HASSAN ABU SAADA vs. HARBINGER

With Harbinger waiting in the ring, a procession of muscular Arabs carted his opponent to the squared circle. Seated on top of a golden throne was the debuting Hassan Abu Saada. The servants set him down at the edge of the entrance way, but Harbinger wasn’t going to wait. He charged right at the rookie, but was met with a solid blow to the forehead from Hassan’s scepter for his trouble. Harbinger hit the floor hard, and Hassan was right on top of him. Straddling his opponent, Hassan used the scepter to choke his rabid adversary out. Hassan had things well in control, but apparently did not have Harbinger’s unorthodox fighting style too well scouted, and the choke was broken with a vicious rake of the eyes. Harbinger then took the fight to Saada, choking him and biting his face before pulling a fork out of his boot and using it to gouge Hassan’s forehead. As blood started seeping out of the Egyptian, Harbinger tossed the man back into the ring before continuing his assault. Hassan wiped the blood from his eyes as Harbinger came off the ropes with a flying crossbody, and managed to catch the man in mid air with a powerslam. The big Egyptian took advantage from there, tossing Harbinger off the ropes and catching him in the Koran Thump. A hook of the leg and a three count later, and Hassan Abu Saada had his first MMP victory.

LARDZILLA vs. LEONARD “CUP” COOPER

The massive Lardzilla made his way to the ring first, drawing a loud chorus of jeers from the New Jersey crowd as a result of his unpopluar alliance with The Bootlegger. Cup the made his entrance, coming to the ring with a dog under a sheet and demanding a mic:

Cup: Heerz ta intruduse my newest manaj'r.........(Cup pulls off the sheet and a hound dog is shown) Rusty! Now get in dis ring fatee!

Lardzilla climbed the steps to answer his opponent’s challenge, but as he did so, Cup sic’d his “manager” Rusty after Lard. Rusty, however, was less than enthusiastic about his assignment, and took off under the bottom rope before hiding under the ring. Cup’s eyes followed Rusty out, allowing Lardzilla to get the early advantage. The massive man took Cup down with a running clothesline before putting his girth to use and stomping away on his opponent, driving the full force of his 500-plus pound frame down on Cooper’s back. Hot Crimson’s former manager looked to be in trouble early on, but he had a gameplan. Reaching into his boots, Cup pulled out a pair of brass knuckles and put them over his right hand before nailing Lardzilla with a hard uppercut below the belt. The big man doubled over in excruciating pain, and Cup went out to the floor to grab a weapon – the steel ring steps. Cup shoved the steps in under the bottom rope and immediately started to use them. With Lardzilla still feeling the effects of the knucks to the groin, Cup nailed his slowed opponent repeatedly in the cranium with the steps. The force of the repeated shots quickly put Lardzilla down, and Cup quickly went for the Mutton Tamer. After realizing that Lardzilla was too heavy to try and roll into his finishing move, Cup grabbed the steps again and drove them down into Lardzilla’s face before covering him for the three count.

