THE CULT MASTER vs. HASSAN ABU
SAADA
With Hassan waiting in the ring, The Cult Master made his way down
in his usual format, with a long procession that nearly put Hassan to sleep while he waited.
Cult Master was accompanied by Harbinger and The Destroyer, as well as a large group
of his loyal followers. As soon as he entered the ring, though, Hassan was all over him,
peppering Cult with punches and European uppercuts before driving him into the canvas
with a DDT. With his opponent down Hassan reached under the ring, pulling out a long
string of Christmas lights. He stretched out the ornaments and wrapped them around
Cult's neck, pulling back ferociously, sucking the wind out of The Cult Master. After a
few moments he released and set the lights on Cult Master's face. When it looked like
Cult was ready to be polished off Hassan bounced off the ropes with a big kneedrop, but
Cult rolled out of the way, causing Hassan's knee to smash through the lights, sending
small shards of glass penetrating through the skin. Before Hassan could regroup Cult was
all over him, dropkicking the injured leg and taking the big man down with a leg whip
before applying a half crab to isolate the knee. Hassan was screaming in agony and looked
like he might be ready to give it up when suddenly one of the Cult minions hopped up on
the ring apron and started shouting at Cult Master, waving Hassan's scepter in his hand.
Cult broke the hold and confronted his follower, who tossed aside his Cult attire to reveal
The Dragonfly underneath! He tossed the scepter in towards Hassan, but Cult Master
intercepted it and smashed it over Dragonfly's head, sending him off the apron into the
safety rail on the outside. The real Cult followers quickly swarmed around Dragonfly at
Cult Master's direction, but in the meantime Hassan struggled back to his feet and
approached him from behind, applying a cobra clutch. He kept the hold applied for
several moments, but in the meantime the referee was down on the floor trying to protect
Dragonfly from the onslaught by The Cult, forcing Hassan to break the hold and go to the
floor himself to bring the official back in. While this was going on, Cult Master crawled
over to the other side of the ring and, while he was catching his breath and shaking the
cobwebs loose, reached out to Harbinger for one of his weapons...a bottle of diluted acid.
Hassan grabbed the ref by the collar and tossed him back in the ring, but as soon as
Hassan followed he was sprayed in the face by Cult Master and his bottle. The Egyptian
grabbed his face in excruciating pain, and while he was blinded Cult Master grabbed a
chair from the outside. After flooring Hassan with a chair shot, Cult Master made the
cover and scored the three count. He made his way to the back amidst his faithful
followers while a pair of EMTs rushed out to check on Hassan's vision.
The camera backstage picks up a shot of Masochrist walking into the arena. As he
approached the rear entrance, Super Cupid ran up from behind and nailed him in the back
of the head with a crowbar! He then pulled Maso up and delivered a DDT on the cement,
followed by a second, and then tossed him through the glass door. Cupid then stepped
over Masochrist, who lay bloodied in a pile of broken glass, on his way into the
building.
MMP Hardcore Saturday Night is on the air! The Skyreach Center in Edmonton, Alberta
is sold out with nearly 20, 000 fans in attendance for tonight's huge event! Commentators
Jerry Wood and Ray Brewer are at ringside.
Wood: Welcome, everyone, to the final MMP Hardcore Saturday
Night of the millenium! I'm Jerry Wood alongside...I can't believe I have to say
this...alongside the new MMP midwestern champion Ray Brewer...
Brewer: Oh shut up, Wood. You're just angry because you didn't think of it first. I'm sick
and tired of The Family's nonsense and Psychotic Sam's idiotic rantings about being the
Kign of Spain. It's not my fault that I finally managed to exploit those buffoons. Good
luck on the 7th, Sam...*laughing*...you know you have my support.
Wood: Ray's gloating aside, we have seven outstanding matches lined up for you tonight,
the biggest Saturday Night card we've had in quite some time. Three titles will be decided
here in Edmonton, including the huge main event where the reigning television champion
and the winner of the Hall of Fame tournament, Masked Menace X, gets his first shot at
the MMP world title when he faces Captain Patrick O'Conner, no disqualification, one fall
for the biggest prize in wrestling today.
Brewer: And have a look above the ring, you'll see the giant cell just waiting to be
lowered. Tonight, however, it won't just be a cell match, it'll be a FLAMING cell match
when Daark looks to avenge his first round loss in the Hall of Fame tournament as he puts
the universal title on the line against Aries. I don't know what Daark is thinking. Aries is
not a guy I'd want to be stuck with inside a cage of fire. He's already crippled one man
over the past couple of weeks. Tonight could be number two.
Wood: And we'll have the first ever circus tent match when The Joker's Child puts the
extreme title on the line against Christian Antimarius. It's a circular cage with a roof on it.
There are holes in the roof just big enough for a man to escape, and weapons will hang
from the walls and ceiling. Super Cupid battles Masochrist in a scaffold match, and I'm
hearing that the loser may have to leave the MMP for good. We open things up tonight
with a one on one contest between two men who have developped quite a rivalry over the
past couple of weeks. Hyoga, who will look to take the TV title at Season's Slayings,
battles former champion Wolverine in our opening bout here from Edmonton!
