MMP Championship Fever
Three new champions will be crowned on June 17 - Live from Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI!!!
MMP Championship Fever is on the air!!! Commentators Jerry Wood and Ray Brewer are at ringside.
Wood: Welcome, everyone, to MMP Championship Fever! I'm Jerry Wood along with Ray Brewer! Tonight, four championships will be decided, including the MMP World Title, which will be held up in an eight-man, single elimination tournament!
Brewer: This is not right! The belt should have been given back to Diamond King after he was cheated out of the gold at Chaos on the Coast! I'm confident that, right here tonight, the HWA World Champion will unify that belt with the MMP title!
Wood: We're gonna open things up tonight with a fifteen-man BattleBowl! The top four men in this match will be given shots at titles later on tonight! Let's go to the ring!
High Society makes their way out first. Members Mr. Marvellous and Brick Stevens are involved in the match. They are joined by Aries, Mr. Universe, and Dangerous Dave. Marvellous is on the mic:
Marvellous: Just before Brick and I take over this match, High Society has a major announcement to make! Introducing the newest member of the greatest stable in wrestling history - AL'RASHID!!!
(Rashid makes his way to the ring and joins his fellow High Society members as the rest of the participants come down the aisle).
15-MAN BATTLEBOWL
As the ring filled with talent, the action got under way quickly. It was clear that almost everyone in the match had an ally to help eliminate the competition. As Brick Stevens and Mr. Marvellous were conferring in the corner with Al'Rashid, The Ryno charged at his longtime rival Marvellous and knocked him over the top rope!!! Ryno and Brick then began to go at it, with neither man gaining the advantage. Wasted Youth had been well prepared for the match. Knowing that it was no disqualification, he came to the ring wearing baseball cleats with metal spikes!! He dropkicked Kamakazi with the spikes, and the high flyer hit the mat hard. Youth rolled him up and got the pin. On the other side of the ring, The Emperor was making his MMP debut. He had brought his valet, Princess, to the ring with him. She quickly got up on the apron and passed her man a golden staff, which Emperor used to knock Lenny Shaw over the top rope! Men were dropping like flies!
After going to the outside to grab a chair, Wasted Youth then went after "Massacre" Mark Allyn. His opponent for this Saturday saw him coming, however, and blocked the chair shot. Allyn then stole the chair and nailed Youth with it, sending him to the outside. Machine Head and Pot Head, two members of Disposable Heroes, were working very well together at taking apart the competition. Moving in, they double-teamed Brick Stevens. Machine Head nailed the man with the Mechanic's Thrust and got the pin! High Society was done in the BattleBowl! As he made his way to the exit, he was met in the aisle by Mr. Marvellous and Aries. The three men made their way to the ring. Brick and Marvellous were stopped, but Aries was able to get to ringside. He climbed up on the apron, grabbed Scorpion by the hair and eliminated him! Seeing what his rival had done, Scorpion attacked the "Beast from Greece" and the two men fought back to the dressing room. Psychotic Sam and Havoc, both still in the match focused their attentios on the Rock 'n' Roll Pumpkin. The two men were too powerful and easily threw Pumpkin over the top.
The Ryno was again in the middle of the action. He was going at it with The Emperor. As Ryno tried to eliminate the Chinese competitor, Princess got up on the apron to stand in the way of the attempt! Not one to attack a woman, Ryno stopped. Havoc lunged at Ryno, who saw the attack and ducked in time to see Havoc nail Emperor into his valet and over the top rope!! With Havoc gloating over his accomplishment, Ryno took advatage. He rolled Havoc into a small package and pinned the man!!! Havoc soon came back to the ring, this time accompanied by two men in suits. One of the suits got on the microphone:
Suit: Mr. Ryno, my name is Larry Stewart. I am an accomplished civil attorney. I am here to serve you with a summons to appear as a witness in a court of law. Your valet, Kellye, is also ordered to appear as the defendant in a sexual assault case filed by a Mr. Sam on behalf of one Marbels. She is charged with having assaulted that individual last Saturday night. We will see you in court, sir.
With Ryno distracted, Sam came up on him from behind and hit the Psychotic Smash to get the pin!!!! Pot Head lunged at Sam, but the man ducked, sending Pot over the top to the floor! The match was down to four men: Machine Head, "Ragin' Cajun" Remy Lebeau, Psychotic Sam ,and "Massacre" Mark Allyn!
The first man to be eliminated was Allyn. He locked up with Machine Head, hitting him with a bodyslam in the corner. Allyn went to the top to attempt his St. Valentine's Day Splash, but he missed the move! Sam came running over, pushed Machine aside and got the pin! With Sam celebrating, Machine Head waited for him to turn around before nailing him with the Mechanic's Thrust!! It was an easy three count, leaving Machine and Lebeau as the final two men standing. As the two men went at it, they were evidently two evenly matched competitors. Both men attempted their finishing kicks at the same time, nailing each other in the groin!!! Remy was first to his feet and charged Machine. Machine ducked and sent Remy over the top to the floor!!! MACHINE HEAD WINS THE BATTLEBOWL after eliminating Remy Lebeau! He will go on to be in the World Title tournament against Aries in the first round!!