Steel Cage Submission Match
HOT CRIMSON vs. PERRY SANDERS

Perry came to the ring first but, knowing that Crimson has close ties to other wrestlers in the MMP, he had some unexpected backup with him. Zane and Charles accompanied Sanders, who had a steel chair in hand, to the ring. Crimson then made his way out, and didn’t waste any time in going right after Sanders. Crimson quickly slid into the ring and the cage door was locked behind him, but Sanders was waiting on him and nailed Crimson with a chair shot square across the back. With things clearly in hand in the early going, Sanders set the chair in the corner, waited for Crimson to get back to his feet, and nailed his opponent square in the jaw with a superkick. Crimson went down hard and Sanders went for a quick win. Standing Crimson on his knees, Sanders pulled back on both of his opponent’s arms and pressed his knee into his back, pulling Crimson back in a form of a standing bow and arrow. The referee got down to see if Crimson wanted to give up, but Crimson laughed it off and tried to pull himself back up. He got up to one knee, but Sanders wasn’t about to let go, and turned the hold into an armbar. Pulling Crimson up, Sanders tossed him off the ropes and went for a spinning heel kick but Crimson ducked, sending Sanders overhead and landing him hard on the canvas. A potential turning point took place here as Sanders landed awkwardly on his left leg, twisting his knee and ankle when he hit. Crimson took advantage, stomping repeatedly on Sanders’ bag leg before pulling him up and hitting a swinging neckbreaker and applying an armbar of his own. Crimson didn’t get the move on very well and Sanders was able to reverse it before catching Crimson with a dropkick. Apparently the leg injuries weren’t as bad as they originally seemed, and Sanders took over on the offense once again. With Crimson down, Sanders came off the ropes with a springboard moonsault before setting his opponent on the top turnbuckle. With the match apparently well in hand, Sanders went to the top rope as Tao Te Ching made his way down. The arrival, however, didn’t phase Sanders, who took Crimson over with a huracanrana off the top before grabbing the steel chair out of the corner. Crimson lay flat on his back in the middle of the ring as Sanders started up the wall of the cage with chair in hand. Zane and Charles were not as nonchalant about Tao’s presence as Perry was, and the two men surrounded Tao, who quickly hopped over the safety rail to get away from them, insisting that he was only there to watch the match. In the ring, Sanders had climbed to the top of the cage, but since he couldn’t win this match by going over to the floor, he set the chair under his legs and dove off with a flying legdrop! Crimson, however, had enough time to regroup while Perry climbed, and managed to roll out of the way at the last second. Sanders hit the mat hard, and both men were down. On the outside, Tao had backed away up into the first few rows of fans and convinced Zane and Charles to go back to the corner. When the two men turned around, Tao tossed a pipe up over the top of the cage and in to Crimson. Sanders’ backup reacted quickly, taking off after Tao and chasing him all the way into the lobby of the arena. Crimson grabbed the pipe and delivered a solid blow to the forehead of Sanders, knocking him out enough to pull out a pair of handcuffs and chain Sanders’ hands behind his back. With Sanders unable to defend himself, Crimson wrapped his legs around Sanders’ throat in a sleeper/chokehold, quickly draining the life out of Perry’s body. The referee asked Sanders if he wanted to quit, and when Perry was unable to answer, he stopped the match and awarded the decision to Crimson. Hot Crimson released the hold, and Sanders collapsed face first on the canvas, his bloodied forehead dripping on the mat. Crimson pushed Perry aside and licked up some of the blood before exiting the cage and heading back to the dressing room.

THE DEADLY SYNS vs. MR. BEUMONT & BRICK STEVENS

The Deadly Syns made their way out first, accompanied to the ring by Daphne. The trio wasn’t in the ring long before Korso demanded the microphone:

Korso: “I've been doing a lot of thinking recently about who I can depend on... about who I can trust and after watching the tape of my match with DAARK at the Apocalypse Pay-Per-View... I now realize I have TWO people to blame for my loss. The first person to blame for my loss is "STUNNING" STEVE SIMON. I've already placed that ingrate on SYNDICATE probation and I think he's proven just how incompetent he REALLY is by dropping the TV TITLE to that talentless blob last week at Saturday Night Slams. But the second person to blame is someone who is extremely close to me... someone I thought I could trust. Someone who wound up betraying me and that someone is BOOTLEGGETTE DAPHNE! That's right, DAPHNE!! You were on the grassy knoll the entire time... tossing me the shoe and... and DISTRACTING ME! But don't worry, Daphne... There won't be any probation for you... BECAUSE YOU'RE FIRED!!! Get the HELL out of my sight, you dish-rag whore!! You're a worthless piece of humanity!!!”

Humiliated, Daphne slowly walked back to the dressing room with her head down before The Syns’ opponents were introduced. The CWO members came down to the ring in red tights. They were carrying an old USSR flag that had the hammer and sickle covered and the words “Cec’s World Order” on one side and “We Do Take Out” on the other. Beumont then started talking to the ring announcer who, with a look of sheer annoyance on his face, spoke to the New Jersey crowd:

Ring Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Beumont requests that you all rise and respect his singing of the CWO national anthem.

Beumont grabbed the mic and he and Brick placed their hands over their hearts as China Town Lee stood between them holding up the flag. Lee passed a piece of paper to Beumont and Banjo Buzz started to play the song on his one string banjo.

