MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament – Round Robin Match
HARBINGER & THE DESTROYER vs. INTOXICATED
Given that The Destroyer had a first blood match on the broadcast to prepare for, the Cult duo was looking to make quick work of Intoxicated, who were wearing black pants and had the letters “APA” painted in black on their chests. As soon as Harbinger and Destroyer reached the ring, Harbinger rolled in under the bottom rope and dove on Beumont, choking him and raking at Beumont’s eyes. Harbinger was all over the drunk, and Beumont quickly tapped out, unable to withstand the barrage. The Cult secured the victory, without Destroyer even having to get in the ring.

MMP Tag Team Championship Tournament – Round Robin Match
THE DOMINION OF DOOM vs. THE BOOTLEGGER & “STUNNING” STEVE SIMON
The Dominion of Doom took over early, isolating Simon in their corner with Daark and Death each taking turns getting shots in. Death opened the match with an inverted atomic drop on Simon and then dropped a knee across the throat before tagging in his partner, the MMP world champion. Simon slowly pulled himself up as Daark stepped through the ropes. He offered a weak kick to Simon’s midsection that was easily caught, but then swung around and delivered a punishing insigury kick to the back of the head that knocked Simon back to the canvas. Another tag brought Death back into the ring, but rather than going out to the apron Daark rushed over and nailed Bootlegger with a forearm, sending the number-one contender to the world title off the apron to the floor. Daark followed his Invasion opponent out, and the two traded punches back and forth on the floor. In the ring, Death was waiting for Simon to stumble back to his feet, and when he did Death hooked him from behind and delivered the Death Drop. He shot over and covered Simon for the 1…2…3.
Hardcore Saturday Night is on the air! The Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio is sold out with nearly 20, 000 fans packing the building from top to bottom for tonight’s huge card. Commentators Jerry Wood and Ray Brewer are at ringside.
Wood: Welcome, everyone, to Hardcore Saturday Night! I’m Jerry Wood alongside Ray Brewer, and folks I’m not lying when I tell ya we have an outstanding card lined up for you here live from Dayton, Ohio. Three championships will be decided, and in our main event we get a sneak peak of what could be in store at MMP Invasion as MMP world champion Daark and the number-one contender, The Bootlegger, will meet in the ring for the first time in several months here tonight, less than two weeks before their huge title match in Munich. Fans here in the arena saw The Dominion of Doom battle Bootlegger and Steve Simon in a tag team tournament match, but Bootlegger and Daark never got it on inside the squared circle. They will tonight when Bootlegger teams win Inferno to battle Daark and Death in an elimination match in our main event.
Brewer: And like you said, Wood, we have three championship matches on tap as well here tonight. For weeks now we’ve heard the war of words going back and forth between Virus Richards and The Cult Master, and now that Virus has apparently taken to trying to get Cult Master’s followers to join other religions it doesn’t look like this feud is slowing down in the least. Tonight they do battle with Virus’ extreme title on the line in a falls count anywhere match, and with Cult Master’s victory over Virus only a week ago, I’d say that title could be in serious jeopardy here in Dayton.
Wood: The universal title will also be at stake tonight as The Regulator, the possessor of the title belt, challenges the rightful champion Hassan Abu Saada as the MMP pays tribute to the late Bobby Stone with a Pot Head Rules Match, the match Stone made famous during his days in the MMP. It’ll be a falls count anywhere ironman match, with the winner walking out with not only the universal championship belt, but also the right to call themselves the champion. If you like hardcore action, you’ll love our show tonight, and we kick it off with two men looking to work their way into championship contention. It’s Hyoga against “Amazing” Andrew Peters in our opening bout here from Dayton!