Wood: Machine Head wins! Machine Head wins! What an outstanding match! He will face Aries later on tonight in the tournament! This also means that Remy Lebeau will face Orion and Virus Richards for the Universal title and Psychotic Sam will face Mark Allyn in a ladder match for the Midwestern title!
Brewer: Ya gotta give Machine Head his due! He beat fourteen of the toughest men in the world to win that match! I doubt he'll have anything left to face Aries!
Wood: We've got action all night long! Let's go back to the ring!
DION LARYNX VS. MR. UNIVERSE
Universe came to the ring with his bodyguard, Dangerous Dave. He locked up with the member of UMP in the middle of the ring. Dion gained the early advantage, going to the legs of his larger opponent. He began to wear down Universe with a variety of kicks, and then began his arial attack. He hit a missile dropkick square in the kneecap of Universe that sent the big man to the mat! After using a pair of submission holds on the leg, Larynx appeared to be in control!
This is when High Society became involved. Mr. Marvellous was seen coming to the ring! He was met with a chorus of boos from the fans. Obviously with a plan in place, High Society went to work. Dave got up on the ring apron and distracted the official. Marvellous, now at ringside, grabbed a carbon rod from under the ring and hit Larynx in the back of the head with it!! Dave got down off the apron, and the ref turned back to the match to see Universe go on the offense.
Using his power advantage, Universe took Dion Larynx apart. He hit the man with a pair of suplexes, followed by a piledriver and a powerbomb! Larynx struggled to get back into the match, but it was no use. The sneak attack, coupled with Universe's size advantage, were too much to overcome. Universe set up his opponent and delivered the Universal Slam!! He covered the man and the ref counted to three! MR. UNIVERSE WINS by pinfall after the Universal Slam. The three members of High Society celebrated as they made their way to the back.
Wood: What an unfortunate result for Dion Larynx. His MMP debut was looking pretty good until Marvellous got involved.
Brewer: Well, today that's what it takes to win. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you're outnumbered, you don't have a chance!
Wood: Our next match has been building for quite some time. It all started when Lenny Shaw asked Gus the Plumber to come over and fix his sink. Gus took this as an insult, and now we have a match!
GUS THE PLUMBER VS. LENNY SHAW
Gus had a major size advantage in the match. That, coupled with his anger toward Lenny, would pose a tall task if Shaw had hoped to defeat the former Tag Team Champion. As the two locked up, Gus gained the early edge. He tossed Lenny hard into the corner and followed up with a running elbow smash! As Lenny fell to the mat, Gus began to taunt him, asking Lenny if he would come over and fix Gus' toilet, all the while kicking Lenny in the chest. The ref had to order Gus to let Shaw regain his feet.
As Gus argued with the ref, Lenny got back to his senses. He hit Gus from behind with a chop block and began to work on the big man's legs. With the man down, Lenny began to work on the back to set up his Surfboard finisher. He put Gus in a camel clutch and a boston crab, but both times Gus was able to make it to the ropes. In frustration, Lenny broke of his attack and began to pace around the ring. He went back at Gus and attempted a piledriver. Gus blocked the move and backdropped Lenny to the outside.
While attacking Shaw on the outside, Gus lost control. He threw Lenny repeatedly into the ring post and then hit him with a steel chair! The ref ordered him to break off his attack, but the Plumber refused. He went under the ring and took out a kitchen sink!!! After a big wind up, Gus cracked Lenny over the head with it!!!! The referee called for the bell. LENNY SHAW WINS BY DISQUALIFICATION. Gus then got on the mic:
Gus: Do ya still want me to fix your sink you little punk? Well, do ya? Alex Daniels, you're next on my list! Watch your back!
Wood: What was that? Gus is usually so well mannered. I've known his family for years, and I can't believe Gus could do such a thing!
Brewer: He probably didn't appreciate his fans turning on him to cheer for that Alex Daniels guy! I applaud Gus' new attitude!
Wood: Of course YOU'D say that! It's time for the Pot Head Rules match! First man to three falls wins!
Pot Head Rules Match
POT HEAD VS. WASTED YOUTH
Pot Head and Bionic Pipe came out first, closely followed by Wasted Youth. The match began in the ring, but would quickly spill to the outside. Wasted Youth got the early advantage and took the time to set up some tables on the outside of the ring. As Pot Head followed him to the floor, Bionic Pipe grabbed a heavyset man out of the front row and slammed him into Youth!! As Youth fell to the floor, Pot Head took advantage by beating him with a steel chair and the steel ring steps! After setting Youth on the top rope, Pot Head hit a hurnacanrana on the man that sent him to the outside and through one of the tables!! Pot Head got the cover and won the first fall!!