WOLVERINE vs. HYOGA
Wolverine made his way to the ring first but Hyoga, realizing the
importance of the match as both headed into the midwestern title tournament at Season's
Slayings, came running out before the match and nailed Wolverine across the back with a
2x4 in the runway! The crowd booed loudly as Wolverine went down. After tossing the
board away Hyoga pulled Wolverine up and whipped him into the safety rail before
dragging him down to the ring. Hyoga then tore the top half of the steel steps off and
stepped on top of them, setting Wolverine up for a piledriver. Wolverine managed to
block it, though, and sent Hyoga head over heels, backdropping him onto the arena floor.
He then slammed Hyoga head first into the ring post before sending him into the ring. The
ref called for the bell, and the match was underway. After driving Hyoga into the corner
Wolverine laid into his opponent with a series of knees to the midsection. He then
grabbed Hyoga around the throat and tossed him out towards the center of the ring.
Hyoga stumbled back to his feet and went after Wolverine, but was caught with a boot to
the face for his trouble. Wolverine dropped an elbow across the sternum and made the
cover, but Hyoga kicked out after only two. He pulled Hyoga back up once again, but
Hyoga caught Wolverine with a rake of the face and a boot to the midsection, followed by
a pair of European uppercuts that backed Wolverine into the ropes. Hyoga whipped him
off the far side, catching him coming back with a boot to the face of his own. With
Wolverine down, Hyoga took his attack to the air. He climbed up to the top rope and,
after pausing for a second to get his balance, dove off with a flying legdrop. Wolverine
rolled out of the way, sending Hyoga crashing to the canvas, landing squarely on his hip.
The "Michigan Outlaw" was quick to capitalize, dropping a leg of his own before locking
Hyoga in a dragon sleeper. Wrenching back on Hyoga's neck, Wolverine shouted at the
referee to check for a submission. The official got down and asked Hyoga if he wanted to
quit, but Hyoga fought back, struggling to reach the ropes. He finally shot his right leg
out and pressed his foot against the bottom rope, causing the referee to intervene and
break the hold. Wolverine shot back to his feet and got right in the ref's face, screaming at
him to stay out of the way. The ref argued that he could disqualify Wolverine, who
countered by reminding the ref that it was a no disqualification match. Hyoga pulled
himself up with the aid of the ropes, but Wolverine immediately dropped him with a
double leg takedown and went to slingshot him into the turnbuckle, but Hyoga countered,
hooking Wolverine's head on the way over and driving him into the canvas with a DDT.
Both men were down, and the official began his count. At six, Wolverine started to stir.
He slowly got back to his feet, with Hyoga doing the same on the other side of the ring.
Wolverine charged in with a clothesline, but Hyoga ducked and locked on a sleeper hold.
He didn't keep it on for long, as Wolverine quickly rammed Hyoga back into the
turnbuckle, causing the hold to be broken. Wolverine picked Hyoga up from behind for
the Awakening, but Hyoga raked Wolverine's eyes on the way up to set himself free. He
then delivered a boot to the midsection and hooked Wolverine in the X-Plex for the three
count!
Wood: Hyoga has upset Wolverine here in Edmonton! This is
arguably the biggest win in Hyoga's career so far, knocking off a multiple time champion
like Wolverine.
Brewer: Well ya know, Wood, Wolverine hasn't been around much since losing the TV
belt to Masked Menace X back at Best of the Best. He hasn't been appearing on arena
cards, and hasn't been making many personal appearances. I don't really know where
Bobby stands. To be honest, I don't care. You know I've never really cared much for
Wolverine. It's nice to see that after more than a year in the MMP he's still wrestling
opening matches.
Wood: Now that's uncalled for, Ray. Bobby Stuart, Wolverine, has accomplished a great
deal in the MMP over the past fourteen months. The word I get is that he has just been
putting a lot of time into preparation for the midwestern championship tournament coming
up at Slayings. I think he may have just overlooked Hyoga tonight, although with his
recent string of wins, the days of people overlooking the man from Switzerland may be
coming to an end. Any comments on our next match, Ray?
Brewer: ...
Wood: We have tag team action coming up next. Tao Te Ching and his new tag team
partner The Dragonfly will debut as a team here tonight, officially bringing The Order to
the MMP. Whether they will be succesful as a team will likely still remain a mystery after
tonight, though, as their opposition will be members of the CWO. Despite the somewhat
unaccomplished competition tonight, though, you would have to think that this is a must-
win match for The Order if they hope to secure a tag title shot. Losing to Intoxicated
could really set them back in the improving tag team division.
THE ORDER vs. INTOXICATED
With The Order already in the ring, the CWO made their way down.
Introducing themselves as hailing from Dudleyville, Cup and Beumont came to the ring in
tie-dye shirts and wearing glasses with no lenses in them. Hobo Richard was carrying a
bunch of signs and China Town Lee was wearing a purple blazer and a neck brace. They
got in the ring, and both Beumont and Cup had microphones.
Cup- We ARE INTOXICATED.