Beumont: On the menu Cec's has chicken ball, 12 for $2.99, egg rolls one for $1.00, oh oh try our meal deal, one egg roll, five chicken balls, and white rice with plum sauce all for $5.99. It also comes with a complimentary Coke.

Before Beumont could continue, Korso flew into a rage and attacked both members of the CWO team. He nailed Brick with a cut block before George shoved Stevens out to the floor. Korso then nailed Beumont with a kick to the midsection and connected with the Hollow Point. Covering Beumont, Korso counted along with the referee as he counted the pin. Korso then took off storming back to the dressing room, with George following close behind.

Pinfalls Only
Triple Threat Match
THE DESTROYER vs. HYOGA vs. TAO TE CHING

The three men made their separate ways down to the ring, with none of the three the decided favorite of the sold out crowd at the Continental Airlines Arena.. Before the match got underway, the referee ordered Tran, the only person who had accompanied any of the three men to the ring, to leave the ringside area or Tao would be thrown out of the match. Tran argued but eventually agreed, and headed back to the dressing room as the opening bell sounded. The surprise move by the official didn’t phase Tao, who went on the offense right away. Tao’s judgment, however, was in question, as his first attack was an attempted huracanrana on Destroyer. The near 500-pound former tag team and extreme champion blocked the move with ease and nearly threw Tao through the ring with a huge powerbomb. Destroyer went for a quick cover but Hyoga was all over him, nailing him with a brass knuckle-aided punch to the back of the head and a double arm DDT. Hyoga pounded on Destroyer while Tao rolled out to the floor to regroup. While the action continued, Tao reached under the ring and pulled out a tray of weapons. Jumping up on the apron, Tao sprayed Hyoga in the face with a can of spray paint before nailing him across the back of the neck with a kendo stick. Hyoga slumped back against the ropes as Tao re-entered the ring and caught Hyoga with a superkick that put him over the top rope and out to the floor. With Hyoga out of the picture, Tao turned to go after Destroyer, but the big man was ready for him. Lifting Tao up on his shoulders, Destroyer nailed the Oriental youngster with a Samoan drop that knocked the wind right out of him. Destroyer then went out to the floor where Tao’s tray of weapons lay and grabbed a pair of pliers. Putting Tao in an armbar, Destroyer grabbed tight on Tao’s left hand and started pulling out his fingernails. After prying two nails off of Tao, Destroyer pulled him up and tossed him over the top rope with a powerbomb that landed Tao back-first on the safety rail. Destroyer went to follow up when Hyoga came in the ring from the other side and caught the big man with a chop block that brought him down to one knee. Hyoga then applied a cobra clutch to try and wear the big man down. Destroyer started to fade, but Hyoga startled the crowd by letting go. Remembering his promise to powerbomb Destroyer, Hyoga set the big man in position, but again Destroyer’s massive girth proved too much and the big man easily blocked the hold, even in a semi-conscious state. Hyoga, however, had a backup plan. Hooking Destroyer’s arms behind his back, Hyoga nailed him with a pedigree! He rolled the big man over and went for a cover, but Destroyer managed to kick out just before the three. Never letting up, Hyoga rolled out to the floor and grabbed a steel chair when Tao shot up from the floor and caught Hyoga with a spinning heel kick that jammed the chair into his face. Tao tossed Hyoga into the ring before reaching under the ring once again. Destroyer got back to his feet, but as Tao rolled back in he tossed a giant net over the big man that covered most of the ring. Tao then turned back to Hyoga, but when he did he was caught with Hyoga’s spinning chokeslam! While Destroyer tried to free himself from the net, Hyoga covered Tao and hooked the leg for the three count.

