRUMENTS OF DESTRUCTION
With Harbinger and Destroyer already waiting in the ring, the Instruments of Destruction made their way down accompanied by ASSociate Passion. The arrogant duo stepped calmly through the ropes as their opponents waited. They began playing rock/paper/scissors to determine which man would begin, but Harbinger and Destroyer had waited long enough. The Cult team immediately attacked the pair from The Cartel, with Harbinger hopping on Bootlegger’s back and raking his eyes while Destroyer floored Inferno with a clothesline. Destroyer then turned his attention to Bootlegger, and with the aid of Harbinger took the Italian down with a pair of big right hands. Harbinger choked Bootlegger while Destroyer stomped Inferno. The two men then focused on Inferno, and with Harbinger grabbing the man’s arms and Destroyer his feet, used a big double-swing to send Inferno over the top rope to the floor. The crowd cheered loudly as Inferno struck the concrete. Bootlegger tried to roll under the bottom rope to safety, but he couldn’t escape the hungry Cult team. Harbinger and Destroyer grabbed Bootlegger and executed a similar move, catapulting Bootlegger over the top rope and onto Inferno, knocking both men to the floor. With their opponents trying to compose themselves on the outside Harbinger and Destroyer kept the double-team tactics coming. This time, Destroyer grabbed Harbinger and lifted him high in the air in a gorilla press slam, tossing him over the top onto the two opponents. This, however, proved to be a mistake. Showing off his impressive strength, Inferno caught Harbinger in mid air and rammed him back-first into the steel ring post. He then simply dropped Harbinger to the floor as Bootlegger reached into one of the compartments of his trusty riot gear. Both Instruments of Destruction the got back in the ring. Destroyer dropped Inferno with a right hand, but was then met with a shot to the side of the head from a wrench wielded by Bootlegger. Inferno stepped out to the apron, offering this affair some semblance of a tag team match for the first time as Bootlegger whipped Destroyer off the ropes and caught him coming back with a high knee. He then tagged in Inferno, who nailed a big running legdrop before pulling Destroyer back to his feet. Inferno went for a suplex, but the 493-pound frame of Destroyer proved to be too much for him to get over. He lost his grip on Destroyer and clutched his back in pain, allowing Destroyer to tag in Harbinger. Harbinger was all over Inferno, taking him down to the canvas with a Russian legsweep and dropping a running elbow across the throat before dragging him over to the corner and tagging Destroyer back in. Destroyer slowly re-entered, almost stalking his prey, and lifted Inferno up only to drive him down with a punishing backbreaker. Harbinger then rushed back in and joined Destroyer in a double team on Inferno, with both men stomping away violently on their fallen foe. This brought Bootlegger into the ring, who nailed Harbinger with a forearm to the back of the head before scooping him up in a bodyslam position. Bootlegger, though, was not content with a simple slam. With Harbinger in his grasp he climbed up to the second turnbuckle and delivered a fallaway slam, sending Harbinger halfway across the ring. When Bootlegger got up, though, he found himself standing face to face with Destroyer. The big man grabbed the Italian and delivered another backbreaker before bouncing off the ropes and delivering a big splash that nearly flattened The Bootlegger. Destroyer stayed down and hooked the leg for the 1…2…Inferno broke up the count with a big boot to the back of Destroyer’s head. He pulled Destroyer up to his feet, and the two men traded punches back and forth until a clothesline from Destroyer sent both men over the top rope to the floor. Bootlegger rolled onto his stomach and appeared to be searching for something inside his armor. Harbinger walked over and grabbed Bootlegger by his greasy hair, pulling him back to his feet, only to be cut off by Bootlegger and a taser being jabbed into his midsection. Harbinger’s body spasmed to the canvas and Bootlegger quickly made the cover for the 1…2…3. The Instruments of Destruction advanced to the finals of the tag team championship tournament with an upset over Harbinger and The Destroyer. Bootlegger’s hand was raised in the middle of the ring, and Destroyer and Inferno continued to battle on the outside as the screen fades to black.