Beumont- AND YOU BOYS SUC,C, C, C,
Cup slapped Beumont in the back of the head, but Beumont fell down unconscious. The
Dragonfly didn't waste any time, nailing Cup with a superkick and covering Beumont for
the three count. Just then Psychotic Sam and The Saint came down to the ring and
attacked The Order. Saint hammered Dragonlfy and tossed him over the top rope while
Sam nailed Tao in the head with the MMP world title belt. He covered Tao and Saint
counted the 1...2...3 as Mike the Giant Retard came down to the ring with a sign that read
"Chicken Chow Mein Victim #11". Saint then grabbed the microphone that Beumont had
been using earlier.
Saint- TAO IF YOU HAVE NOT GEUSSED YOU ARE KICKED OUT OF THE
FAMILY. YOU HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT A DISAPOINTMENT TO US AND
GOD. WE TOOK YOU IN AND GAVE YOU ALL WE HAD AND JUST LIKE THE
UNGREATFULL ANTIMARIUS YOU TREATED IT WITH ALOT OF GREED.
WELL YOUR GONE. AND YOU MADE AGREAT TITLE DEFENSE FOR THE
REAL MMP WORLD CHAMPION AND THE NEXT KING OF SPAIN. SAM
TEACH HIM MORE OF A LESSON.
Sam grabbed Tao and delivered the Psychotic Smash before the Family walked
out.
Wood: So The Order, as expected, picks up a win in their debut here
at Hardcore Saturday Night, but it looks like Tao Te Ching's affiliation with The Family
has come to a close.
Brewer: Hey, trust me, he's better off. What has The Family down for Tao? When he
joined them a couple of months ago, he was a fast rising star in the MMP. Now what is
he? He's lost faith in himself to the point where he's said he doesn't want to wrestle in
singles competition anymore! Oh yeah, joining The Family was a great move. I never
understood why Tao took that path, but thanks to Sam and The Saint, Tao now has a
chance to salvage his career.
Wood: I hate to agree with you, Ray, but Tao was more succesful before he joined up
with the group from Philadelphia. It will be interesting to see if he can get back on track
now that he's on his own with his new tag team. Before joining up with The Family, Tao
Te Ching was closely alligned with the mysterious Hot Crimson. The former midwestern
champion has a tough challenge on his hands tonight, in that he doesn't even know who
his opponent is going to be. We've heard the rumors floating around about who it might
be, but to this point no one knows for sure. I guess we're ready to find out, so let's go
back to the ring!
HOT CRIMSON vs. ???
The mystery surrounding Crimson's opponent didn't remain for long.
Shortly after the former midwestern champion had been introduced, the giant Inferno
made his way down the aisle, accompanied by universal champion Daark. Crimson didn't
look surprised though, and went right for the big man as he entered. Inferno, though, was
all business. He opened up quickly on Crimson, pounding him with punches and
headbutts before taking him down with a lariat. Crimson shot back up and charged in
again, but Inferno lowered his shoulder and sent Crimson over the top rope and down to
the floor. Inferno followed Crimson out to the floor, but by the time he got down
Crimson was back to his feet. The two men traded blows back and forth as they brawled
up the aisle back towards the entrance. Crimson got the upper hand and slammed Inferno
into the arena wall before dragging him through the curtain to the backstage area, but as
the two passed through Crimson was caught off guard by an attack from two
men...Harbinger and The Destroyer! Daark also ran back and got in on the action, making
it a 4-on-1 assault on Hot Crimson in the hallway backstage. The Cult, apparently exiling
Crimson from the group, continued to pound on their former ally, with Harbinger spitting
blood on him before slamming him into a dressing room door. The door shot open and
Crimson found himself at the feet of Hassan Abu Saada, who had large amounts of cash
out on a table to be counted. Hassan didn't take too kindly to being interrupted and he
shot to his feet, attacking the Cult members for disturbing him. With someone fighting
alongside him Crimson started to fend off the attack from his former stablemates, and the
brawl spilled back out into the corridor. Then, from around the corner, came more back
up for Crimson, this time in the form of The Order. With the sides evened up, the action
came back into the arena. As the brawl continued The Cult Master, who had been
victorious over Hassan before the show took the air, watched on from the giant television
screen, offering moral support to his followers. The outsiders soon became separated
from Crimson and Inferno, who battled back towards the ring. Crimson, though, was still
feeling the effects from the gang attack, and Inferno used that to his advantage. He raised
Crimson up in the air in a press slam, dropping him throat-first on the steel safety rail
before rolling him back into the ring. After sending Tao Te Ching over the rail and into
the crowd, Daark made his way back towards the ring as well. Inferno continued to
overpower Crimson with Daark offering encouragement from the outside. He whipped
Crimson off the ropes towards Daark, but as he did Tao re-emerged from the crowd.
Daark floored Tao with a right hand and reached in to trip Crimson, but he didn't see
Crimson reverse the whip. Daark instead pulled Inferno's leg out from under him, sending
the big man crashing face first to the mat. The momentary interruption gave Crimson a
chance to recuperate, and when Inferno got back up he was met with a boot to the gut and
a double arm DDT. Crimson made the cover for the 1...2...Daark reached in to break the
count, but Tao pulled him out...3!! Crimson quickly rolled out to the floor and escaped
through the crowd as Harbinger and Destroyer came towards the ring. While the former
tag team champions and the current universal champion assisted Inferno, Crimson and Tao
joined The Dragonfly and Hassan in the entrance way. Hassan produced a
microphone:
Hassan Abu Saada: If you can't tell already, we have formed somewhat of an alliance.