”AMAZING” ANDREW PETERS vs. HYOGA
Peters made his way to the ring accompanied by the lovely Amanda as “Thunder Kiss ‘65” blared over the loudspeaker. His introduction was cut short, though, as Hyoga hopped over the guardrail along the runway behind Peters, and hit him across the back with a mini freezer! Amanda let out a shriek and hurried down towards the ring as Peters fell flat on his face to the concrete floor. Hyoga took a couple of steps towards the valet, sending her running even faster down the aisle, before grabbing Peters by the hair and dragging him down to the ring. He ran Peters face first into the steel ring post and delivered a DDT that drove Peters head first into the side of the steps before finally acknowledging the referee’s insistence that Hyoga get the match in the ring. Peters tried to crawl away from Hyoga and went over to his corner, but Hyoga was right on his tail and didn’t even give Peters a chance to catch a breath. He set the mini freezer down in the corner and quickly pulled Peters up and stood him against the buckle, nailing him with a pair of European uppercuts and a series of knife-edge chops to the chest. Peters was desperate, and knowing that it could be his only chance, dropped to his knees and delivered a quick uppercut to Hyoga’s groin, dropping the Switzerland-born superstar to the canvas. Peters collapsed in the buckle, breathing heavily while Hyoga slowly started to pull himself up. Once Hyoga was back at a vertical base Peters slid over and hooked him with an armdrag, sending Hyoga through the ropes and out to the floor. Peters followed, grabbing Hyoga and slamming him head first into the post as Hyoga had done to him earlier in the evening. Hyoga fell to the floor, still feeling the effects from the low blow, and Peters backed away, using this opportunity to recuperate against the safety rail. Amanda came over to check on her man, but while Peters’ attention was focused on his valet, Hyoga had gotten back to his feet. He charged Peters, but at the last moment Amanda stepped out of the way and Peters lowered his shoulder, backdropping Hyoga into the first row of spectators. MMP security quickly came running in to make sure none of the fans got involved, but that didn’t stop Peters from snatching a cup of subpar American beer from a heavyset man and slamming it into the side of Hyoga’s skull. After whipping Hyoga back against the safety rail, Peters clotheslined the man over back to the ringside area where he started pulling back some of the mats set up around the ring, exposing the concrete below. He pulled Hyoga over and set him up for a piledriver, jumping down with extra velocity and driving Hyoga’s head and neck that much harder into the floor. Hyoga was knocked senseless, and the expression on Peters’ face said that he knew he was closing in on a victory. He shoved Hyoga back in under the bottom rope and called Amanda over, asking to make sure that she was uninjured during the earlier exchange. She said she was fine, and Peters got back in the ring, but by the time he did Hyoga was waiting for him. He had since gone over to his mini freezer and pulled out a frozen shirt, and was whipping Peters with it across the back. Hyoga tossed the shirt into the crowd while Amanda checked on Peters, who was clutching his back and leaning over the bottom rope. She handed Peters a chair, but before he could use it, Hyoga snatched the chair away and nailed Peters across the back with it. He set the chair up in the middle of the ring and put Peters up on the top rope. Hyoga slapped his hand around Peters’ throat and went for a chokeslam, but Peters kicked Hyoga off and jumped down to the canvas. He whipped Hyoga off the ropes and caught him with a drop toehold that dropped Hyoga face first across the chair before slapping on the Antagonizer! Hyoga resisted for a moment, but with the ropes so far out of reach he eventually had to tap out, giving Peters the victory by submission.
Wood: A big win for Andrew Peters, his first since making his return to the MMP a few weeks ago. As for Hyoga, his first match back is unsuccessful, so his hopes to get into the title hunt would seem to have been put on hold for one week at least.
Brewer: Hey, if Peters is going to go around calling himself the real universal champion, he’s gonna have to start putting some victories together. When you consider his time away, it had been nearly four months since Peters had won a match around here. He’s got Izz Amazing to worry about coming up at Invasion, so if he can get a streak going, maybe he can look towards a shot at the title he claims already should belong to him.
The shot quickly shifted to the backstage area, where a cameraman was being dragged down the hallway by Virus Richards. They stopped just outside the dressing room of The Regulator.
Virus: Gee Onyx, I was really touched by your apology. So touched in fact that I wanted to come by here tonight and show you that there aren’t any hard feelings. Come on out, Onyx.
Virus knocked on the door, and as soon as the door opened, Virus nailed Regulator with an elbow to the jaw. Taped to Virus’ elbow was a large red brick, and Reg fell hard to the floor. The extreme champ then reached down and shook Regulator’s hand.
Virus: Apology accepted, Onyx, and I would also like to apologize for the fact that you can’t take an elbow…and all the rest of that ra-ra sh*t as well. Good luck tonight, old buddy.