Barbed Wire Cell Match
DR. NO LIMIT vs. MASKED MAN X

Masked Man X made his way down, accompanied by The Fighting Heroes, Ying and Yang. Much to the surprise of the fans in attendance, Mighty Midget was nowhere to be found. The midwestern champion then came out with not only Zane and Charles at his side, but also Perry Sanders, who was pushing a dumpster down the aisle. The quartet loaded the ring with spools of barbed wire, a sack of thumbtacks, and a full length mirror before DNL stepped inside and the door was locked behind him. DNL and MMX circled one another on the inside, while on the outside, DNL’s backup pulled two cans of gasoline out of the dumpster. They started shaking the gas on the cell, but Ying and Yang attacked them, and the four men started brawling on the outside just as they had done on the previous week’s show. They battled all the way back to the dressing room, leaving only Sanders out about ringside. The referee called for the match to get underway, but both DNL and MMX were cautious of one another as they hooked up for the first time. MMX offered DNL a handshake, but the midwestern champion wasn’t falling for it. He extended his hand to accept but quickly pulled back, telling MMX that he was too smart for that old trick. MMX didn’t wait to respond, rushing DNL immediately and nailing him with a running clothesline. DNL shot back to his feet, but MMX took him down again, this time with an armdrag takeover. With MMX building momentum, DNL slid out to the floor to regroup in the space between the ring and the cell. MMX didn’t want to let his opponent catch a break and went over after him, but when he leaned through the ropes, DNL nailed him with a chair shot to the skull. Tossing the chair into the ring, DNL quickly slid back in and tossed MMX off the ropes, lifting him up in a flapjack and dropping him face first on the steel. With MMX down, DNL went over to where he had tossed one of the spools of barbed wire and started wrapping it around his body. Soon his entire torso was entangled in barbed wire, but it wouldn’t pay any immediate dividends. When DNL turned around, he was surprised to see MMX back on his feet, and even more surprised to be receiving the sole of his opponent’s boot right in the jaw as MMX connected with a superkick. Pulling DNL up by the head, MMX ran him across the ring and tossed him through the ropes, sending him face first into the barbed wire of the cell. Looking to avenge his loss a week earlier, MMX set the mirror that DNL had brought out in the corner and pulled the midwestern champion back into the ring. He went for a whip that would send DNL into the glass, but the champion reversed it and it was MMX who’s back crashed into an eight foot tall plane of glass. The mirror shattered in tiny pieces, and MMX fell hard face first to the canvas. After stopping for a moment to catch his breath, DNL started kicking the shards of glass around, spreading them around in the corner. He then pulled a winded MMX back to his feet, only to deliver a rocker dropper, using his leg strength to drive MMX’s face into the glass and grind the shards into his skin. MMX’s suit and mask were both starting to tear, and DNL had the match well in hand. The midwestern champion wasn’t done yet, though, and went over to his corner and grabbed another spool of barbed wire, this time wrapping it around his head! He then went under the ring and pulled out a table, which he set up in the ring. Placing MMX on the table, DNL went to the top rope and came off with a diving headbutt, but MMX rolled out of the way and No Limit crashed head first through the table, the barbed wire tearing at the skin and flesh on his face. Getting his second wind, MMX was quick to pick up the offense. He went over and picked up the chair that DNL had used earlier, setting it on the canvas near the broken table. DNL started to stir, but when he did, MMX pulled him up and nailed the X-Plex, landing DNL right on the chair! From there it was academic as the referee counted the 1…2…3!!! MMX kicked DNL out under the bottom rope as the cell door was opened. Perry Sanders stepped in to help DNL up when the theme song from the Barney the Dinosaur show started to play over the PA system and a man in a Barney suit came down the aisle to help DNL and Perry. Mighty Midget then came running down with a 2x4 to help MMX, but Barney cut him off and grabbed the board away. He went to take a swing at the midget, but MM ran right into the cell and joined up with X. Barney turned away and started back to the dressing room, but then turned around and nailed Perry Sanders right across the back with the 2x4! A second shot busted the board over DNL’s bloodied forehead. The music then changed to Aerosmith’s “Back in the saddle again” as Barney pulled off his mask to reveal the attacker as Wolverine!!! Pulling DNL up, Wolverine nailed the Michigan Death Driver on the floor before MMX called for a mic:

MMX: DNL you pathetic evil man. Look what happens when you make a mockery of justice. You dare finish me off last week using my good friend Wolverine's finisher... and now you have paid the price. And to all my fans out there wondering what has drove me to a match like this…well…let me just say this…from now on MMX is The Hardcore Hero of the MMP. And I will stop and no lengths to punish evil in my new fashion. And the means you Regulator... I Justice will be brought to you for what you did to those Women.