As Pot Head and Bionic Pipe taunted the fans, Youth got back to his feet. He rammed the two men together, sending Pipe to the floor. He tossed Pot Head back into the ring and set him on the top rope. Setting a chair in the middle of the ring to use as a springboard, Youth got a good run-up and dropkicked Pot Head with his metal spikes off the top rope and through a table on the outside of the ring!!!! Youth made the cover and evened the score at 1-1.
The action then left ringside for good. The two men brawled through the crowd, slamming each other repeatedly into the concrete floor. Youth gained the advantage after hitting a piledriver on a chair! He set the chair on top of Pot Head, set up a stack of three open chairs and climbed to the top to attempt the Lost Cause. From out of nowhere, a fan pushed him off the pile and Youth fell hard to the floor. Pot Head crawled over to get the pin and take a 2-1 lead.
The referee made Pot Head give Youth a chance to get back to his feet before continuing. Security quickly escorted the interfering fan out of the arena. The match continued as the two men fought toward the entrance way. Youth ducked into the backstage area and brought out a table. He hit Pot Head twice with the table before hitting his opponent with yet another piledriver!! Youth opened the table and set Pot Head on it before taking off through the exit. Moments later, Youth returned, but this time he was standing on top of the entrance way. He dove off at Pot Head with the Lost Cause and this time he hit the move...on nothing but table! Pot Head had rolled out of the way. Pot grabbed his opponent and applied the Pot Leaf. Youth, realizing that he was beaten, tapped out. POT HEAD WINS 3 FALLS TO 1 to up his career record in Pot Head matches to 5-0. EMTs were called out to help Youth to his feet.
Wood: What a vicious match! Will Youth be able to go this Saturday against "Massacre" Mark Allyn?
Brewer: In a word, NO! He got destroyed by Pot Head! Speaking of Mark Allyn, it's time for our first title match of the evening!
MMP Midwestern Championship - Ladder Match
"MASSACRE" MARK ALLYN VS. PSYCHOTIC SAM
These two men were both obviously hungry for a taste of championship gold! That's not all Sam was hungry for, as he opened the match by taking a big bite out of Allyn's ear!! Sam got the early advantage and worked over "The Massacre Man" with a variety of leglocks. Havoc reached in to give Sam extra leveredge and since a ladder match is no disqualification, the ref could do nothing to stop him! Sam kept the offense coming, going to the top rope and hitting a moonsault. He began to climb the ladder, but Allyn stopped him by knocking over the ladder. Sam was sent crashing to the floor!
After Havoc helped Sam to his feet, Allyn climbed to the top rope and dove off at the two men, sending them hard into the safety rail. He got back in the ring and began to climb the ladder, but he was easily stopped by Sam. The two men continued to fight, again spilling to the outside. Havoc got involved by nailing Allyn in the back with a chair. It had no effect on Ally, who responded by stealing the chair from Havoc and nailing both him and Sam!! Allyn then threw HAVOC in the ring and began to work him over. He went to the top rope and nailed Havoc with the St. Valentine's Day Splash!!! This attention lapse, however, gave Sam a chance to recover.
Sam got back in the ring, this time with his stuffed cat, Marbels! As Allyn stood over Havoc, berating the man for interfering, Sam came up on Allyn from behind. He nailed Allyn with Marbels' wooden base, sending Allyn to the floor! With his opponent out, Sam asked the referee to tell him how to set up the ladder. Putting the ladder in place, Sam climbed to the top and grabbed the belt. PSYCHOTIC SAM WINS THE MIDWESTERN TITLE. Havoc regained his senses and congratulated Sam on his win. They then made their way to the back with Havoc carrying the belt and Sam congratulating Marbels. They were stopped in the runway by Alex Daniels, who had a mic:
Alex: Congratulations on your win, Sam. I'm gonna make this short and sweet. I am challenging you to a ladder match for the belt on next week's Saturday Night Slams. What do you say?
Sam steals the mic to give his answer.
Sam: Marbels thinks you're a weinee.
Sam drops the mic, pets his cat, and makes his way to the exit.
Wood: A big win for Sam, but Alex Daniels is hardly a "weinee".
Brewer: Sam earned that win, but Allyn gave him one hell of a fight! We haven't seen the last of those two!
Wood: It's tournament time!!! Let's go to the ring for round one!