Wood: I guess Virus Richards still isn’t taking too kindly to Regulator’s misplaced elbow that cost him the match against The Cult Master last weekend. I wonder if this will impact Regulator’s attempt to win the universal title from Hassan Abu Saada tonight. Luckily for Regulator he’s still going to have some time to recover, as it’s time now for our first blood match. The TV title is on the line as Tao Te Ching faces his toughest challenge to date against the seven-foot, five hundred pound monster known as The Destroyer.
MMP Television Championship
First Blood Match
TAO TE CHING (C) vs. THE DESTROYER
Tao came to the ring first, accompanied by his tag team partner The Dragonfly and waving a Tibetan flag. As soon as Destroyer and Harbinger appeared in the entrance way Tao was out of the ring and making his way up the aisle, where the match got underway. Dragonfly attacked Harbinger to draw the man away from the action, and Tao nailed Destroyer in the midsection with his flagpole. The champion seemed unintimidated by Destroyer’s size advantage, and took the fight right to the man. The two battled back towards the dressing room, but Destroyer quickly took the advantage when an elbow smash to the face knocked Tao to the floor. He then pulled Tao up and delivered a piledriver right there at the stage entrance, driving Tao head first into the steel grate. Destroyer started walking towards the ring, moving slowly to conserve his energy. Tao started to stir and stumbled back to his feet as he headed down the aisle. He started picking up speed and reached Destroyer just before the big man could get in the ring, nailing Destroyer with a spear in the back. The big man fell to one knee, but the force behind such a move from a man the size of Tao wasn’t enough to do serious damage to a man as large as Destroyer. Tao started looking around the ring for a way to even the odds, and found one when he pulled a fire extinguisher out from under the ring. He sprayed Destroyer in the face, and then slammed the metal canister against the side of Destroyer’s skull, finally putting the big man flat on his back on the arena floor. Tao then grabbed Destroyer and tried to shove him into the ring, but it took a great deal of strength for the champion to do so, and it gave Destroyer a chance to regroup. The champ climbed quickly to the top rope and came off with a missile dropkick, but Destroyer stepped out of the way and caught Tao in midair, driving him down across the big man’s knee with a backbreaker. Tao was in trouble, and Destroyer knew it. The challenger walked over and pulled the covering off one of the turnbuckles in the corner, exposing the steel buckle below. He grabbed Tao by the hair and pulled him over, slamming Tao face first into the steel and watching with pride as Tao flew backwards to the canvas. From there Destroyer pulled a pair of brass knucks out of his tights and began pounding on Tao, who by this time was starting to lose consciousness. A Cult minion then emerged from the dressing room, carrying a board covered in barbed wire. He passed it in to Destroyer, who was starting to become frustrated from his inability to draw blood from his opponent. The minion shoved the board into the ring and Destroyer pulled Tao up, delivering an inverted chokeslam onto the barbed wire. Tao slowly rolled off, and his forehead was ripped open and dripping with blood. The referee quickly stepped in between Tao and Destroyer, waving for the bell. Destroyer had won the match, and captured the TV title.
Wood: The Destroyer is your new MMP TV champion, and if I may say so, I don’t think the result was ever in doubt from the start of the match. Destroyer is more than twice the size of Tao Te Ching, and Tao looked severely overmatched right from the opening bell.
Brewer: I’m not sure that The Destroyer was exactly what Tao was looking for when he put out that open challenge for the match tonight. Destroyer probably has more experience in this hardcore nonsense than anyone else in the MMP, so when you add that to the fact that Tao looked like a mosquito in comparison to the big guy, well, it wasn’t looking good for the champion.
Wood: So we have seen one title change already tonight, and with The Cult Master set to challenge Virus Richards for the extreme title later on tonight, this could turn out to be a very big night indeed for The Cult. Before we get to that, though, we prepare for the Pot Head Rules Match, a tribute to the memory of the late Bobby Stone who as you know wrestled in the MMP as Pot Head, Twisted Soul, and of course by his real name before passing away in 1999. The universal title will be on the line between the champion, Hassan Abu Saada, and The Regulator, the man who holds the belt and the man who was assaulted by Virus Richards and a loaded elbow only a few minutes ago. Let’s go back to the ring!