A force NOT to reckon with, a force to stay clear of or prepare for humiliating defeat.
This Organization is banded for the SOLE PURPOSE of removing all unwanted poor-
human specimens from the federation. First matter of business, let's get rid of that no-
good Congregation. And in the meantime, we plan to grab each and every title, including
the prestigious title of the commissioner! Prepare MMP, prepare for the force that you
fear has come. For we are here, and now is the time to join us.......or die.
Wood: I guess it's fair to say that Hot Crimson has been banished
from The Cult, but at the same time it doesn't look like he'd have it any other way. It also
appears that the MMP has a new force on it's hands with the formation of The
Organization here tonight. These guys certainly have the talent it takes to back up such
strong words.
Brewer: I don't know, Wood, they're making some pretty bold claims. Take over the title
of commissioner? Grant Lindsay has withstood some petty challenges to his integrity and
his ability to run this federation over his tenure, and I'd be very surprised if this new
quartet did anything to put his authority in jeopardy.
Wood: Save it, Ray. All the ass kissing in the world won't let you hold onto that
midwestern title past Season's Slayings. It's already official, you're being stripped of the
title on December 29. I, for one, can't wait for that moment to come. As you see the ring
crew errecting the scaffold above us here, you can see that it's time for Super Cupid and
Masochrist, meeting one on one for the first time ever here tonight in Edmonton, Alberta.
These two men have always been side by side. They held the tag team championship for
several months last year. During both of Masochrist's world title reigns, Super Cupid was
always right there with him. Tonight that's all in the past, and from the sounds of things,
the career of one of these men will be ended by a man once considered his closest ally. It's
the end of The Congregation as we know it here on Hardcore Saturday Night.
Scaffold Match
SUPER CUPID vs.
MASOCHRIST
Cupid came to the ring first, wearing a t-shirt that read "Who Wants to
be a Millionaire?" on the front with a picture of Cupid nailing Patrick O'Conner with the
Cupid's Arrow at Best of the Best. He demanded a mic as he stepped through the
ropes.
Cupid: Ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry to inform you that there will be no match
tonight between me and that over-rated Snake. I decided to end his career a little earlier
than planned. Right now ol' Maso is probaly already in the Edmonton city hospital. And
since we are in Canada he is probaly dead now from having to wait in line on all the
crackheads and junkies that live in this god-forsaken wasteland you call a country! There
are only two things that come out of Canada...
Maso's music cut Cupid off, leaving Cupid with a shocked expression on his face. He
dropped the mic and pulled a tire-iron out from under his shirt and looked down the aisle,
waiting on his opponent. On the other side of the ring Maso came in from the crowd,
covered in dried blood. He slowly climbed the scaffold and walked up behind Cupid. He
tapped Cupid on the shoulder, causing Cupid to come to a perfectly errect position,
bringing a look of terror to his face. He slowly turned around, and Maso grabbed him by
the throat. He picked Cupid up by the throat and held him out over the scaffold. Cupid
started begging Maso not to drop him, prompting Maso to swing Cupid around, as if he
was going to set him down. Instead he chokeslammed Cupid on the scaffolding, nearly
breaking the former midwestern champion in half. Maso started to pull Cupid up, but
Cupid shot up with a desperation low blow that slowed his former partner down. He then
nailed a quick DDT, driving Maso's injured neck down hard into the scaffold. Cupid then
grabbed the tire iron and waited for Maso to get back to his feet. When he did, Cupid
nailed him square in the face with it, knocking Maso clear out. With Maso down and out
Cupid waved to the back, screaming "NOW!" A bunch of doctors came down the aisle,
carrying a straight jacket. They quickly climbed the scaffolding and put Maso in the
jacket, securing the last straps as Maso started to come around. Maso tried to get at
Cupid, but Cupid flipped him off with one hand and sent a fireball into Maso's face with
the other. Maso fell to his knees screaming in pain, but wasn't able to cover up. With his
opponent helpless Cupid walked over towards him slowly, spit on him, and slapped him in
the face before grabbing him by the hair and tossing him off the scaffold, sending him
crashing through the Spanish announce table. Cupid looked down and started laughing as
he raised his hands in victory.
Wood: My God! Ray, are you alright?
Brewer: Of course I'm alright, Wood. I'm not the one who just fell twenty feet onto the
damn Spanish announce table.
Wood: I can't believe what we just saw. Super Cupid may have just ended Masochrist's
career even if they hadn't worked that stipulation into their contract. The EMTs are out
here now tending to Masochrist. This is a serious situation, folks. They are leaving
Masochrist in the straight jacket as they wheel him away to minimize the movement of his
neck. We'll try to have an update for you before we go off the air tonight. For now let's
send you to Steve Lewin.
STEVE LEWIN: Thanks, Jerry. I'm standing with the newest
luchador to enter the MMP, NACHO MAMA! NACHO tells why you chose to join the
MMP?
NACHO MAMA: Tu madre das bueno cabeza en la playa con carne...