The trio walked off, with MMX tossing the mic on DNL as he departed.

MMP Tag Team Championship Match
UPSTANDING CITIZENS (C) vs. MYSTERY OPPONENTS

The arena stirred into near silence in anticipation of the mystery challengers. Many names had been tossed around all week, but all doubts were put to rest when “Shout at the Devil ‘97” blared over the loudspeaker and Super Cupid and Ouija Lullabye made their way down to the ring with their personal security. Virus and Joker then came out, seemingly unfazed by the revelation, as if they had expected it all along. Ponch and Michael were both at ringside with the champions. Ponch slid quickly into the ring and started talking to the challengers, distracting them long enough for the champs to get the early upper hand. Joker nailed Cupid with a chair shot across the back as Virus delivered a chop block into the back of Lullabye’s leg. Ponch briefly joined Joker in the assault on Cupid, whipping him with Joker’s TV title belt, but the security guards quickly put a stop to that, dragging Ponch out of the ring and hammering into a pulp before dragging him back to the entrance and tossing him to the dressing room. With things evening up, former MMP training camp competitor Scooter rushed in from the crowd and nailed Joker across the back with a steel chair. Virus’ attack was focused on Lullabye, and he never saw what was happening to his partner. Scooter helped Cupid hold Joker down and they slapped a pair of handcuffs on Joker, making him unable to defend himself. Cupid stomped on Joker, and Scooter went over to help Ouija fend off Virus. The two men were soon double-teaming Virus in the corner while Cupid pounded Joker. The champions were in trouble, and the sold out crowd knew it. Pablo then made his return, wheeling a dumpster down to ringside. With both champions down, Ouija grabbed the cuffed and beaten TV champion and tossed him over the top rope, right into the dumpster. In the meantime, Super Cupid rolled out to the floor and offered a handshake to Ray Brewer. The broadcaster warily started to accept, but Cupid laid into him with a right hand, knocking Brewer to the floor. He then nailed Brewer with a DDT before setting him on the announce table, climbing to the top rope, and nailing the Cupid’s Arrow on Brewer through the table! With a title change seemingly only moments away, the CWO made their way down the aisle with William and Richard shouting that Pablo had ripped them off, that they found the dumpster first. The security guards, who by then had returned, cut them off in the aisle and chased the bums back to the dressing room, but the diversion allowed Psychotic Sam, The Saint, and Mike the Giant Retard to get in on the action. While Cupid was struggling back to his feet from the wreckage about ringside, Mike and Saint attacked. Mike nailed Cupid in the forehead with Harold the Fish and Saint dumped a thermos filled with scalding “holy water” in his face. Sam jumped in the ring and nailed Scooter across the back with Marbels before hitting Ouija with a Psychotic Smash. The interference of The Family brought the final piece of the puzzle to the ring, as former world champion Masochrist made his way down. Climbing into the ring, Maso nailed Sam with a clubbing forearm from behind. Mike pulled Scooter out of the ring and, with Ouija out from the Psychotic Smash, Virus draped an arm over Lullabye’s prone form for the three count. Michael pulled Virus out of the ring and hurried him to the back victorious. Cupid nailed Saint with a low blow and slammed him head first into the safety rail and soon a full fledged brawl between The Family and The Congregation was on. A group of referees was sent down to break the action up, but not before Masochrist shot a fireball right into the face of Psychotic Sam. Sam hit the mat writhing in pain as Maso, Cupid, Ouija, and Scooter headed back to the dressing room. After The Congregation was gone, the CWO came back down and quickly pushed the dumpster back to the dressing room, with William and Richard arguing over who would get to go through it first.