MMP Universal Championship
Pot Head Rules Match
HASSAN ABU SAADA (C) vs. THE REGULATOR
The challenger came to the ring first, wearing his plastic elbowpad on his arm and the universal championship around his waist. He was also wearing a pair of baseball cleats, a tribute to Pot Head, who used to wear such footwear during all of his hardcore matches. Regulator didn’t get very far down the runway before Hassan came out looking for an early advantage, wielding his golden scepter. Regulator was a step ahead of him, though, as before Hassan could get a shot in with the scepter Reg turned to face the champion, ducking under the scepter blow and using a drop toehold to drop Hassan head long into the base of the safety rail. After flipping Hassan the middle finger Reg grabbed the Egyptian and pulled him down to the ring, rolling him in under the bottom rope. Reg dropped a loaded elbow across the throat before stepping out to the apron, waiting for Hassan to get to his feet. When the champion got up Reg went for a springboard maneuver, but the rubber spikes on his cleats got caught on the top rope, causing Reg to fall awkwardly to the canvas, wrenching his knee in the process. The challenger grabbed his leg in obvious pain, but all that did was emphasize for Hassan where the injury was. Hassan quickly took advantage, pulling Reg up and suplexing him over before making the cover for a three count. The rest interval began, but Hassan didn’t want to wait for the time to expire. He grabbed Reg and tossed him through the ropes to the floor, where the challenger tried to shake the effects of the knee injury before the minute ran out. The Bootlegger and Inferno made their way down to the ring, presumably to watch Regulator’s back, but that didn’t stop Hassan from taking the fight to the challenger on the floor. He slammed Reg into the steel safety rail and raked the man’s face before tossing the man aside and proclaiming his greatness before Bootlegger and Inferno. The two Cartel members just laughed him off, as they were able to see Regulator coming up on Hassan from behind with a steel chair. Before Hassan could turn around Reg nailed him right in the shoulderblade with the chair, and then slammed it against the side of the champion’s arm. A dropkick to the arm sent Hassan stumbling back against the ring clutching his arm in obvious agony, allowing Reg to easily shove the big man in under the bottom rope. Hassan pulled himself up but was definitely favoring the arm. Reg slid into the ring, and was immediately met by stomps to the back from the champion. The challenger fought his way up with the aid of the ropes, but Hassan continued to pound on him before hooking in a cobra clutch. The weakened arm, though, couldn’t hold. Reg was able to wrestle his way free from the sleeperhold, and quickly pulled Hassan down to the mat with an armbar submission hold. Hassan decided to try and save himself for the next fall, and quickly tapped out to the hold to avoid further damage being done. Just as suddenly as Hassan had scored the first fall, Regulator had evened the score. When the bell sounded to end the rest period the two men started trading punches back and forth, and the action soon spilled out to the floor. Bootlegger and Inferno backed out of the way as the action continued up the aisle, towards the top of the ramp at the entrance way. While this was going on a woman in the crowd reached over the safety rail and tapped Bootlegger on the shoulder, causing both Boot and Inferno to turn their attention from Regulator’s match to her. With Reg’s backup distracted, Death made his way out from the dressing room, wearing a set of brass knuckles on his right hand. He walked up behind Regulator and reared back for a right hand, but Reg ducked at the last second and the punch landed square on Hassan’s jaw. Inferno eventually spotted Death and ran up the aisle to chase him away, and Regulator took full advantage of the accidental assistance. He hooked Hassan by the head and ran the champion off the edge of the stage with the Edge bulldog, landing both men on top of some production equipment several feet below. The ref looked over and climbed down to where the two men landed, and seeing that Regulator was positioned on top of Hassan he counted the 1…2…3 to give Regulator a 2-1 lead in falls. Before the bell sounded to restart the match, though, the arena buzzer souned to indicate that the match time had fully elapsed. The official signaled that the match was over, and declared The Regulator the new universal champion.
Wood: We’re 2 for 2 tonight, Ray. Two championship matches already here in Dayton, and two new champions have been crowned. The Regulator is the new MMP universal champion and will now go on to defend the belt against Death coming up at MMP Invasion. Hassan Abu Saada is not going to be happy with the way things have gone down here tonight.