LEWIN: I'm not sure I understand what you're saying but regardless of
that...
A song that suddenly begins playing over the PA system interrupts LEWIN's interview.
The ear piercing "Seven Words" by The Deftones begins to fill the arena! KORSO begins
his slow, purposeful walk down to the ring area.
LEWIN: That's JOHN KORSO's entrance music. Well, KORSO has apparently turned
over a new leaf and last week on Saturday Night Slams he promised that he'd come out
here and prove that he's reformed and that he's left his wickedness in the past. KORSO has
just stepped into the ring and he's got a microphone in hand. Let's go to the ring and see
what the former SYNDICATE member has to say…
KORSO pauses in the ring for a few moments as he looks over the audience. The
capacity crowd gives him a mixed reaction: mostly boos with a smattering of cheers.
KORSO clears his throat…
KORSO: I've been wrestling professionally for twelve long years… since I was
a twenty-year-old. And before I started in this business, I was a decorated
amateur wrestler. Wrestling is all that I've known… all that I've
cared about. I think it's the greatest form of entertainment in the world. I
now realize that for the past year I've been betraying the sport that I
love… and I've been betraying myself. I've gradually been losing
sight of what I've always stood for and believed in: TRADITION. I want to
get back to that. I want to get back to being the decent person I once was…
but before I can do that I need to make up for some of my horrible
transgressions. I've prepared a written apology… If you just bear with me…
KORSO pulls out what appears to be a thick manuscript, turns to the first page and begins
to read…
KORSO: Firstly, I'd like to apologize to WOLVERINE for flushing his head in
the urinal back at the first Hardcore Saturday Night. I'd like to apologize
to PERRY SANDERS for winning custody of his 11-year-old
son and "corrupting" him. If it makes you feel any better, PERRY, the ladies
in Tijuana really liked your son. I'd also like to apologize to RYNO
for smashing a 27-inch television over you head at the
February Hardcore Saturday Night. I'd like to apologize to GEORGE ACHICA
for…
The crowd begins to boo unmercifully. KORSO holds up the hefty manuscript
and indicates to the audience that he isn't nearly done…
KORSO: People… please. I have a long way to go…
Just then, we hear "Renegade" by Styx begin to play and outcomes the MMP
World Heavyweight Champion, CAPTAIN PATRICK O'CONNOR! O'CONNOR walks
deliberately to the ring with the championship belt slung over his shoulder O'CONNOR
climbs into the ring and circles KORSO like a shark. The audience is in a frenzy as the
popular champion snatches the microphone out of KORSO's hand.
O'CONNOR: I've had enough of your simpering JOHN. Why don't you save us all
some time and just get the hell out of the ring so the show can continue…
KORSO: I'm glad that you made it out here, PATRICK. Because, like I indicated last
week, I have a SPECIAL apology for you.
O'CONNOR: I'll humor you, JOHN, but get on with it. I have a match I have to prepare
for…
KORSO: I've acted most heinously against you, PATRICK, and I am truly
sorry. But like I said last week, I'm going to stop talking let my actions speak volumes.
PATRICK, I'd like to introduce you to YOUR WIFE: PAULINA
O'CONNOR
Enraged, O'CONNOR grabs KORSO by his shirt and lifts him off of the mat.
O'CONNOR: I warned you, John! I thought that even one so obtuse as
you would have taken Cupid's fate as fair warning.
KORSO: …but look! It IS PAULINA!
KORSO points O'CONNOR towards the entrance ramp. O'CONNOR looks in that
direction and gazes upon what appears to be his believed-to-be-deceased
wife. O'CONNOR's jaw drops as PAULINA (who is wearing a black lace dress and
a black veil that drops over her face) moves closer. KORSO opens the ropes
so that PAULINA may enter the ring…O'CONNOR is in shock as PAULINA, seemingly,
stands before him. KORSO circles behind the shell-shocked Heavyweight
Champion…
O'CONNOR: Could it really be you?.. I never dared to hope...
PAULINA?
PAULINA opens her arms and O'CONNOR moves towards her. Just before O'CONNOR
can embrace his wife, KORSO ATTACKS O'CONNOR WITH A PAIR OF BRASS
KNUCKLES! KORSO plants a punch to the back of the distracted
O'CONNOR's skull that nearly renders the champion unconscious. O'CONNOR
collapses before his wife as KORSO steps to her side. Raising the veil from
her face PAULINA takes KORSO's face in her hands and kisses him
passionately. O'CONNOR rises shakily to one knee, unable to believe the
scene before him.
KORSO: You may have had my number in the ring, PATRICK, but ultimately (and
intimately) I am the winner. You, mon Capitan, have just been
CORRUPTED.
Suddenly, two cloaked figures separate themselves from the crowd. They vault
the rails and make their way into the ring, standing behind the bewildered
O'CONNOR.
KORSO: You shall NEVER know the details of how PAULINA came to be at my
side. Oh… and as far as my contract situation is concerned: my career in the
MMP is OVER!. Lindsay can take this two-bit promotion and shove it!
I'm taking my talent, and PAULINA, elsewhere...
KORSO then directs his attention to the two cloaked figures standing over
O'CONNOR...