MMP World Title Tournament - First Round
(1) DIAMOND KING VS. (8) DARKSON
Darkson attacked Diamond King before the match could begin, jumping him in the aisle and choking him with barbed wire! The referee came out to break off the attack, but Darkson had done a great deal of damage! As the match got to the ring, Darkson had the upper hand. Jamaal kept an eye on Caliban on the outside and neither man would be a factor in the match. Darkson was going for the quick win, powerbombing DK in the middle of the ring. The HWA Champion showed resiliency, kicking out from the impressive power move. Darkson did not let up, as he kept attacking with moonsaults and dropkick to keep the former titleholder off guard.
Things were not looking good for the leader of GX. Darkson made his first mistake in the match he made an obscene gesture toward Jamaal. This allowed DK to gain the edge, taking Darkson down with a leglock. By this point, however, DK had been badly beaten and could not hold on long before Darkson reached the ropes. After again powerbombing DK, Darkson gave instructions to Caliban to set up a table at ringside.
As he did so, Jamaal made his way around the ring and attacked the bodyguard of Fate's Warning. The two seconds brawled on the outside, distracting the attention of the referee. With the ref's back turned, a man could be seen coming to the ring. It was Carl Donovan, and he was carrying on of the MMP Tag belts! He jumped up on the apron and nailed Darkson with the gold! After reviving DK, Donovan went around the ring to help Jamaal take care of Caliban. DK recovered and put on the Lethal Injection. The referee turned around to check Darkson, but he was out cold. The ref stopped the match. DIAMOND KING WINS BY KNOCKOUT after Carl Donovan interfered. He moved on in the tournament to face the winner of Machine Head/Aries.
Brewer: What did I tell ya earlier, Wood? It's the numbers game that matters! GX has always been my favorite stable around here, and they just showed you why!
Wood: I think it's obvious that Darkson had that match before Donovan interfered. The decision will stand, but I wish it wouldn't. Darkson deserved to win that one. The action keeps comin' at Championship Fever! Let's go back to the ring!
MMP World Title Tournament - First Round
(3) ALEX DANIELS VS. (6) THE IRONMAN
The Ironman came to the ring first to a mixed reaction from the fans. Alex Daniels, however, received a huge cheer and was the obvious fan favorite in this contest. Daniels got the early edge by taking Ironman over with a couple of hiptosses and a bodyslam. He put on an armlock, but Ironman quickly reversed the hold. The two men exchanged technical moves until Ironman caught Daniels accross the jaw with a hard right hand that sent the leader of UMP to the mat.
As Ironman took over, he began to focus on the legs of his opponent. He was clearly aware of the impact of Daniels' Sweet Chin Music. After subduing Daniels in the middle of the ring, Ironman slapped on a figure-four leglock. The pain shooting throught Daniels' body was evident, but he would not quit. After twice nearly having his shoulder counted down, Daniels struggled over to the bottom rope. Ironman was reluctant to break the hold, but when the referee threatened to disqualify the man, he broke it.
Ironman moved in for the kill, but Daniels was getting some strength back. He sent Ironman into the ropes and hit him with a flying forearm. After kipping back to his feet, Daniels appeared to be moving in for the kill. Suddenly, the crowd began to boo mercilessly. Gus the Plumber was coming to the ring, carrying the kitchen sink that he had used to beat on Lenny Shaw earlier on the card. Getting in the ring, Gus stared down Alex as he nailed Ironman with the sink!!! The ref called for the bell! THE IRONMAN WINS BY DISQUALIFICATION after Gus the Plumber interferes. Gus then got on the mic for the second time:
Gus: I said I was gonna get you, Daniels! I want you and that punk Shaw in the ring at the next PPV. It won't be any normal match. I've got something special in mind. Do you have the guts to face me again?
Gus drops the mic and walks out as Alex Daniels looks on in disgust.
Wood: What has happened to Gus? He used to be such a good guy to have around, but now he's just ruining everybody's fun. The Commish should fine and suspend him!
Brewer: For what? Just because you don't like a man does not warrant fining or suspending him. I think it's great what Gus is doing. Keep it up!
Wood: You're not helping anything! Let's go back to the ring for another tournament match!
MMP World Title Tournament - First Round
(2) BLITZKRIEG VS. (7) COMMISH'S SURPRISE ENTRANT
As Blitzkrieg waited in the ring, the Commish came down to make an announcement.
Commish: I had every intention of coming out here tonight to introduce Gus the Plumber as Blitzkrieg's opponent. However, in light of Gus' recent actions, I have taken his spot away. Ladies and gentlemen, now coming to the ring, Gus' replacement...you may know him as "Fallen Angel", but those of you from the HWA or UWA may bettter know him as...
The Commish was cut off as a masked man descended from the ceiling. He attacked Blitzkrieg from behind and floored him with a DDT. He took off the mask to reveal his identity as none other than former HWA star Super Cupid! He went right to work on Blitz, taking him down with a second DDT. Going for the cover, Cupid only got a two-count. Cupid then went to the top rope for a moonsault, but he was met by a dropkick in the chest by a recovered Blitzkrieg. This match went back and forth, with both men having chances to win.