Brewer: No, I should think not. First Tao Te Ching lost the TV title, and now the high and mighty Egyptian himself has lost his championship belt, leaving Hot Crimson as the only member of The Organziation that still holds any gold here in the MMP. It will be interesting to see how Hassan explains this loss against a man only half his size.
Wood: And this can not bode well for Virus Richards, the third and final champion to put his belt up for grabs here tonight in Dayton, who is getting set for his return match against The Cult Master. It will be a falls count anywhere affair, and of course Virus’ MMP extreme championship will be at stake. Let’s go to the ring for our final title match of the evening.
MMP Extreme Championship
Falls Count Anywhere Match
VIRUS RICHARDS (C) vs. THE CULT MASTER
The champion was introduced first, accompanied by fellow Cartel members The Bootlegger and Inferno for his big title defense. The Cult Master’s music then played and the challenger emerged from the back, with Harbinger and new MMP television champion The Destroyer at his side. Cult Master ordered the two members of the prominent Cult tag team to stand aside, and challenged Virus to get out of the ring and meet him in the aisle. Virus looked back and forth at Bootlegger and Inferno, cracked his knuckles, and accepted the challenge, heading quickly up the aisle to meet his opponent. Bootlegger and Inferno waited near the ring, leaving Virus’ back exposed and allowing Wolverine to come running in from the crowd. He hopped over the safety rail and nailed Virus across the back with a fire extinguisher, knocking the champion down hard to the concrete floor. Bootlegger and Inferno hurried up the ramp, but by the time they got there Wolverine had escaped through the other side and was headed out of the building. Harbinger and Destroyer stepped up quickly to make sure that neither man tried to help Virus against Cult Master, who had since made his way over to where Virus lay and was attacking the champion. He pulled Virus up and slammed him into the steel safety rail before turning and leading Virus towards the backstage area. Bootlegger, Inferno, Harbinger, and Destroyer all kept a very close eye on one another as the match continued towards the back, where Cult Master slammed Virus into the concrete wall as they entered the lobby of the arena. Cult Master went for an Irish whip that would have sent Virus into a door, but the champ reversed it and it was Cult Master who flew head first into the wooden door. Virus then propped the door open and grabbed Cult Master’s arm, pulling Cult Master hard forward and jamming the front of the man’s shoulder right into the door frame. He then grabbed the door and slammed it shut, crushing Cult Master’s forearm in the process. The four outside men kept their distance from action as the match continued, with the two sides keeping one another looking over their shoulder for a possible attack from the other. With Bootlegger and Inferno keeping Harbinger and Destroyer distracted, though, it gave “Stunning” Steve Simon a perfect opportunity to get a sneak attack in on his Invasion opponent! Simon came running down the hall and nailed Destroyer in the back with a pipe, and then delivered a reverse neckbreaker while Bootlegger and Inferno hammered on Harbinger. While the assault on the Cult members was going on Virus dragged Cult Master down the hall to where the arena zamboni was stored, whipping the challenger hard into the front grate of the ice cleaning machine. Virus then grabbed a snow shovel and wound up to nail Cult Master with it, but he was stopped by a boot to the midsection, causing him to drop the shovel and stagger away. Cult Master grabbed the shovel and hit Virus over the head with it, dropping the extreme champ to the floor. The challenger didn’t stop there, pulling Virus up and dragging him down towards the washroom. The two battled inside, where Cult Master whipped Virus into a stall and held his face down near the toilet bowl, telling the champ that this is where he belongs. Cult Master then took the action back out into the hall, but before he got very far Virus raked the challenger’s face and whipped him into a storage room, where the building stored various pieces of equipment. While Cult Master was down Virus grabbed a piece of plexiglass that was used for when the arena serves as a hockey rink and balanced it loosely across two tables. He turned back to Cult Master, but the challenger was already on his feet and delivered a hard boot to the midsection. Cult Master went for a suplex that was blocked by Virus, who then delivered a blatant low blow that doubled Cult Master over. While the challenger was dazed, Virus hooked Cult Master in a crucifix, rolling him down such that Cult Master’s head hit the edge of the plexiglass, knocking it to the floor and shattering it below Cult Master’s head as the challenger went down. Virus held the move as the ref counted the three with Cult Master’s head on a pile of broken glass.