KORSO: I'm through with him boys... he's all yours.
The figures drop their cloaks to the floor and reveal themselves to be DAARK
and his disciple, INFERNO! DAARK nods to KORSO as INFERNO plants his large
foot over the back of O'CONNOR's neck… pinning the champion face down on the
mat. O’CONNOR desperately whimpers…
O’CONNOR: …paulina…
KORSO and PAULINA leave the ring area and head to the back as DAARK tears
the shirt off of O'CONNOR's body. DAARK begins chanting and begins
inscribing ancient runes onto O'CONNOR's back. Just then GEORGE and THOMAS
come streaming out of the back wielding a couple of Samoan clubs. They chase DAARK
and INFERNO from the ring.
Wood: What a shocking turn of events! Paulina O'Conner is alive,
and shacking up with John Korso! This has got to greatly improve MMX's chances of
unseating O'Conner atop the MMP here tonight. The champion can not be 100% focused
on the task at hand after what we just saw. Steve Lewin is backstage trying to get a word
with the Captain to hear his reaction to these startling events. In the meantime we go on
with the show and our first of three title matches here this evening. For this one I direct
your attention back to the bizzare "circus tent" set up back near the entrance where The
Joker's Child and Christian Antimarius will do battle for the MMP extreme
championship!
MMP Extreme Championship
Circus Tent Match
THE
JOKER'S CHILD (C) vs. CHRISTIAN ANTIMARIUS
The challenger made his way to the ring first, carrying his customary
barbed wire cross. After what The Family had done to his cathedral earlier in the week,
revenge was definitely on Antimarius' mind heading into the match. Joker had a large
entourage with him as always, this time consisting of Ponch and the CWO. He had not
only the extreme championship belt with him, but also Virus Richards' tag title belts. As
soon as Joker stepped into the cage Antimarius charged at him with the cross, but Joker
shot a stream of The Saint's "Holy Water" out of a flower on his ring attire, catching
Antimarius right in the face. Antimarius dropped the cross and grabbed his face in pain,
giving Joker the early advantage. The champion floored his challenger with a running
clothesline before taking the belt out of his pants and using it to choke Antimarius on the
canvas. The referee stepped in and tried to get Joker to release, and the champ
surprisingly obliged. He pulled back for only a second, but then began lashing Antimarius
across the back with the belt. With the match well in hand for Joker some of the CWO
members began to climb the cage. As they slowly proceeded up the fence Joker stopped
his assault and shouted at his loyal band of transients to pick up the pace. While Joker
was shouting instructions, his back remained turned to Antimarius, who was slowly
crawling over towards his cross. He reached over and grabbed the cross, swinging it up
and nailing Joker square in the back. Joker fell face first into the wall of the cage, causing
Welfare William and Hobo Richard to lose their grip and fall back to the floor.
Antimarius, who was getting his second wind, spun Joker around and nailed him with a
DDT. He then set the cross on Joker's right arm and stomped down on it, crushing the
arm under heavy wood and barbed wire. By this time Mr. Beumont and "Cup" Cooper
had reached the top of the "tent" and had fallen down through the openings in the top.
Cup was staggering to his feet as Antimarius grabbed a chair that was hanging on the wall
of the cage. He nailed Cup over the head with the chair, knocking him senseless. In the
meantime, though, Joker had managed to crawl over to the other side of the cage and pull
himself up with his one good arm. He grabbed a baseball bat down from the wall and
nailed Antimarius across the back with it, dropping the challenger but also hurting Joker's
arm in the process. Knowing that he needed more time to regroup Joker grabbed
Antimarius and applied a figure four leglock. While Antimarius struggled to escape the
hold Joker leaned back, applying extra pressure on the hold while catching a breather
himself. Joker, though, let his guard down too much and Antimarius managed to roll over
and reverse the hold, putting the pressure back on the champion. Mr. Beumont then
stumbled over and attempted The Drunk's Elbow on Antimarius, but as always the move
landed more than a little off the mark. Things were looking bad for Joker, prompting
Ponch to climb the cage. Joker grabbed the wall of the cage, causing the referee to step in
and try to physically pull the combatants' legs apart. As Joker was shaking the cobwebs
off, Ponch dropped the extreme title belt through one of the openings and into the cage.
Joker quickly grabbed the belt and as soon as Antimarius was back to his feet Joker
charged and swung the belt at the challenger's head. Antimarius, however, saw it coming.
He slapped his hand around Joker's throat and lifted him up in a chokeslam! After driving
the champion hard into the canvas, Antimarius pulled the barbed wire cross over. He then
pulled Joker up and set him up for the Dark Angels Fall, driving Joker head-first onto the
cross!! Antimarius made the cover and the ref counted three, crowning a new MMP
extreme champion!
Wood: Antimarius has done it! We have a new extreme champion,
and for the second time, it's Christian Antimarius! This could be the biggest win of
Antimarius' career, bringing him not only a championship but also a measure of revenge
for what The Family did to the Antimarius family's cathedral.
Brewer: Well, good for Antimarius. He's the extreme champion. But was getting the title
really worth losing his family's graves? I hardly think so. You know what would be an
appropriate measure of revenge for The Family? Jail! Nothing like a little hard time, and I
think it could do a world of good for those hooligans. I'm sure Ponch can tell Joker which
cell block to request.