Blitzkrieg took over by powerbombing Super Cupid. Using his size advantage, the leader of Disposable Heroes kept Cupid off guard. He nailed a ghostbuster suplex that took Cupid down hard, but could only get a two-count before Cupid kicked out. Blitz went for another powerbomb, but Cupid slid down the back, kicked him in the gut and nailed a DDT! Both men lay in the ring as the ref administered a ten count.
Both men got to their feet at seven, but Super Cupid took over at this point. He wore down Blitzkrieg with his speed and high flying moves. Ready to go for the win, Cupid picked up his opponent and hit a Death Valley Driver!! Going for it all, Cupid went to the top rope. After taunting the fans, he leaped off with his Cupid's Arrow...just as Blitzkrieg moved out of the way!!! Cupid hit hard. Blitz picked him up and nailed the Creeping Death! A three count later and Blitz was in the second round against the Ironman! BLITZKRIEG WINS by pinfall to advance in the tournament!
Wood: Blitzkrieg moves on! You can't help but wonder if it would have gone the other way if Gus had been in the match.
Brewer: Leave it to you to second guess everything. I'm no fan of Blitzkrieg and Disposable Heroes, but that was a good match. We've got one more, so let's get to it!
MMP World Title Tournament - First Round
(4) MACHINE HEAD VS. (5) ARIES
As Aries waited in the ring, Machine Head struggled down the aisle. He had taken quite a beating earlier in the BattleBowl. Aries took the early advantage by kicking Machine hard in the gut and clotheslining him to the mat. Machine Head struggled to his feet, but each time he was knocked right back down by the giant from Athens, Greece. Machine Head gained a short lived advantage by jabbing Aries in the eye, but Aries got right back on the attack.
Machine Head tried to use some of his submission and weardown holds, but Aries was easily able to power out of them. Machine Head, desperate for any offense he could get, went right for the Mechanic's Thrust, but Aries caught the foot and again clotheslined him down. He picked the man up and delivered the Godly Drop!! Three seconds later, Machine Head was put out of his misery. ARIES WINS by pinfall. He moves on to face Diamond King in the second round.
Wood: Aries just destroyed Machine Head! I've never seen anything quite like it! We must remember, however, that Machine Head had already fought a gruelling BattleBowl match earlier tonight. One can only wonder how the match would have gone down had Machine Head been at 100%.
Brewer: Shut up, Wood. This is a wrestling show, not a listen-to-Jerry-Wood-make-excuses show. We got a big tag match comin' up! Quit wastin' everyone's time and go back to the ring!
HELL'S FURY (DIABLO & SOUL CRUSHER) VS. TWO (FROST & X)
This match marked the MMP debut of all of these men, save the experienced Soul Crusher. Frost started out against Diablo. There was nothing pretty about this match. Just a good, old-fashioned brawl. The two men exchanged punches in the middle of the ring, with neither getting the upper hand. They circled each other, trying to decide how to gain the upper hand. Frost used the "highly technical" kick to the groin to double over Diablo. He and X made several quick tags to wear down their opponent. X press slammed Diablo hard and got a two-count.
As Two continued to work over Diablo, Soul Crusher got in the ring. He hit X in the back before the referee ordered him to leave the ring. With both Diablo and X lying in the ring, this marked the biggest advantage that Hell's Fury had seen since the opening bell. Both men made tags, and Frost and Soul Crusher got in each other's face. Frost attempted to press slam Crusher, but the member of Fate's Warning slid down the back, picked up Frost and nailed him with a ghostbuster suplex. He made the cover, but only got a two count.
With four men this vicious in the ring, the referee can only maintain order for so long. Soul Crusher dragged Frost to the middle of the ring and applied the German Clutch!!! As Frost struggled, he realized that he was nowhere near the ropes. X saw this as well and got in the ring. The referee tried to stop him, but got shoved down for his efforts. Soon, all four men were brawling in the ring. When the referee got back to his feet, he called for the bell. He had ruled the match a DOUBLE DISQUALIFICATION. He then ran back to the locker room for his own safety. As the brawl continued, an unidentified man came down to the ring. It was MMP rookie DAETHTAKER!!! He got in the ring and cleaned house on Two!!! As Hell's Fury made their way to the back, 'Taker said that he wanted to join the two brothers. He got no response as Soul Crusher & Diablo made their way to the exit.
Wood: It just goes to show that you need two referees out here when there are four maniacs like Hell's Fury and Two in the ring.
Brewer: And what was Daethtaker doing out here? Why does he want to join Hell's Fury?
Wood: It's time for the intermission here in Green Bay. When we come back, it will be our second ladder match of the evening! Ryu "The Dragon" Akira battles new High Society member Al'Rashid and the winner will take home Rashid's valet, Namira.
