MMP BattleGround 2
Live on PPV July 28 - From the First Union Center in Philadelphia, PA
My sincerest apologies for the quarter-assed job on this PPV, but as has
been explained to you by now, circumstances didn't allow for any better for the time being. I
will keep this PPV as a side project and hope to have the full write-up - as it was written before
my file was corrupted - available within a couple of weeks. Provided is a brief summary of the
regular matches, and the order of eliminations in the eight-man tag matches. Thanks for your
understanding.
No Disqualification
Mixed Elimination Match
TEAM
LEGION OF HEROES vs. TEAM OUTLAWS
1-3. April Lane, pinned by Amy. The ladies opened the match, and Amy
was dominant. She controlled April right from the start, and pinned her following a powerbomb.
According to the rules of the match, both women were forced to leave the ring. Since it was
April that had been defeated, another member of Team Legion of Heroes had to leave the
match. Ying was the man to depart.
4. "Die Hard" Dave Williams, pinned by Masked Man X. X kicked the middle rope as Williams
was getting into the ring following a tag. The shot to the groin slowed Williams, enabling MMX
to hit the X-Plex for the pin.
5. Yang, pinned by Moonelf. After a brief offensive by Yang, Moonelf nailed the Japanese man
with a piledriver and his finishing move, the Pain Addiction, before covering him for the three
count.
6. Moonelf, pinned by Masked Man X. Wolverine and Moonelf were double teaming MMX,
but Wolverine startled everyone by turning on his partner and nailing him with the Michigan
Spike. MMX covered Moonelf for the pin. Wolverine tossed his Untouchables shirt into the
crowd and apparently alligned himself with The Legion of Heroes.

MMP Television Championship Match
"STUNNING" STEVE
SIMON (C) vs. PERRY SANDERS
Simon was very cautious about locking up with his opponent, but the ring
rust on Sanders was clear for all to see. Sanders held his own in the early going, but Simon
countered a Death Valley Driver into a backbreaker late in the match to turn the tide for good.
A powerbomb on the concrete floor followed by the Hollywood Stretch gave Simon the win via
submission.
Four Way Elimination Match
DEATH vs. GEMINI KILLER vs.
MUTE vs. BRICK STEVENS
1. Brick Stevens, pinned by Death. Brick rolled into the ring eating a
hotdog, and didn't seem interested in fighting the match. Gemini and Mute attacked one another
at the opening bell, allowing Death to make an easy pin on Stevens following a basic
elbowdrop.
2. Gemini Killer by submission vs. Mute. A dropkick from Gemini sent Death over the top to
the floor, but while he was distracted by the man he had just sent to the outside, Mute applied
the Assassination Attempt, forcing Gemini to submit.
3. Mute, pinned by Death. While Mute was finishing off Gemini, Death recovered on the floor
and slid into the ring behind him. Once Gemini had been eliminated, Mute was nailed with the
Death Drop and was easy pickings for Death, who made the cover for the win.
Elimination Match
TEAM HIGH SOCIETY vs. TEAM
UPSTARTS
1. Hyoga, pinned by Aries. With Team Upstarts arguing amongst
themselves in the corner, Whiplash nailed Hyoga in the back of the head with a superkick.
Before Whiplash could continue with his offense, Aries slapped him on the back with an
aggressive tag, nailed Hyoga with the Godly Drop, and made the pin.
2. Izz Amazing, pinned by Aries. Shortly after Hyoga had been pinned, Izz Amazing rushed the
ring, but Big Daddy Cash cut him off and dominated the Hawaiian. Following a DDT, Cash
tagged Aries in for another Godly Drop and another three count.
3-4. No Remorse counted out. With his team at a 4-2 advantage, Mr. Marvellous decided it
was safe to get rid of Blitzkrieg and Whiplash. A call on his cellular phone brought police
officers to the ring who arrested No Remorse, claiming that Marvellous had charged them with
assault. The referee counted both men out of the ring.
5. Y2K, pinned by Aries. Following back and forth action between Big Daddy Cash and Y2K,
Cash knocked Y2K down and attacked Mack in the corner, allowing him double team the man
in the ring with the Beast from Greece. While the ref's back was turned, Aries and Cash nailed
a combination Godly Drop/reverse bulldog, allowing Aries, the illegal man in the ring, to make
the pin.
6. Aries, pinned by Mack. After Y2K had been eliminated, Little Buddy jumped up on the
apron and challenged Aries. While the referee was getting the midget down, Big Buddy climbed
up and nailed Aries with a forearm to the back of the head. Aries stumbled back and was hit
with Mack's Stonecutter off the top rope. The referee turned around and counted the
three.
7. Mack, defeated by Big Daddy Cash. Mack fought valiantly against Cash, but in the end it
was outside interference from Marvellous that finished him off. While the referee was busy
getting Aries out of the ring, Cash tossed Mack off the ropes where he was hit in the back with
the Greatest Man Alive belt. Mack went down hard, and Cash applied Big Daddy's Dreams to
secure the win.