Wood: Virus Richards survives with his extreme title reign intact, albeit just barely, with a victory over The Cult Master here tonight. If you ask me, The Cartel is very, very lucky to have escaped that match with the title still in their possession, but before they can get too involved in celebrations, they’ve got another head-on clash with The Cult still to come here tonight. It’s time for our main event, the elimination match between The Dominion of Doom, victorious earlier tonight in a tag team tournament match over Bootlegger and Steve Simon, against the team of The Bootlegger and Inferno, who I understand will be known as Instruments of Destruction. No titles on the line, just the pride of four men who can’t stand one another. You can hear the music playing, so let’s go back to the ring for the main event!
Elimination Match
THE DOMINION OF DOOM vs. INSTRUMENTS OF DESTRUCTION
The ASSociates stepped out from the back as “Paint it Black” blared over the loudspeaker. They turned back and bowed as The Bootlegger, decked out in full riot gear, came out from the dressing room. Fireworks then went off in the form of a phoenix as Inferno came out, carrying a bent pipe in his right hand. The Dominion of Doom’s music then played, but it was only Death that came down to the ring. His partner, Daark, was nowhere to be found. Death didn’t seem bothered by the fact that he was left to go it alone, and stepped confidently into the ring, not backing down in the least from his opponents. Bootlegger and Inferno, in an attempt to decide who would start the match, played rock/paper/scissors in their corner, but after coming to three straight stalemates they just shrugged their shoulders and simultaneously charged Death with a double clothesline. Death ducked underneath and caught Inferno on the rebound with a high knee, but his momentum was short lived as Bootlegger drilled him with a right hand loaded with brass knuckles. Death went down hard, and while Inferno stepped out to the apron, Bootlegger went to work on his lone opponent. He pulled Death up off the canvas and whipped him off the ropes, catching him on the rebound with a fallaway slam that sent Death all the way out to the floor. As Death hit the concrete, The Regulator, dressed in his usual ring attire, wearing his customary battle mask, and carrying the universal championship belt in hand made his way down to the ring. He walked over and grabbed Death, rolled him into the ring, and then got into the ring himself. Bootlegger and Inferno exchanged confused glances but went along with it, as the numbers were now three to one in their favor. Bootlegger and Regulator started stomping on Death, and then called Inferno into the ring as they set Death up for a spike piledriver. Inferno went to the top rope as Bootlegger positioned Death in the ring. Regulator stepped out to the apron, but before Inferno could jump off Regulator reached up and nailed Inferno in the back of the head with the universal title belt! Bootlegger was shocked, and Death took the man down and slingshot him into the corner. Regulator then pulled off his battle mask, revealing that it was in fact Daark underneath the mask! Daark entered the ring and waited for Bootlegger to get back to his feet, only to deliver a spinning heel kick that sent Bootlegger through the ropes and all the way out to the floor. The world champion followed Bootlegger out, leaving Death standing in the corner to recover. While Death was watching the action on the floor, though, Inferno grabbed his pipe and slid back into the ring behind his opponent. He slowly walked up and nailed Death across the back with the pipe, and quickly spun him around and delivered the All Nighter! Daark was preoccupied with Bootlegger on the outside and never saw Inferno making the cover for the three count that eliminated Death from the match. An extra referee came out from the dressing room and escorted Death away, leaving Daark alone against both members of Instruments of Destruction. Inferno joined in the action on the floor, jumping off the apron and nailing Daark across the back with his pipe before rolling the world champ back into the ring. The Bootlegger and Inferno were determined to take Daark apart prior to his title defense against Bootlegger at Invasion, and with no one out there to help Daark, it looked like they would be able to accomplish their task. Daark, though, wasn’t ready to go down yet. He ducked an Inferno clothesline attempt and caught Bootlegger with a thumb to the eyes, and then slowed Inferno down with a chop block to the back of the legs. A dropkick put Inferno down, but when Daark turned back to face Bootlegger he was grabbed around the throat by the Italian, who delivered a big chokeslam that took all the momentum away from the world champ. Bootlegger helped Inferno to his feet, and the two men grabbed Daark and delivered a dual powerbomb! Both men then made the cover on Daark for the 1…2….3 to win the match. Bootlegger and Inferno stood with their hands raised over Daark’s beaten body as the screen fades to black.