Ladder Match
RYU "THE DRAGON" AKIRA VS. AL'RASHID
As Akira waited in the ring, Rashid came out dragging Namira by the hair. He cuffed her to the ringpost with the key hanging from a chain above the ladder. As the two men locked up, Remy Lebeau came down to ringside to join the announce team. Akira gained the early advantage with his martial arts skills, sending Rashid hard to the mat. The Japanese star was the obvioius fan favorite in the match. He tried to go up the ladder almost immediately, but he was stopped by Rashid. As Lebeau led the crowd in a chant of "Akira, Akira, Akira", a blaze of black fire hit the entrance way and Darkson came down to ringside.
Rashid soon gained an advantage over his long time rival and used a variety of submission holds to wear him down. Each time he looked over to Namira, the valet turned away in disgust. She seemed to be cheering for Akira! Working over the neck and back of his opponent, Rashid took time to yell at Lebeau to get out of his business. Could these two men also have a past? With Akira worn down, Rashid walked over to Namira and said something to her that made her turn away in disgust. As Akira lay beaten in the middle of the ring, Rashid climbed the ladder.
As he reached the top rung, Rashid stopped. Rather than reaching up for the key, he turned and hit Akira with a big splash from fifteen feet in the air. The Saudi Arabian superstar was in complete control. He applied the Sand Devil on his beaten opponent until he passed out. As Rashid climbed the ladder, Remy Lebeau got on the apron and pulled the ladder down. Rashid went crashing to the floor. Lebeau helped Akira to his feet, and the crowd began to chant for a second time. Rashid soon made it back into the ring. Lebeau went for his "Heart Breaker", but Rashid ducked and the kick instead nailed Akira!!! Rashid then sent Lebeau to the floor, climbed the ladder and grabbed the key!! AL'RASHID WINS and will keep Namira. He unlocked the cuffs and dragged Namira to the back by the hair.
Wood: What a devastating loss! You could see how bad Akira wanted that match - and how bad Namira wanted it for him! Why does she stay with Rashid when he treats her so badly?
Brewer: Because she's a woman! It's her job to do as the man says!
Wood: Will you stop! That's not called for! It's time for the second round of the tournament, so let's go back to the ring!
MMP World Title Tournament - Second Round
(1) DIAMOND KING VS. (5) ARIES
Diamond King came out showing the effects of his earlier match with Darkson. Aries, who had coasted through the first round, also dominated this contest! Diamond King, again accompanied by Jamaal, seemed reluctant to get in the ring. When the ref threatened to disqualify him, DK did as he was instructed and Aries went right to work. He grabbed the former MMP World Champ by the throat and hoisted him in the air. After dropping DK hard to the mat, Aries was met with a round of applause from the strong anti-GX crowd. As in his earlier match with Machine Head, Aries did not let up.
He picked up the native of Calgary, AB only to clothesline him down. Aries had owned the tournament to this point. He again clotheslined DK before hitting him with a powerslam. DK was barely able to get his shoulder up before the three count. Jamaal, desperate to help his boss, got up on the apron to distract the referee, but it did not work. Aries came over and floored Jamaal with a right cross. Could it be time for the Godly Drop?
As Aries picked up his opponent to deliver his finisher, Jamaal again got up on the apron. Aries dropped his opponent and again knocked Jamaal to the floor. As the ref admonished Jamaal, Scorpion descended from the rafters! He landed behind Aries and nailed a Scorpion Death Drop!! Before the ref could turn around, Scorpion was gone. DK crawled over to make the cover and got the three count. DIAMOND KING WINS by pinfall after Scorpion interfered. He moves on to the finals of the tournament.
wiid: Hey, Ray, let me ask you something. Do you know if GX was planning to fight one fair match tonight? That makes two matches that DK should have lost! This is totally wrong!
Brewer: We have a referee to enforce the rules. Your job is to call the match. How 'bout sticking to that for a change? It's time for the other semi-final match!
MMP World Title Tournament - Second Round
(2) BLITZKRIEG VS. (6) THE IRONMAN
These two men had quite a history as allies, but they were able to put that aside with so much on the line. Both men desperatly wanted a shot at Diamond King and the World title. Ironman was clearly feeling the effects of his earlier match against Alex Daniels and the sneak attack by Gus the Plumber. Blitzkrieg was able to capitalize, using bodyslams and piledrivers to stun his opponent. Locker room reports said that Ironman was having trouble keeping his balance between matches. Blitzkrieg must have been aware of this as he focused his attack on Ironman's head for the entire match.
Blitzkrieg showed his one-time friend absolutely no compassion as the match progressed. Powerslams, piledrivers, you name it. Blitzkrieg hit Ironman with everything but the kitchen sink (no pun intended). Ironman had trouble getting to his feet but, to his credit, he would not give up. After Blitzkrieg nailed a powerbomb, the referee interjected.