Wood: Whoa, let's not get into that on the air. There are censors out there, and the last
thing this company needs is some right-wing radical do-gooder starting a campaign to get
advertisers to pull their ads from MMP programs. But hey, this show isn't about politics,
it's about wrestling, although our next match may not contain too many scientific holds.
They don't set the Hell in a Cell on fire for just any old match. Daark and Aries have
feuded off and on for quite some time now, with each man scoring a win. Tonight is the
rubber match, surrounded by burning steel, with the universal championship on the
line.
MMP Universal Championship
Pinfalls Only
Flaming
Cell Match
DAARK (C) vs. ARIES
As the cell lowered to the ground, the challenger made his way to the
ring, drawing a loud chorus of boos. Those jeers only grew louder, though, as the
universal champion, Daark, came down the aisle in the company of the giant Inferno.
Daark stepped slowly and solemnly into the ring, in much the same manner as The Cult
Master had done earlier, but was quickly attacked by an angry challenger who was eager
to get the proceedings underway. Aries pounded on Daark with forearms to the back,
driving him to the corner as the cell door was locked and the cage was set ablaze. He
rammed a series of knees into Daark's midsection, but his offense was slowed when Daark
got a quick thrust up into his opponent's throat. The challenger doubled over slightly in an
attempt to catch his breath, only to receive a second similar strike from Daark. A flying
lariat off the ropes from the champion finally put Aries down, but he didn't stay down
long. He shot back to his feet but was again taken over, this time from a picture-perfect
huracanrana from the universal champ. Daark followed up with a standing moonsault, but
was stopped abruptly when he landed square on his opponent's knees. The champ rolled
over clutching his midsection, getting up slowly and walking right into an Aries DDT.
The big man stayed on Daark and pulled him right back up, delivering a backbreaker that
he quickly turned into a sidewalk slam. Rolling Daark over, Aries then began driving his
knee into Daark's injured back, which was absorbing a great deal of punishment in the
early going. Inferno, looking on from outside the tower of flames, shouted
encouragement to his Lord, but never saw Virus Richards come running in through the
crowd. Virus hopped over the safety rail and came up from behind on Inferno, nailing him
in the back of the head with a fire extinguisher! Inferno went down hard and Virus rolled
him over, emptying the entire contents of the extinguisher into Inferno's face as he shouted
"Hey Scott, you traiterous ingrate! Remember me?!?". Security came down from the
back to escort Virus away, leaving Inferno flat on his back right next to the cell. Inside
the ring Aries was still in control, lifting Daark up in a vertical suplex. Daark, though,
managed to escape Aries' grasp, sliding down Aries' back and nailing him with a kick to
the midsection. While Aries was doubled over Daark bounced off the far ropes and lept
high in the air, delivering a devastating ax kick to the back of the challenger's head. Aries
fell face first to the canvas but Daark was slow to capitalize, still feeling the effect of Aries'
assault on his back. The champion eventually pulled himself up and went to work on
Aries' legs, delivering a painful leg splitter before dropping a series of quick elbows across
the left knee. Aries reached down and grabbed the leg in agony as Daark backed off,
readying himself in the corner while he waited for Aries to get back to his feet. When the
big man finally regained his vertical base Daark charged in and caught Aries with an
inverted bulldog. Then, with Aries looking ready to be finished, Daark set him up for the
Purgatory sharpshooter! He began to lock the legs, but Aries proved too powerful at that
instance, easily kicking out of the hold and sending Daark to the corner, almost over the
top and into the flames. Daark held onto the top rope desperately to avoid the fire, and
after regaining his balance he turned back to attempt his finisher once again.
Unfortunately for Daark, Aries had already gotten back to his feet. When Daark turned he
walked right into big boot to the face from the "Beast from Greece". Daark's head
snapped back against the canvas and Aries was ready to finish him off. He picked Daark
up and hoisted him in the air for the Godly Drop, but just as happened earlier, Daark
managed to escape. He hooked Aries' head as he slid down and, using the ropes as a
springboard, nailed the Whispered Prophecy! Daark quickly made the cover and hooked
the leg tightly for the 1...2...3! The flames were quickly shut off and the cage raised. The
referee passed Daark his belt, but the champion was barely able to accept it. Inferno, who
himself was still disoriented from Virus' sneak attack, helped Daark back to the dressing
room as Aries slammed his hands on the canvas in disgust.
Wood: What a battle! Daark has really been pushed to the limit lately
for that universal title, yet remarkably he has managed to hold onto the gold. First it was
DNL at Best of the Best and now Aries here tonight. There's no doubt that Daark has
proven himself a worthy champion, after a lot of rumblings that his title win over The
Bootlegger in August was a fluke and that he was a fraudulent titleholder.
Brewer: I don't necessarily agree with that. When a champion comes that close to losing
his title that regularly, it really makes me wonder if maybe he isn't a fluke after
all.
Wood: Doesn't it tell you that he might just be a fighting champion, someone deserving of
credit for facing top competition on a regular basis?