Falls Count Anywhere Match
ONYX COOPER vs. THE RYNO

The stakes in this match between two former extreme champions had been upped a couple of days prior to the event with the announcement that the winner would get a shot at Daark’s universal championship on September 18. Cooper made his way out first and actually heard some cheers from the fans, acknowledging their close proximity to his hometown of Brooklyn, New York. With Loui Slugger having been stolen by The Family a week earlier, Cooper had a new tool with him tonight to go along with his new battlemask, a steel walking stick. As he hit the ring, Cooper struck a pose for the fans, showing another example of his cocky in-ring attitude that had been showing over the past couple of weeks. Not waiting for his entrance music to play, Ryno rushed the ring with a steel chair and tried to get the jump on Onyx early, but Cooper was ready for him. He ducked out of the way of Ryno’s chair shot and caught his opponent in the midsection with the walking stick before taking him down awkwardly with a spear to the back. Ryno’s back appeared to be injured early, but that didn’t slow Cooper down. Looking to further limit his adversary’s mobility, Cooper slid out to the floor, grabbed Ryno’s legs and straddled them around the ring post. Cooper tried to pull Ryno forward in a wishbone, but Ryno had a counter, pulling his legs back hard and slamming Cooper face first into the post in the process. With Cooper slowed on the floor, Ryno got to his feet and, after taking a few steps to try and shake the pain in his back, climbed to the top rope. Cooper turned to face him and Ryno came off with a corkscrew plancha from the top but Onyx was ready for him, sidestepping the assault and sending Ryno crashing hard into the safety railing. Ryno rolled over in pain, stopping with his chest pressed against the floor. Looking for a quick win, Cooper nailed him with a series of three elbow drops to the back of the neck before rolling him over and going for a cover. Ryno, still with a lot of fight in him, managed to get a shoulder up before three to let everyone know that he’s still in the match. Cooper was relentless and kept the fight on, grabbing Ryno and tossing him over the safety rail into the first row of spectators. Onyx slowly followed, but when the fans jumped out of their seats to clear the way for the combatants, they also left their chairs open for anyone who could grab them. Ryno did exactly that, grabbing one of the vacated chairs before Onyx could follow him into the crowd and nailing his adversary square in the face with a vicious chair shot. The ambush dropped Cooper in his tracks, and gave Ryno a chance to regroup. After stealing a drink from one of the nearby fans, Ryno pulled Cooper up and the two fought back towards the exit. They battled in the lobby, heading down the corridor towards the restrooms, where a small crowd had assembled after seeing that the match had spilled out of the arena. The fans cheered as Cooper and Ryno traded blows back and forth before heading into the restroom. Ryno slammed Cooper into the wall and went to slam him head first into the sink, but Cooper blocked it with his foot and hiptossed Ryno into one of the six washroom stalls. Ryno went crashing through the door and landed hard on the porcelain, but he didn’t stay down. Pulling himself up, Ryno went right back after Cooper, only to get slammed face first into a paper towel dispenser for his troubles. The two men then battled back towards the arena with Cooper peppering Ryno with short elbows to the head as they went. Cooper looked ready to finish the match off as the two arrived back at ringside, but Ryno wasn’t done yet and nailed Cooper with a hard European uppercut below the belt to turn the tide. After slowly pulling himself up and shaking off the cobwebs, Ryno pulled Cooper up onto the safety rail. Once he was in position, Ryno nailed Cooper with a suplex off the rail…and directly through the timekeeper’s table! Both men were slow to get up, as the impact of the moves of this hard fought contest were really starting to take effect. Cooper pulled himself up, but could only muster up the strength to deliver a weak kick to Ryno’s midsection. Ryno easily caught it, but Cooper showed his resiliency and turned it into an insigury kick to the back of the head. Again, both men were down. This time, however, it was Ryno who was back to his feet first. He pulled Cooper back to his feet and rolled him into the ring, but Ryno was all over him and didn’t give him a chance to regroup. He grabbed Onyx and set him on the top rope, positioning him for a Ryno Charge! Ryno got Cooper up and in position, holding him high in the air and preparing to drop him off the top onto the Spanish announce table when Cooper fought back. He pounded on Ryno’s forehead, hitting him three, four, five times before grabbing Ryno by the head and connecting with the Edge bulldog from the top rope all the way down to the floor!! Cooper landed on top of Ryno and, though motionless, was in position for the referee to count the 1…2…3!! The ref raised Cooper’s hand in victory, but the celebration was short lived. Only seconds after the bell, Daark hit the ring. The universal champion, who would face Cooper on September 18, attacked the semi-conscious number-one contender on the floor as the scene fades to black.