The ref had noticed that Ironman was bleeding from the back of his skull. When he asked Ironman if he wanted to continue, he got no response. The referee had no choice but to call for the bell. BLITZKRIEG WINS DUE TO INJURY on referee's discretion. Blitzkrieg did not look happy with how he had won, but it was a win none the less. He moved on to fight for the World title!
Wood: We certainly hope there is no serious damage to The Ironman. As you see medical technicians coming out to help him, we can only hope that it is not as serious as it looks.
Brewer: He sure took a beating today, but I credit this to Gus the Plumber. Sometimes you just have to know when to say when. Hitting a man in the skull with a kitchen sink is a little too much.
Wood: This from the man who, just earlier tonight, was applauding Gus' new attitude. What a hipocrit you are! It's time for a falls-count-anywhere match between Beeficus Maximus and The Rock 'n' Roll Pumpkin! Let's go to the ring!
Falls Count Anywhere Match
BEEFICUS MAXIMUS VS. THE ROCK 'N' ROLL PUMPKIN
As Beeficus Maximus was waiting in the ring, he was blindly attacked by Hell's Fury! When he saw this, Pumpkin ran to the ring to fight off the interference. As the outsiders made their way to the back, Pumpkin went to work on his opponent. Dragging the man out through the crowd, Pumpkin was in complete control. They fought out into the lobby of the arena, where Pumpkin (the fan favorite in the match) slammed Beef into a popcorn machine!! The vendor threw a fit, but Pumpkin was able to calm him down. Pumpkin made a cover but only got a two count. The two men then fought into the washrooms!
Dragging his opponent into a stall, Pumpkin prepared for the ultimate humiliation. He urinated into a toilet bowl and then flushed it...with Beef's head in the water!!!!! Beef began to make a comeback and dragged Pumpkin out to the parking lot where a group of people were having a barbecue. Beef tossed Pumpkin into the grill, badly burning his left arm. Beef made a cover, but could not keep the Pumpkin down as he kicked out after two. Would this match go on forever?
Beef was in complete control at this point. He slammed Pumpkin into the side of the stadium and then bodyslammed him on the concrete of the parking lot which was covered in stones and broken glass. Dragging the Pumpkin over, Beef set his opponent on top of a car. He delivered the Beef Bomb of the roof of the car onto the concrete!!! Beef made the cover and got an easy three count. BEEFICUS MAXIMUS WINS by pinfall. After the match, Beef issued a challenge to Remy Lebeau for a match - any place, any time!
Wood: Not as impressive as the Pot Head Rules match, but that was a great match none the less!
Brewer: Have you ever seen a man get powerbombed off of a car? That was great! Finally put it to that punk musician! We got titles from here on out! Quit stallin', let's go to the ring!
MMP Universal Championship - Three Way Dance
VIRUS RICHARDS VS. ORION VS. "RAGIN' CAJUN" REMY LEBEAU
These three men are all from opposing stables, so you knew it would be a great match. Orion got the early advantage, working over the two much smaller opponents with his overwhelming power advantage. He soon backed off, however, and let Lebeau and Richards fight amongst themselves. Virus gained the upper hand over Remy, who had already fought one time on the card, and then teamed with Orion to further batter the "Ragin' Cajun".
With two men working over him, it did not look good for Remy Lebeau. Orion and Virus took turns attacking Remy. Orion would hit a power move and Virus would follow up with a high-impact move off the top rope. This versatile attack was clearly taking it's toll on Remy. How much more punishment could he take? After an Orion powerbomb, Virus went up to the top rope...only to be clobbered in the back by Orion!!! The man who had helped Orion throughout the match was now on the receiving end of the attack. As Remy crawled out of the ring, Orion worked over Virus.
The size advantage was too much for Virus to overcome. Could his unbeaten streak finally be coming to an end? Orion, sensing victory, placed Virus on the top rope. After climbing up after his opponent, the big man nailed the Orion's Blast!!! The impact shook the foundation of the building! Orion picked up Virus to do the move again. Just as he was about to drop Virus, Remy Lebeau got up on the apron with a chair! He nailed Orion in the back with it, causing him to drop Richards and lose his balance on the top rope. As Orion fell, Remy nailed a flying elbow drop that met Orion's chest just as Orion's back hit the mat!!!! Remy made the cover and got the win!!! "RAGIN' CAJUN" REMY LEBEAU WINS THE UNIVERSAL TITLE after pinning Orion! The fans errupted as Remy made his way to the back.
Wood: What an upset! Everyone I talked to had picked Orion to win that match easily!
Brewer: He dominated that match, but he didn't have the smarts to stay on top! Remy eventually outsmarted him and Orion got beat - plain and simple!