Elimination Match
THE CULT vs. TEAM
UNHOLY
1. Shock, pinned by The Destroyer. Team Unholy's mystery partner was
believed to be Inferno, but when a much smaller man in Inferno's gear came to the ring, Hot
Crimson and company were stunned. The fan that Bootlegger had assaulted with a taser three
times in the past month, calling himself Shock, made a rather unimpressive debut as the partner,
lasting less than thirty seconds before a Destroyer chokeslam put him away.
2. Tao Te Ching by submission vs. The Destroyer. Tao tried to use his arial skills against the
giant man, but it didn't work out as planned. Destroyer turned a flying bodypress into a
backbreaker before applying the Will Breaker to get the submission.
3. Hot Crimson, pinned by The Cult Master. Cult Master insisted on being the man in the ring
against Crimson, and controlled the offense to the point where he used Captain Patrick
O'Conner's patented triple suplex combination before hitting The Final Prayer off the top rope
for the three count.
4. "Violent" Bob Flanagan, defeated by Daark. Bob got the most offense going for his team, but
when he tried to use a steel chair against Cult Master, things went south for him. Harbinger
grabbed the chair away from him, allowing Cult Master to take him down with a cut block and
make the tag to Daark. Daark showed little regard for his old friend and applied a sharpshooter
to eliminate him, holding it to the point where Bob suffered injured knee ligaments that have put
his MMP career in jeopardy.

MMP Midwestern Championship Match
WOLVERINE (C) vs.
"STUNNING" STEVE SIMON
Simon showed some signs of fatigue after his earlier match against Perry
Sanders, but his cunning coupled with outside assistance from Kristin made up for it. After
Kristin pulled Simon out of the ring when Wolverine had him trapped in a Rings of Saturn
submission hold, Wolverine fell over a tripwire on the outside of the ring, jamming his neck
against the safety rail. The referee held Simon back as he counted Wolverine out. Simon won
the match, but Wolverine retained the title.
MMP Tag Team Championship Match
UPSTANDING
CITIZENS (C) vs. THE UPSTARTS
The Upstarts came into the match with a gameplan, and it worked decidedly
in their favor. After cuffing Joker's Child to the safety rail on the outside in the opening
moments, Mack and Y2K enjoyed a 2-on-1 advantage against Virus Richards. Virus fought
back, but had a hard time keeping up with two men against only one. Joker was cut free from
the cuffs just as Mack nailed Virus with the Stonecutter, but before the referee could make the
count, The Regulator came running down to the ring and attacked Joker with Loui Slugger.
Joker was knocked out in front of the referee, drawing the disqualification and allowing
Upstanding Citizens to retain the belts. Regulator cut a stripe of hair off the middle of Joker's
head as revenge for Kristin, but made his getaway before The Upstarts could get to him.
MMP Extreme Championship Match
ARIES (C) vs. DR. NO
LIMIT
After being forced by Commissioner Grant Lindsay to don the blindfold,
Aries focused on DNL's back with what bit of offense he could muster with impaired vision.
Both men employed similar strategies of straight ahead power moves, but the match was
decided as a result of interference. Big Daddy Cash and Mr. Marvellous attacked Zane and
Charles with steel chairs, allowing Regulator to get in the ring and attack DNL with Loui. Reg
told Aries that it was clear to remove the blindfold, which he did before hitting Aries with the
Godly Drop and covering him for the pin.
Elimination Match
TEAM UNTOUCHABLES vs. TEAM
SYNDICATE
1. Dr. No Limit, pinned by Virus Richards. After his apparent defection to
The Syndicate, George Achica was nowhere to be found at match time, leaving O'Conner,
Ryno, and DNL at a one man disadvantage. After a Heart's Desire powerbomb from
Bootlegger, Virus nailed a frog splash off the top rope for the pin.
2. "Stunning" Steve Simon, pinned by The Ryno. Simon had the advantage on Ryno with a
sleeperhold, but the fatigue from his two earlier matches was very apparent by the time this
match came about. Ryno broke the sleeper by ramming Simon back into the turnbuckle and hit
a Ryno Charge to score the fall.
3. Virus Richards, pinned by Captain Patrick O'Conner. With Virus and O'Conner trading
blows back and forth, Scott Worth came down to ringside. A cheap shot from Richards gave
him the advantage, and he went to the top for another frog splash. Ryno came in the ring to try
and get rid of Worth, who jumped up on the apron to dispute his presence. When he grabbed
the top rope, Virus fell and straddled himself on the turnbuckle. O'Conner got back up and
connected with a northern lights suplex off the top for the pin.
4. The Ryno counted out. With Ryno battling Regulator, Steve Simon made his way back to the
ring looking for revenge on the man that had eliminated him. When Regulator stopped to argue
with the referee about one of his calls, Simon pulled Ryno out of the ring and ran him into the
ring post. Ryno blocked the attack, but apparently forgot about his match as he and Simon
brawled back to the dressing room.
5. The Regulator, pinned by Captain Patrick O'Conner. While Regulator mockingly applauded
the referee on his call in counting Ryno out, O'Conner grabbed him from behind and nailed his
triple suplex combination, holding the last one in a bridge to get the pin.
6. Captain Patrick O'Conner, pinned by The Bootlegger. Bootlegger went right after the tired
Captain, nailing him with a chokeslam before going for the Heart's Desire. Showing that he still
had some fight left in him, O'Conner countered it into a huracanrana as Virus made his way back
to the ring. While Bootlegger was pulling himself up, O'Conner bounced off the ropes for a
running assault, but Virus tripped him up from the outside, allowing Bootlegger to hit the Heart's
Desire. The universal champion distracted the referee long enough for Virus to hit another frog
splash before turning around to make the pin.