Brewer: No, it doesn't. A champion is contractually obligated to defend his title. If he
didn't, the suits would take it from him. Just ask that yellow-bellied jackass The Joker's
Child about that. The simple fact is that Daark hasn't done anything to show me that he is
deserving of that title. He got lucky against DNL, and he was half a second away from
being Godly Dropped out of the belt tonight. Some of the more fickle observers who just
go with the flow might agree with you, Wood, but I'm still not convinced.
Wood: Well, we all know that Daark will have a chance to prove himself at the upcoming
Season's Slayings PPV event in Ottawa on the 29th of December. He will be the
challenger in the final MMP match of the millenium when he tries to pry the world title
away from Captain Patrick O'Conner, whose credibility as a champion is definitely not in
question. Before we get to the Corel Center, though, O'Conner has a daunting task in
front of him in the form of the reigning MMP television champion and the winner of the
Hall of Fame tournament, Masked Menace X. The winner will in fact defend against
Daark at the PPV. Can MMX be the man to finally unseat O'Conner as the world
champion? Let's go to the ring to find out!
MMP World Championship Match
CAPTAIN PATRICK
O'CONNER (C) vs. MASKED MENACE X
The challenger came to the ring first, accompanied by Mini Menace
and wearing the TV belt around his waist. He handed the referee his championship and
gave the official a stern warning not to mess things up as the crowd burst into cheers for
the arrival of the champion, Captain Patrick O'Conner. O'Conner was wearing a blood-
red kilt with his trusty shileleagh club attached to the waist. He was accompanied by
George Achica and by Thomas, both brandishing Samoan war clubs, keeping an extra eye
out for anyone who might try to interfere and cost the Captain his championship.
O'Conner went right after MMX, hammering with elbows to the head and knees to the
body, backing him into the corner. Not long into the match Hyoga came down to
ringside, brandishing a 2x4. He went right over to Mini Menace and nailed the midget in
the head with the board, knocking Mini clear out. Hyoga then went over and grabbed
MMX's TV title belt and began measuring it against his waist. MMX raked the Captain's
eyes to get out of the corner and, when he saw what was happening on the outside,
jumped down to the floor. He grabbed a steel chair and came up from behind on Hyoga,
nailing him across the back and dropping him face first to the floor. The TV champ then
started stomping on Hyoga's back, losing all focus on the match at hand. O'Conner started
out of the ring to pursue his opponent, but Super Cupid appeared on the giant television
screen. He was standing outside the arena, near O'Conner's car. Cupid turned to face the
camera while zipping up his pants and began to speak:
Cupid: Oh, sorry! Had to relieve myself. You might want to run this lemon through a
car wash Pat. By the way, the bounty is still on your head O'Conner, and we you know
how greedy these Canadians are. Look luck tryint to make it back to the
states!
The shot widened, showing roughly a dozen men, all holding baseball bats, standing
nearby. While O'Conner was focused on the screen MMX slid back into the ring and
nailed the champion with a hard knee to the back that ran O'Conner into the turnbuckle.
O'Conner struck sternum first against the corner and staggered out backwards, walking
right into an MMX DDT. MMX started to pull O'Conner up, but was distracted by a fan
in the front row. The fan had been shouting insults at MMX throughout the match, and
MMX had finally had enough. He jumped down to the floor and started yelling at the fan,
and even hopped the rail to chase the fan out of the arena. MMX didn't get far, though, as
the referee soon followed him out and grabbed onto MMX, holding him back while
security corralled the obnoxious patron. MMX shoved the referee aside, but by then
O'Conner had also followed him out to the floor and laid into the challenger with stiff right
crosses. He then grabbed MMX around the midsection and nailed a belly to belly suplex
on the floor, slamming MMX down on the concrete. O'Conner pulled MMX and
hiptossed him into the steps before climbing up on the apron. Unhooking his club from his
waist, O'Conner waited for MMX to get back up before diving off with a flying axhandle
blow, holding the club against his forearm for extra effect. He then tossed MMX back in
the ring and stopped for a moment to absorb the cheers of the sold out crowd. While
O'Conner remained on the floor, MMX reached into his tights and pulled out a pair of
brass knuckles. He slipped them over his fist and lay flat on the canvas, waiting for
O'Conner to come back in. When the champion returned and pulled MMX up, he was met
with a loaded right hand to the temple. MMX quickly delivered a second shot, knocking
the Captain down hard, but rather than going for a cover he slid out of the ring. He
waved off the ring, signifying that he had enough, and headed back to the dressing room.
MMX didn't get far, though. George, with club in hand, cut MMX off in the aisle and
asked him where he was going. MMX tried to push past, but George picked him up over
his shoulder and carried him back towards the ring. He tossed the challenger back in
under the bottom rope, and MMX was livid. He jumped to his feet and began cursing at
George, but was oblivious to the Captain getting back to his feet behind him. Before
MMX could turn around, O'Conner grabbed him and nailed his patented triple suplex
combination. Then, before MMX could recover, O'Conner picked up the shileleagh and
hooked MMX in the Captain's Bridge. The TV champ didn't last long before he waved in
favor of a submission. O'Conner was presented with the title belt in victory, much to the
delight of the fans, as the screen fades to black.