Wood: Two title matches still to come, so let's go to the ring!
MMP Tag Team Championship Match
THE GX REVOLUTION (C) VS. XENITH XAVIER & "THE DEMENTED" xXx
One of the biggest tag matches in MMP history pitted two members of GX against two former members of GX. Xavier and Hangman started the match out with blood in their eyes. Hangman wrestled the challenger to the mat and applied a side headlock that Xavier easily reversed with a bodyslam. These two men know as much about each other as possible. Every move either man attempted was easily blocked and reversed. Hangman tagged in Donovan, who used his size advantage to work over Xavier in a corner. Driving the forearm into Xavier's temple, Donovan held the advantage over his smaller opponent.
After a series of tags, the champions seemed in good shape. Donovan's power had gained the advantage over Xavier, and the technical and high flying abilities of Hangman provided enough of a contrast to keep the former G-XXX off guard. As the match progressed, it seemed like more of a handicap match that a tag match. xXx had not yet been able to get involved. Moving in for the win, Hangman set up for the win. He hooked Xavier around the head and went for the Hangman suplex. Xavier, who had trained alongside Hangman for several months, knew the move well. He blocked the move and nailed Hangman with a side Russian leg sweep! Both men crawled to their corners and made tags!
Donovan and xXx stared each other down before locking up. Again demonstrating his strength advantage, Donovan slammed xXx hard to the mat. Then, for no apparent reason, Donovan tagged in Hangman by slapping him accross the face!! The Dominator tossed his partner in the ring and walked to the dressing room, leaving Hangman to fend for himself!! Unable to sustain a long beating from two top opponents, Hangman was placed on the top rope, allowing Xavier to nail him with the X-Factor and get the pin! XENITH XAVIER & "THE DEMENTED" xXx WIN THE TAG TEAM TITLES when Xavier pinned Hangman. The two men celebrated their win, as Hangman walked to the back with a puzzled look on his face.
Wood: What happened there? How could Donovan be so stupid as to walk out on a championship team?
Brewer: How could you need more proof than that match? Donovan has been saying for weeks that he was the only champion on the team! He was the only one able to get anything going in that match! I don't blame him for what he did!
Wood: Well, the time has come. The finals of the tournament are at hand. A locker room poll picked Blitzkrieg to win the belt. Do you think he can do it?
Brewer: What does it matter what I think? You know Diamond King is my personal favortie. Why don't we just go to the ring?!?!
MMP World Title Tournament - Finals
(1) DIAMOND KING VS. (2) BLITZKRIEG
As Blitzkrieg waited in the ring, Diamond King made his way out. He was again accompanied by his bodyguard Jamaal. Diamond King had been on the verge of defeat twice earlier, only to be saved by his GX teammates. Blitzkrieg had beaten Super Cupid and an injured Ironman to get to this point. As the two men locked up, Blitz took the early advantage. He wore down DK with a headlock and rode him to the canvas. After slamming DK in the corner, Blitz got a run-up and dropkicked the man against the turnbuckle! DK crumbled to the mat as Blitz stood over him.
This match pitted the leaders of two powerful stables against each other, though for the large part it remained one-on-one. Diamond King began to mount an offense after Blitzkrieg missed a charge and went through the ropes and hit the post shoulder-first. Diamond King used his arsenal of submission moves to counter the advantage of his opponent, at the same time regaining some of his own strength. As he wore Blitz down with a leglock, Blitz managed to reverse the hold into a leglock of his own! DK was obviously feeling the effects of his two earlier matches!
As Diamond King struggled in the submission hold of his opponent, Jamaal, as in the two previous matches, distracted the referee. Xenith Xavier then came to the ringside area!! He grabbed the World Title belt and jumped in the ring. Diamond King motioned at him to hit Blitzkrieg. Xavier nodded and swung the belt...at Diamond King!!! The crowd errupted as DK fell flat on his face, unconscious in the middle of the ring!! Xavier spat on his former boss before walking out. Xavier then went around and attacked Jamaal! The referee turned his attention back to the match just in time to see Blitzkrieg hit the Creeping Death and cover the man for the one...two...three!!! BLITZKRIEG WINS THE WORLD TITLE by pinfall over Diamond King. As Jamaal chased Xavier to the back as Disposable Heroes ran to the ring to celebrate with their leader!
Wood: It finally happened!! GX's interference backfired! I think Diamond King thought Xavier was out to help him.
Brewer: What a rip off! The Commish should get out here right now and reverse that decision. Blitzkrieg should have been disqualified!!!
Wood: If the Commish did that, DK would have lost in the first round. We saw four new champions crowned tonight! Congratulations to Psychotic Sam, Remy Lebeau, Xenith Xavier & "The Demented" xXx and, most importantly, Blitzkrieg!! Good night everyone, we'll see you on July 22 at BattleGround!