Elimination Match
TEAM FAMILY
vs. TEAM LONE GUNZ
1. "The Conman" Wang Chen, pinned by Scott Worth. After the match had
spilled to the outside of the arena, The Family's mystery partner proved his "worth" to the team
by scoring the first pin. A Psychotic Smash from Sam followed by an All-Nighter from Worth
led to the fall. After the mystery partner no-showed for Team Lone Gunz and with "Massacre"
Mark Allyn working with The Family, Sean Williams was left alone against five men.
2. "WildCard" Sean Williams, pinned by The Joker's Child. Joker had hit Williams with a car
earlier in the match, and after Chen had been eliminated, Allyn ran him down again, this time with
a motorcycle. Allyn drove off, leaving the beaten Williams as easy prey for Joker, who covered
him on the concrete for the three count.

MMP Universal Championship
Triple Threat Water Tank
Match
THE BOOTLEGGER (C) vs. PSYCHOTIC SAM vs. THE
RYNO
The three men entered the tank separately, but right from the early going it
was clear that Sam and Bootlegger had something in mind other than the universal title. Ryno
only managed to get in some early offense before the two other men relentlessly double teamed
him. Sam strapped weights to Ryno's legs while Bootlegger worked on his upper body.
Bootlegger nailed the Heart's Desire while the water was still relatively low, and he and Sam
simultaneously escaped the tank up two of the three ladders provided. According to the
stipulations of the match, Betty was returned to Bootlegger and the head of Marbels was
returned to Sam. Bootlegger retained the title.

Ladder Match
CAPTAIN
PATRICK O'CONNER (C) vs. "CORRUPT" JOHN KORSO
The match went back and forth many times through the early going. Korso's
ring rust was easily countered by O'Conner's fatigue from his match earlier in the evening.
Korso was the first man to make his way up the ladder, but a shot to the leg from O'Conner's
shileleagh club brought him back to the ring. O'Conner then started up, but just as he reached
the top, he turned back and went for a flying axhandle with his club across Korso's head. It was
a mistake, as Korso caught him coming down with a low blow. It was Korso's time, and he
slowly made his way up. He stopped at the top, reached up, and clasped his hand firmly on the
belt, but before he could unhook it, O'Conner pulled his leg out with the club. The angle of the
fall sent Korso over the top to the floor, allowing O'Conner to make his way up and retrieve the
belt to retain the title.
